KeybladeMasterBalo 504 Posted January 25, 2019 25) Most esciting battle: That would be the Lingering Will vs. Terranort fight. That moment was so overwhelming as Terra lost his body, and then you had the chance to take it back, but eventually ended in pain anyways. 26) Favorite Kingdom Hearts Game for Story: This one is tough, but I think I liked BBS better in terms of story. The characters struggles, relations and fates, and how everything connected to the main story was sublime. 27) Favorite Kingdom Hearts Game for Gameplay: Definetely Kingdom Hearts II. This game had the chance to feel OP in all aspects and it offered a wide set of flashy abilities that only KHIII would be able to top and surpass. 1 The Unversed reacted to this
Tyranto Rex 277 Posted January 25, 2019 I feel Kingdom Hearts 1, Com, and 358/2 days have the best storytelling. And the funny thing is some of these have the worst gameplay. Kingdom Hearts 1 benefits having a simple story that recognizes what it is and uses it to its advantage. The simple story might be a downfall to some but for me it helps a whole lot. It focuses more on the characters and their development and while it has one or two plot twists it does not go overboard with them and it leads to development. Sora was in fact not supposed to be the chosen one but due to the strength of his heart and his friends the keyblade choses him anyway. It's kinda cheesy but that's what the game is. And another important aspect is that the story flows better. We have a reason to go to Disney worlds and there are conflicts there that go along with the main story. It's the one that feels less ashamed of it's Disney aspects AND Final Fantasy aspects. Even though COM has some of the same problems future games of the series has, it's still pretty easy to understand. And it's still compelling and interesting and mysterious. Both Sora and Riku go through a lot of emotions. 358/2 is a very character based game. In fact, it's the main reason to look into it. It has a lot of problems (if you are looking for great gameplay or cool interactions with Disney/Final Fantasy characters, skip this one), but it is one of the most emotional. 1 SweetYetSalty reacted to this

I could not get past COM's card system so I had to watch it in movie format. But I wasn't disappointed because I found it good. 358 feels more character driven then story driven even. The main plot isn't even world threatening or anything, it's a at home problem. It's only important because of the characters connected to it. It's a solid change of pace. 1 Tyranto Rex reacted to this
Fates Chance XIII 307 Posted January 25, 2019 Day 26: Favorite Game for The Story ....oh now we're getting to the hard questions...oh boy Ahhhhh....errrghh.....dont make me pick! Okay...the best overall game story I have to say is KH2. KH2 was the first KH game I ever played all the way through after I had only played some of Soras side of CoM a few years earlier. I had no idea what was going on in CoM and even less in KH2 cause I never finished CoM at that point! So I went in very blind and the story just had me absolutely enraptured. I did not leave my living room for days! I played until like 2am, went to sleep, woke up and kept playing until I finished it. I HAD to know: who was Roxas? Why was he part of the Org? Why did he leave? Why did he have to disappear? What was his connection to sora? Why are they calling Sora Roxas? What does the Org WANT?! Why was this all happening?? What happened before that I dont know about, and how is it affecting whats happening now? It sets up it's mystery so FREAKING WELL and just draws you in and gets you invested. Every step of the way, drip feeding you piece by piece clues to figure things out until finally all the pieces start to line up. And when the final pieces fall into place, and that wave of understanding and clarity come over you it was just so satisfying! And then you realize there are still yet things that you dont fully understand and you want nothing more than to find the missing pieces and line them up with everything else. It is something I really hope KH3 modeled itself after. Even though it is a conclusion, I want that mystery, that trying to figure everything out as I go again as I find clues along the way. And to finish with answers but more questions to explore too. It's characters too, even though almost all of then were completely foreign to me at the time (i didnt even know about FF) I got so invested in just the short amount of time I spent with them and I was left wanting more! It is, i think the best overall story for all those reasons. It did it's job as a story extremely well. And especially for someone coming in almost completely blind. Days story though for me is right behind it because the story didnt feel like it was the main focus there-instead it was on the characters. Which I feel the story was integrated well with the characters-as in the story and plot and mysteries are being driven by the characters and what is happening to them- but the story is this is whats happening to these characters to interrupt their lives and how they are reacting to it. WHICH IT DOES VERY WELL! I mean, Jesus H Christ, it freaking tore me apart the first time I played it, and I still get chills when I play through the story or hear Xions theme. It is a tragic story, an emotional story, a story that just makes you invested in it's characters and their fates and future. But when compared to KH2 which had a lot more going on, and a mystery which I feel they handled and presented and integrated to the story much better than Days did with theirs, KH2 wins out on this one for me. Runner ups are: CoM, KH1, BBS, 3D (love the mystery, hated the presentation or it'd be higher) and 0.2 (cool game, I just dont think they presented the story very well). I have not played Re:coded though I have watched the cutscenes and while it has it's moments, I think they handled the conclusion (revelation that sora has other hearts connected to him) way better in 3D with Riku finding Ansem, Ven, xion and Roxas. Maybe it flows better playing through it- and I'll have to do that some time- but I feel it wasnt the best story overall from what I saw. 2 SweetYetSalty and The Unversed reacted to this
Karxrida 154 Posted January 25, 2019 II is my GOAT but I cannot say it has a particularly well-told story. It has its strong moments, don't get me wrong, but overall it just kind of meanders and has a lot of issues with its Disney world implementation. Thank god we have Days, though. It's a character-driven tragedy of the highest caliber. 2 Allwil13 and SweetYetSalty reacted to this

LunaCatte 169 Posted January 26, 2019 -casually slides 358/2 Days in for everyones consideration- What? The story was good! I swear it's not just Xion being introduced and one of the main characters I promise! (Seriously, loved the story of 358 and I cry so much during it Q~Q) 3 SweetYetSalty, Karxrida and Fates Chance XIII reacted to this

Movies798 1,358 Posted January 26, 2019 Day 27: In my opinion, my favorite gameplay in the Kingdom Hearts series are the gameplays from Kingdom Hearts 2, Birth by Sleep, and Dream Drop Distance. Kingdom Hearts 2 has the Drive Forms, Birth by Sleep has the Melding Command, and Dream Drop Distance has Flowmotion. I enjoy the hell outta of them when I play those three games. But if I had to choose one then I choose Birth by Sleep, only because I love the Melding Command.
SweetYetSalty 330 Posted January 26, 2019 Day 27, favorite gameplay in Kingdom Hearts. For me, that would be Kingdom Hearts 2 and even Kingdom Hearts 1. I know some people think the combat in KH1 isn't that great, but I've always enjoyed it. One of my favorite things to do is finish off Cloud in the Coliseum with a Fire spell attack. Can't do that in KH2, because that last bar of life seems to only be taken out by a combo. Still KH2 and KH1 are my favorite gameplay games.
Novayon 192 Posted January 26, 2019 Day 27 KHII, of course
Allwil13 754 Posted January 26, 2019 Day 27 Favourite kingdom hearts game for gameplay. Kingdom Hearts 3D, no contest. The flowmotion was amazing and soooooo fun to use, and it made battles much more interesting as well, not to mention making travel in the worlds much more exciting. Also, the dream eaters gave me the freedom to set up my ideal party instead of restricting me to choose between three party members. If you wanted a party based around strength, then you just picked out some strength based dream eaters. Want a magic based party? Pick some magic based dream eaters. It was awesome! And it brought back the command deck system, which I also loved. Birth by sleep comes in a close second here because it was the first game in the series to introduce the command deck system, and in my opinion it did it the best. Melding the commands was great and connecting it to the abilities was a cool addition as well. This system allowed me to build each character in the most ideal way possible, and that freedom felt great!
LunaCatte 169 Posted January 26, 2019 I hate to say it but I had to award my Favorite Game in Terms of Gameplay to the shortest game of the series, 0.2. It is SUCH a fun game with a mashup of KH1/2 type combat, with Shotlocks and even some minor Flowmotion (my absolute favorite gameplay mechanic) with Aqua sliding on the trail of ice and being able to do a special attack off it! Its gameplay was designed to be like “this is what you will see in KH3” and I fell in LOVE with that play style and look forward to seeing how it plays in 3 when I’m able
Tyranto Rex 277 Posted January 26, 2019 The best gameplay is hands down KH2. Followed by Birth By Sleep and Dream Drop Distance. Even though I still have some issues with the story of KH2 it's still my favorite game of the series so far due to gameplay and the story is still pretty good. I think KH3 will have a hard time beating KH2 to be honest. But who knows? BBS and DDD, even though they both have their flaws, introduce great game mechanics that have made their ways into KH3 so thats pretty impressive. Karxrida 154 Posted January 26, 2019 II is da best. Re:coded's also pretty fun. It actually makes the Command Deck work without breaking the game or making normal combos worthless.
The Unversed 168 Posted January 27, 2019 (edited) Gotta catch up with these days! Day 24 - Me fav trio would have to be Destiny Trio Sora, Riku & Kairi! I really like the rivalry between Sora & Riku cause it hits me on a more personal lvl, since I've had many rivals in my past & currently still do I can understand & relate to theirs. Sora & Riku's rivalry best reminds me of how my rivalry with a cousin of mine used to be, always competing with each other to see who was the best & the strongest haha XD & Kairi just reminds me of my childhood friend who thanks to her, actually got me into KH to begin with. I also like the Oblivion Trio for similar reasons too, that being Sora, Replica Riku & Namine. Day 25 - MOST EXCITING BATTLE! That for me would be vsing Terra's Lingering Will in KH2FM! Cause not only was it a seriously epic fight! But it also showed me just how far the gap of keyblade skill & strength there is between Sora & those from BBS (Mainly Terra.). I was just amazed when learning that the skills & strength from those in BBS were way above Sora's, Riku's, Mickey's, Roxas's & Xion's! (Not including those still learning, like Lea & Kairi) But it looks like Sora & the rest have caught up a bit in KH3, since it shows Sora using transforming keyblade skills. Can't wait to play it! Day 26 - Fav KH game for it's story would so be BBS! I just loved the whole thing! haha XD The fact you get to experience 3 stories with an extra story for it's ending was awesome! I really liked seeing how each character's stories went, crossed over & finished. I also really like the era they were in too, where keyblade wielders actually had keyblade armor & could transform their keyblades into vehicles & travel to worlds through light portals too. Day 27 - Fav KH game for it's gameplay would be KH2! You just can't beat the classic battle ways haha XD it just stays on top, it's nice we got to try other battle styles in other KH games but, they just don't quite match up to KH2's. I'm glad they kept the same style for KH3. Edited January 27, 2019 by The Unversed
Movies798 1,358 Posted January 27, 2019 Day 28: "Are you what's trapping him in the nightmare? Because if you are...I'm what nightmare's fear!" - Riku from Dream Drop Distance. That's my favorite quote from Riku in Dream Drop Distance before his fight with the Anti-Black Coat Nightmare. In my opinion, hearing Riku saying that line was so badass and it gives me chills. Plus, what makes it even more epic was the music The Dread of the Night playing before the boss fight. It was such a cool line and seeing Riku in that moment reminded me of how much he's willing to fight for Sora just like he did in 358/2 Days and in Kingdom Hearts 2. One of my favorite moments in Dream Drop Distance.
Novayon 192 Posted January 27, 2019 Day 28. Almost there. "Behold the endless abyss! Within it lies the heart of all worlds: Kingdom Hearts! Look as hard as you are able. You'll not find even the smallest glimmer of light. From those dark depths are all hearts born, even yours. Darkness conquers all worlds!" - Ansem And a funny line I enjoy: "You're Stupid! Sooner or later they'll swallow your heart" - Sora
Arandom 0 Posted January 27, 2019 Day 28. I have two: The entire speech from Ansem in the End of the World in KH1 before you fight him and guardian the first time. I memorized it to the T because I kept dying on it when I first ran thru it. And: "My journey begins here and now. I'm going back to the real world, and then to Sora's side...I know the way. Consume the darkness, return it to light." -Riku
Allwil13 754 Posted January 27, 2019 Day 28 Favourite quote. Hoo boy, this is a tough one. I think I have to go with this one from Ansem just before the final battle in KH1, though: "Take a look at this tiny place. To the heart seeking freedom, this island is a prison surrounded by water. And so this boy sought out to escape from his prison. He sought a way to cross over into other worlds. And he opened his heart to darkness." To be honest, I never really thought much of this quote until I played Kingdom Hearts 3D, and then it was revealed that Young Xehanort also fit the description of this quote. It was revealed that Young Xehanort also desperately wanted to leave the Destiny Islands and explore other worlds, and that he evidently eventually managed to do so. When I replayed the first Kingdom Hearts and heard this quote, I was abruptly shocked by a new theory that the series' story was probably planned out right from the get go, and that this quote very well may have intentionally been referring to both Riku and Xehanort. It added this whole new level of connection between KH1 and its subsequent sequels that I'd never sensed before. 1 Fates Chance XIII reacted to this
SweetYetSalty 330 Posted January 27, 2019 Day 28, favorite quote? I guess those would be the things I repeat daily from the games. They are these ones then. "You clever little sneak!"-Xigbar "I don't get it. The candelabra doesn't want to be a candelabra?"-Roxas "But Sora, I thought you loved to play games."-Riku "Hmm...when it doubt...give it a good smack?"-Xion "Sora you lazy bum. I knew I'd find you snoozing down here."-Kairi "How dare you get a happy ending? How dare you?"-Hades "Hello there, somebody I don't know."-Winnie the Pooh "Kingdom Hearts is light!"-Sora "My friends are my power!"-Sora again So yeah. Those are the quotes I repeat the most whenever I play a KH game. 1 Fates Chance XIII reacted to this
