Kairi lifted her other hand to Sora's arm. "You got there in time," she promised him. He and Roxas showed up before anything terrible happened, before any real lines were crossed. If it weren't for him, she wouldn't have had the opportunity to escape. Namine either.

"I still feel like we should have done more," Sora said lowly. Things hadn't gone as far as they could have, but they still went far. Too far.

Kairi took a step forward, closer to Sora. Her hand remained in his, but the other went to his chest. "Sora, look at me," she asked of him. She wanted to tell him something, but she needed him to look her in the eye. Riku's eyes couldn't lie, but...neither could hers.

His eyes met hers, and there was a sadness that he knew he couldn't hide from her in them. A sense of failure. How could she think he was hero when he could barely make it in time to help?

Kairi tilted her head, finding the hurt in Sora's eyes. "I'm okay. I'm here...with you," she told him, glancing down at his chest. She could feel his heart beat under her hand. "And I promise that you were there for me when I needed you. If you hadn't shown up when you did, something really bad could have happened to me tonight. You gave me the opportunity to get away from him, whether you can see it or not." Kairi met his pretty blue eyes again. "Trust me when I say that, okay?" She would never lie to him about this kind of thing. It was too important. "And thank you again for sticking up for me. That means more than you know."

He breathed in heavily, and brought her close to him again. "Thank you," he murmured, "I needed to hear that. I never want to let you down. Those are guys are really lucky to be leaving with minimal injuries." He said the last part a little more darkly. If the girls hadn't been there, if the theater security hadn't been there...Sora was sure the damage would have been more than a few bruises and a broken nose for those two.

Kairi sucked in a silent breath when Sora pulled her in again, not that she didn't like it. In fact...she loved it. It felt right. "I know," she murmured. Travis nearly got beaten to a pulp but...he wasn't worth it. He was a lowlife creep who would get his karma soon enough. Sora didn't need to deliver it. She lifted her hand to Sora's cheek, delicately touching his face before she pushed herself onto her toes, placing a gentle kiss of gratitude and comfort to his cheek. She hoped that would help him feel more secure in his decision to hold back and leave with her.

Sora's eyes widened at the kiss. The subtle and delicate brush of her lips made his entire body buzz with warm heat; Sora touched the spot on his cheek, grinning widely. It made his anger dissolve. Not entirely, but enough to resist the primal urge to hunt Travis down with his keyblade. "Heh, I think we're getting close to the dorms now, huh? I need to grab a few things first from my room though."

That grin had Kairi smiling too. "Right," she said with a faint nod. She took a step toward their path, pulling gently at the hand she still held so he could walk with her. Once they got to the dorms, she would talk to Namine about Sora staying. Just the fact that he agreed made Kairi giddy.

Naminé kept her hand wound firmly around Roxas's as they left the theater, willing him to stay by her side and not make a second dive towards Owen. Not that I blame him, but Roxas can't end up expelled from the university over Owen. She was quiet for another minute, playing with a number of responses before settling on: "Thank you, Roxas."

Roxas looked over at Namine. "What for?" he asked lowly, eyebrows furrowing. He didn't understand. He did nothing but make that situation worse. Well, that wasn't entirely true--it was Owen who made it worse, but Roxas fell right into his trap. His blood still boiled at the comments that punk made. Roxas couldn't believe someone could say such things about Namine.

Naminé, her lips pulled into a gentle smile, squeezed the boy's hand affectionately. "For coming. I felt better seeing you there. It gave me the strength to break away from Owen," Naminé explained.

It took Roxas a moment to really believe what she said. He...gave her strength? "Oh..." he muttered, looking away shyly. "It was nothing." She probably saw the fury in his eyes the second he realized her predicament, but...the rest just came naturally. He would always be there for her.

"It was everything," Naminé insisted. She then drew a deep breath and released it shakily. "I was...really scared. He..." She couldn't even say his name aloud. Even the syllables felt slimy. "It was like before but worse. I thought he was going to do something really bad to me, and he wouldn't stop." Her voice had become higher, the words leaving quickly. The idea of anyone touching her like that made her sick. Roxas is the only one I want to be close to...

Roxas's frown deepened with every word. He closed his eyes as they walked, the image of Owen's hands on Namine's body flashing back. "I should have gotten there faster. I knew something was wrong," he explained. The girls took too long. He knew something wasn't right, and yet he did nothing. "I'm sorry I was late, Namine."

Naminé shook her head. "It's not your fault. No one knew how far they'd try to take things." Travis's line about 'taking turns' made her shudder abruptly. How could people be that vile and sleep at night? Naminé, even as a Nobody, was haunted by her actions in Castle Oblivion. "And the security wasn't doing enough to help. They should have been there sooner."

"I guess," Roxas agreed quietly. The officers were morons. It took them way too long to come to their aid. He released a heavy breath and looked at the girl next to him. She was beautiful, inside and out. How could someone not want to be with her? But Owen... He took it too far. Roxas squeezed her hand. "Are you going to be okay?"

Naminé tried to offer a radiant smile but could only muster a weak twitch of the lips. "I...Will you stay with me tonight?" she asked meekly. Her face was alight with a bright red hue, and Naminé was happy it was just the two of them. I wonder how things are going with Sora and Kairi?

Roxas slowed their walk at the question. Stay the night? he repeated in confusion. Wait, stay the night?! A blush crept up his neck toward his cheeks, and since the sun was setting, he hoped the lack of light made it less obvious. Of course, he thought he caught a hint of a blush on Namine's face too. "Kairi won't mind?" he asked softly, keeping his grasp on her hand. He wouldn't mind staying the night, not at all. Roxas would get more time with Namine, and he could be there for her. He didn't exactly want to leave her side after tonight anyway.

"I-I don't think so," Naminé stuttered, avoiding his gaze. Maybe she should text her first? "Um...but...you're okay with that?" She didn't want to force him to stay with her. Even if being without him would make the night unbearable, I don't want him to feel obligated...Roxas had already done so much for her that the girl felt selfish to keep asking for more and more of his time. She was sure Alexis would call her behavior desperate...Not that it should matter, Naminé told herself. Those girls didn't know anything.

Roxas smiled faintly, even if Namine wasn't looking. His thumb glided over the back of her hand, a touch light and soothing. He could tell she was nervous, but she didn't need to be. Not with him. "Yeah," he answered, nodding. "I want to be there for you tonight, if you'll have me." He didn't want to leave her side, not tonight. Not ever, really, but...especially not tonight.

She leaned into his touch, the brush of his thumb soothing. "Of course. I trust you, Roxas," she affirmed quietly. He was the person she trusted most. Naminé felt her heart grow warm at his declaration. It made her feel good to know that he wanted to be there with her. Support her. Naminé didn't think there was another person she connected with as well as she did with him.

Roxas's smile turned warm. "Good," he replied softly. Her trust in him meant the world to him. And her opinion of him mattered more than anyone else's. He wouldn't let her down; he was no Owen. "I'll need to get a few things from my room. Care if we take a little detour?" They were almost to the dorms anyway.

"I think I can spare an extra minute or two," she teased lightly. Part of her was giddy now. She brought her phone out and texted Kairi. 'Is it okay if Roxas spends the night?' If her best friend wasn't comfortable, Naminé would obviously respect that, but she had a feeling it might not just be the three of them tonight anyway.

Kairi pulled her phone out of her back pocket as she and Sora started for the dorms. She smiled at her text message. "Looks like I'm not the only one who wants someone to stay tonight," she chimed, showing Sora the screen. Namine wanted Roxas to stay too! Good thing their dorm room was a little on the spacious side; they had a bit more room than other students.
