Gamescom event experiences

I had really a great time at Gamescom. I didn't expect that you need to wait hours for a demo.

But KH3 was fantastic there Here are a few pics:

Hello everyone I thought I maybe could do a little report on my gamescom experience. I apologize in advance for everything that I cant tell you anything about or that I may have forgotten since it is a really big event.So lets start

 

The arrivial  

 

Me and my Brother were there for 2 days friday and saturday we arrived by train and were there around the same time they opend up. We also bought some burgers from Mc Donalds a little bit bread apples and a few other sneaks (you dont want to buy food there) we got some pretty little ribbon to show that we were atleast 18. They than looked inside our bags, well if you want to call someone looking inside it for 2 seconds and saying "yea looks good enough" Security. I always said that I dont think that a bunch of nerds a valuable terrorist target but whatever. All we then had to do was walking for 5 minutes around a lot of corners so the massive amount of people is disspersed a little and than scan our tickets at the entrance.

 

Inside the Exhibit hall

 

The entire area has 11 Halls. 1-4  were closed, 11 was entrance and exist, 6-9 is were the big guns are, hall 5.1+5.2 (they have two floors) are merchendise area. we only decided to look around that only once and I bought a 10 anniversary T-shirt which unlike the other stuff can only be bought at the event and no were else. Hall 10 second floor is a family and friends area that means there are lots of different things many of whom dont have anything to do with games at all. There a lot of universitys who want to Master IT and stuff or companys that want to show of their newest graphics card, tennis, skateboarding, cosplay competitions, the USK the goverment agency that settles the appropriate age for games and so on.

 

The second half of hall 10 than acctually was game releated only it was the infamous retro corner were original hard and software from 1970-1999 is set up and you can actually play a lot of the old games on the old devices (and your ears are gonna hurt after a while because the old TV sets have this annoying PEEEEEEEP sound)

 

First floor of hall 10 there was a indie developer area which to be perfectly honest with you is the one and only reason why me and my brother go to the gamescom. I am not even lying the reason for this is that he and I think that Independent developers more often than not have originals Ideas Plus they dont have the fourtune triple A titles have namely that you will hear about them regardless if you want or not. And this year again me and my bro we had several games that we know we never would have heard about if it had not been for the gamescom.

 

 

Indepentend Developers

 

First of there was a game called Phogs

 

basically its catdog the game only in this case Dogdog. You play as a creature whos both ends are two dog heads and you have to solve riddles. The fun thing is each head is controlled by one of your controll sticks and if you dont move one of em for a short time the other falls asleep and you drag him around.

 

Tiny tanks

 

Four players each Plays a tank, one of the guys from the small studio called it A bit like mario party BUT you dont only shot at one another! there are a lot of different goals coloring the area, who can make the most back flips etc

 

The Inner Friend

 

a super creepy game that has good chances of becoming the next little nightmares you play as mannequin boy that trys to survive in a place that comes across as the nightmare levels of Hello neighbour, cant tell you much about the story because we had no chance to actually play it but we watchet someone else play it and even without any sound it was very disturbing

 

Robotorium

 

a turn based dungeon crawler where robots have gained personhood and now try to fight for their freedom. Interesting and well balanced and the fights took just long enough of course this was just the first level

 

Synthetik

 

A 2.D game were you run around and shot robots. Here when you relload your weaopon and it isnt empty yet your lose ammo and you have to drop your empty magazin before you can reload. Lots of different weapons and using crates and other stuff to hide behind.

 

Good company

 

you are a guy who creates a start up company. You first begin in your grandmas garage and become bigger and bigger. The idea feels very real to what you would expect the real life process to work like. First you do everything yourself than you hire someone who works at the assembly line than you buy an automatic system while other workers to other tasks. New products need to be invented and sold cool idea.

 

Convention Simulator

 

Its basically like good company but I bring it up because the Idea is so funny and the place is perfect to reveal it. As the name says you are a guy who trys to make convetions (just as the one that you are in now) as profitable as possible 

 

Star Renegades

 

another turn based game in 2D look, my brother won a T-shirt at their booth which is nice

 

Far Lone Sails (My personal favorite)

 

It is a game that allready is out for a longer time but now gets a PS4 release. In the game the world went through a mad max style apocolypse and you are a little girl that trys to keep a bigh tank like machine alive to get you through  the desert. On your way you find boxes to create fuel. One of the developers spoke with us while we were playing and she said it is interesting to see how each and Every person figures out stuff and than behaves differently in this game. If you are to hasty you will get stook in the desert and need to walk a ling way to bring new fuel to your "car" It has great music and great enviroment and I look forward to play it on PC

 

Through  the darkest of times

 

Had no chance to play it but It look like a very story, very text driven game. Its about many different people in the resistance during WWII. Fun fact its one of the first games in germany that have come out with swastikas since the Ban on them in video games has been lifted which is EXTREMLY good news for recognition of video games as an artform here which is a pretty big deal

 

Witch it

 

hide and seek with witches. You can turn yourself into objects allready exits in garrys mod.

 

Our memorie of us

 

two girls that live in an dictatorship and try to handle this by escaping to their fantasy world.

 

 

 

Farming simulator 2019

 

I played it ironaclly

 

 

Fortnite/world of tanks/Torchlight

 

I dont know why people go to a convention to play a game that has been out for years. I mean a fan event where you dont have to wait in line would make a lot of more sense

 

Diablo 3 (switch version)

 

It works and plays just as good as on the PC but I am not going to pay 60 bucks for it just for the couch upgrade

 

The Elder scrolls online summerset

 

Me and my brother needed 20 minutes to understand how the game works should have gone to world of warcraft instead

 

Spyro Reignited

 

it looks so nice and tasty, but I realized that it was a bit to fast for my eyes but that was more because I was to close with my face to the TV screen had no other choice if I had played it at home It would have worked much better for me. There was a short demo from each spyro game spyro 2 was still the best the introduction videos are translated very well into the new ara, I am really happy that they said they will take creative freedom with the levels so that we can see a lot of new stuff in the old still sad it will take till november. 

 

Strange thing they had more than one booth of spyro in different halls Dunno maybe there was not such a good planning on their part.

 

 

Tropico 6

 

I never played a tropico before so I completly ruined my country buuuuut! I got saved by aid from the european union now i want to be a dictator to   

 

Fallout 76

 

that presentation was nohting but pathetic, to me it was my least favorit part of the weekend all they did was showing us the promo cartoons from vault tech...which are ALL allready on youtube the only new thing was one of the creators of fallout trying to speak german and vault boy masks we got for free

 

 

Facebook games

 

I have no idea....

 

Kingdom hearts 3

 

and now the moment you all have been waiting for! I am so glad I got to play this game when we were there on friday there was no way getting in and on saturday I allready had given up. It was sheer look that it worked out in the end (the light was guiding me i guess) Square enix had several screens with the new dragon quest right next to KH3 and as I was beginning to play they opend up the line again. They had a very smart system, they would open the line close it when it was full and than open it up when it was relatively empty which made it possible to drive away people who would constantly fill it up.

 

Anyway we waited for an hour and then it was our turn. You could choose between toy story and Olympus, most people took toy world but I could see while I was waiting that It had a ot of cutscenes and I really dont wont to spoil me anything so I took olympus where the whole demo is one  titan fight.

 

And people it was nothing but AMAZING so many colors I thought I was on an LSD trip, fast combat, dozens of new abilitis I also almost died. The gameplay is Kh2 oriented with a couple of elements from birth by sleep. It made so much fun you guys. Sadly I was only allowed to play one demo and not both of them and I really didn´t want to wait another 2 hours also it was time for us to catch our train anyway.
