I said that, because it feels like it's essentially ignoring the flaws the series has presented so far, to an extent. It feels rather hyperfocused on the lastest entry, a lot being because,well.. it's the lastest entry, and all our attention is upon it.

Amate, I've been going through KH2 again lately

I wanted so hard to like KH3 that I was actively trying to convince myself that KH2 was the same thing with the same problems

And you know what? There is some truth to that

I found the first visit to Beast's Castle almost disposable

But there are things that I just couldn't deny to myself

When SDG first got to Hollow Bastion, I felt a surge of emotion and satisfaction much greater than I did during KH3 as a whole

The scenes where Sora reunited with Kairi and Riku in TWTNW hit me harder than the entirety of the Keyblade Graveyard sequences

Well, at that point.. doesn't that basically boil down to your attachment to KH2? And the fact that, perhaps, it lacked an element you greatly loved and enjoyed in it? Isn't this basically nostalgia playing it's hand, as your essentially reexperiencing that game?

Nothing wrong with all this..

Yes, you can

But I really wasn't

To be honest my memory is pretty bad

As it stood I had forgotten about 90% of KH2 already

It was almost like I was playing it for the first time again

I don't believe nostalgia was really playing a factor

I was just enjoying myself more

If anything this just goes to show how great KH1's story was

I would think it does, when a game like Kh2 is something you've experienced once before... You can feel those feelings again and how much you enjoyed something despite having mostly forgotten it all, because the experiences of it likely is still there. Scientiically, memories don't necessarily just go.. "poof",the pathways just simply stop needing to be used.

But that said, I don't think I go to Kh for deep analysis,obv..

Maybe it's because it's my first video-game? Maybe because it had someone i knew attached to it? Could be anything

But i can safely say it's my own nostalgia that keeps my attachment going. And that's not a deflection or anything.

It's just.. simply there.

It would technically be bad because nostalgia is kind of a plague in the sense that it can dwarf your view of something

So one could argue I'd be looking at KH2 with rose-tinted glasses

You have not done this and I commend you for it, Amate
