KH2 Isn't it weird Nobodies have some of the most distinct personalities in KH?

Recommended Posts

I dunno, it just seems odd to me that people who can't feel emotion and such would have such strong personalities, from Axels seeming insanity, Marluxias arrogance, Larxenes rage, Demyxes both silly and severe sides, Vexens calculating and feelings of being disrespected, Xemnas' gand speaches, etc.

The members Riku encounters in CO aren't really shown much, so I can't really define that, but you see what I mean?

I dunno, it seems like for people that aren't supposed to feel emotions, Square went out of their way to make them feel a lot.

when they say they dont have emotions it means that they dont "feel" anything. im sure that u know that already and their nobodies would just act just like how their somebodies would act.

They remember how they were before they became nobodies. They just try to reinact it. I guess it's a big probability they would have the most distinct personalities, or perhaps only a few of them, since they were half the kh made characters when we met them.

That's a LOT of acting for nothing though.

what's the point, and are they really all supposed to be such great actors that they all seem more real than most of the other characters in KH?

What's the point?

They are probably exaggerating them a lot just because they're trying to act like they do feel things. Maybe. Or maybe the personality is more distinct when there are no emotions to back it up.

Lexeaus seemed to show pride like a lion and Zexion was very afraid of Riku. Just to help out. But yeah its all only an act based upon their memories. the only one i can think of that doesnt seem to act like his original is Xaldin. He seems much more unraveled in KHII than as Dilan in BBS.

Well, I know the novels imply that Larxene had an absolutely shitty life when she was a Somebody. Now that she actually has power, well, you get the idea.

You and your novel continuity :P

But yeah, I just don't see what the Organization stands to gain from pretending to have emotions. I doubt all 13 of them are so insecure they need to pretend to have them, and why would they act like they have emotions around each other? And why would they care if they don't have emotions in the first place?

And thanks TerraRedeemed, I forgot about Zexion being afraid, though I'm not so sure about the Lexeaus, he's just to quiet to really grasp what he's 'feeling'

Also, I agree about the Xaldin/Dilan thing. Seems dd that he's so drastically different from his somebody, comparatively at least.

Lol, it's canon as long as it doesn't contradict anything from the games, and it doesn't xD

What sucks is that, even though they provide quite a lot of new information... Kanemaki is really terrible at writing. I'd say the KH novels rank a 6/7 out of 10 on FFnet. The dialogue is really the only thing well written imo.

The Organization (for the most part) are trying to complete Kingdom Hearts for the sole reason of getting their hearts back and becoming whole again. Because they want their hearts so badly, they do everything they can to convey emotion to make up for their lack of hearts. I think these distinctive personalities appear on purpose to highlight their lack of hearts but their great desire to have them again.
