Funny enough i am reading the 358 days novel right now and when roxas was shopping he asked himself if he was a nobody to i may be a joke but it could aswell be a Nugget for a Future plot point.

I feel like he would be an anti friend if thats a term. A friend who uses some other reason for hanging arround even though he actually cares.

Like he is just following his best customer or something. He did follow roxas after he left after all.

That Moogle was actually one of my favourite parts of the game. No joke. I just thought it was such a nice touch and he was so cute in that little coat! But it also raised a question I'd had ever since Chain of memories: who is making these smaller, customized coats? Because Mickey had one with EARS ON IT and then we got one for a Moogle. Who is the manufacturer of these coats? Do they just appear? Does Xemnas have a secret sewing hobby?

Probably not. In the Days novel they actually wonder about how Riku is walking arround in a coat and how maybe he stole one from CO. Then I think Xaldin brings up that the coats are their gear and they should have an account of all of the ones in their possession.

So they send Axel to CO to take account of all the coats that were taken to CO for the members there and see if any were missing (which is just a hilarious scene to imagine might I add! XD He was probably thrilled to get that mission).

But none come up missing. Which then leads into the question of if these coats are being made and distributed by the Org to the point where they think they have sole access to them, then where in the HECK did DiZ get some?!

Though I would find it funny if they lost all access to new ones after the moogle left because he was the sole seller of these things to the Org to the point where he was considered the Orgs official seller and Saix having to go tell Xemnas, "The Moogle has betrayed us."

my guess is that ansem the wise or Xehanort when he was still an apprentice made them to shield agains the darkness but than found out how they can be used for other things. For who makes them its most likeley the dusk (the lowest form of nobodies) because whenever in the manga or the books there are chores repairs or cleaning anything that is not combat or research related they are responsible for it

That does make sense, but they've also been around since the age of fairy tales since both Luxu and the MoM wore them during KHUX. So who was manufacturing them then?

I think the Dusks make the cloaks at least for the Organization as for King Mickey's cloak.  I think Clarabelle or at least one of the castle staff might have made his cloak which would make sense.  Mickey is a king after all and he probably has trained many magicians that at least specialized in dark magic.  He probably got the cloak from Yen Sid just like the Good Fairies gave Sora his clothes in KH2.

I always figured that Xemnas had backups like the Moogle.

Yeah, but DiZ was the one who gave Mickey and Riku their cloaks. Maybe the Organization moogle is the one making them.

Oh okay.  I always thought the Moogle Nobody was well a Moogle Nobody.  I don't think Xemnas would allow a Moogle into his castle because well that could compromise his group and put them at risk.  I think the Nobody Moogle was a Nobody but after the events of Days, it was tracked down by the Organization and turned into a Dusk or something because it aided a traitor.  That turned grim real fast.

Awwwwww, poor lil guy. I suppose it's possible that he was a nobody. Man, the more I think about this the more I feel like we should have gotten some explanation about that moogle. Because you're right, Xemnas probably wouldn't have allowed some random moogle inside the castle. Again, I always just assumed that the Organization allowed him to sell his stuff there. Maybe if they remake the full game they'll provide more details.

Probably but it was just one of those things that doesn't get much attention since it is just a game mechanic that is just there.  I do think it was possible that he was a Nobody since many worlds fell to darkness and there were probably a few that just made it out there while retaining their original body.  It would be a good idea to expand on that since I don't think that the Organization members and the Moogle (if he is a Nobody) were the only special nobodies to retain their original body.  Though that would beg the question of what happened to the other Nobodies that did retain their original body but aren't apart of the Organization.  Are they living in the city below Xemnas's castle?  That could explain the truck, the lights being on and the city seeming to be normal and not decrepit and filled to the brim with litter like that scene from Pinnochio where Jiminy's rummages through Pleasure Island and stumbles upon the donkeys.

Who's willing to bet that the Moogle is a nobody or that it worked some sort of deal out with Xemnas?

I still think that it's just a regular moogle who was permitted to set up shop in the Castle that Never Was. Also, didn't he flee the castle with Roxas at the end of the game? I really need to play the game again, but I have a sneaking suspicion that he took off with Roxas when Roxas flew the coop. I feel like a nobody moogle wouldn't do that.

Well, Roxas was his best paying customer.  That's one thing he said right before you fight Xion and we see him for the last time.

Yeah, I do wonder if he was the only Moogle in the Organization.  There had to be others like him, especially since we saw Moogle inside Castle Oblivion, KH2 and I think DDD.  They of course lacked the cloaks.  I do wonder why they were allowed to do business inside the castle.  Did Sora defeat Nobody Moogle's Dusk and Heartless and it came back as a regular Moogle?

But then why would Xemnas allow it to be there?  Unless it set up temporary shop while Sora and Riku were there and then just fled for the hills once Xemnas and Xehanort were defeated.  Could be.  As for the Moogle shops in Com, it could be those are just Sora's memories like the Heartless might be.
