So begins the wait for FF7R

1/2 games we thought would never happen has already arrived. Now begins the wait for the other anticipated Square Enix title. I am super hyped for whats to come with Final Fantasy 7 this year

Is it weird that I am both excited for FF7 remake but also not? Last I heard this is going to be an episodic game. Fair enough on the face of it. But as someone who hasn't yet played the original FF7, if I play the remake first, I want it to be the full game, not just a part of it. So I'm not sure of that has been debunked or confirmed but if it is still planned to be episodic then no, I don't care until the all the episodes are out, then I will play it. And I hope its amazing, not just for new players like me but for the fans who have been waiting forever for it

I'm very much anticipating the best for FF77R having played the original multiple times. I've heard no changes about the episodic plan but honestly I'm good either way. The way I see it possibly playing out is similar to how the original three disks were separated with probably the final episode being extended to include maybe more back story (granted, I don't know how much they are blending in from Crisis Core, Dirge of Cerberus, etc....or even if they will at all). Since they pretty much had to start over though, I wouldn't hold your breath to see anything for it this year.

Still excited in any capacity. Given how well executed the KH3 system is (and somewhat the FF15 system), can't wait to see how they tailor it to FF7R.

well, to be honest.
once i could see the appeal, back in school days when it was thought to be a thing on ps3 with the tech demo at launch at the time and all,

but in all honesty, now, even with it being my favourite ff hands down and my fav cast of characters in any ff , i don't really care.

what will it bring more than what was in the old OG one? better graphics, a new combat system, fine. that had my interest as well when i was younger, but really what sticked with me out of my ff7 runs has always been the story, the characters, and that isn't changing. i already ate the cake, i know what it tastes like. replaying it for the sake of better graphics, modern day overhaul..meh. i'm past the days of completing a game 100% or playing it beyond what it has to tell, guess that's growing up for me in a way, but i'm not that type of gamer anymore. and plus it not looking anything like what it used to erases all sense of nostalgia which is at the heart of the enjoyment of all these old games, being gems or not.

 

but yeah i can definitely see the appeal. though to me it's just the same old, only nicer. i'd rather have Nomura and such work on new stuff, say the next KH, or some sequel to TWEWY or anything else really. ff7 ? that's a story that's been told and milked already.

Honestly, in my wait for the Remake, I decided to play the original, since it's available from the PSN store, and I played it on the PS3. Granted, it's an amazing game, and I can see why its such an iconic entry in the FF series, but honestly, my favorite Final Fantasy to this day continues to be Final Fantasy IV. But aside from this point, FFVII is an amazing game, and Nomura has the monumental task of ensuring that the remake lives up to the legacy of the original, while providing something fresh for the modern gaming market. I'm sure Nomura will pull it off. He's a badass that way, and with Kingdom Hearts III out of the way, I'm sure he'll make FFVII Remake his next priority.
