My opinion of KH1 has always been that it's greater than the sum of its parts. It's not amazing at any one given thing but when those not amazing things are put together in a single package it becomes amazing overall.

you have the postcards, Dalmatians quest, trinities, minigames, cups, synthesis, a real sense of progression and leveling up, explorable worlds that to this day people still can get lost in

Which to me is funnily the inverse of KH3, a game which has many individually amazing parts but doesn't measure up when considered as a whole. In my subjective Ottijective opinion anyway.

I think Biz hit the nail on the head when he said that fans need to be careful with how they voice their criticism

Because many fans back then complained at KH1's platforming when even though it wasn't exactly stellar, it wasn't absolute garbage as it's sometimes portrayed. But the fierce complaint led to platforming being essentially removed from KH2, until the fans that actually liked platforming complained and led to Square re-adding it to Cavern of Remembrance
