aoi hoshi 3 Posted September 6, 2018 "How much do you remember...about your old life I mean?" Sora asked. They never talked much about Kairi's history with this world, partly because the islands were her home now, but also because Sora found himself afraid to drudge up bad memories. Forever Love 82 Posted September 6, 2018 Kairi looked down at the flower in her hands. “Not a lot. Very little, if anything at all,” she said, eyebrows furrowing. It was...sad. She remembered her grandmother of course, but Aqua was a faint memory, as were her parents. “I remember good things, sure, but...I remember the bad stuff too.” She had memory of the fall of Radiant Garden, but it was faint. aoi hoshi 3 Posted September 6, 2018 “Oh, well, we don’t have to talk about it,” Sora said quietly. He could only imagine a five year old Kairi enduring the fall of her world. It was hard enough seeing the islands swallowed by darkness as a teenager.
Forever Love 82 Posted September 6, 2018 Kairi smiled sadly, and appreciatively. “Right. Well, should I make you a flower crown like I used to?” she asked, tilting her head. She then approached Sora and placed the daisy behind his ear. The sight brought a giggle out of her. Laughter was much better than sadness, regarding Noel or her past. aoi hoshi 3 Posted September 6, 2018 “I do like crowns,” Sora teased, showing off the silver pendant hanging from his neck. He was happy to see her smile again. In that moment, Sora realized he would do anything to keep it. Noel may have broken it, but Sora would mend it no matter how long it took.
Forever Love 82 Posted September 6, 2018 “Touché,” Kairi agreed with the same smile. “Help me find flowers!” Her voice held some excitement to it, much like a child’s would. She turned and started her search, plucking a few purple and pink ones. They weren’t exactly “masculine” colors, but Sora wouldn’t mind, right?
aoi hoshi 3 Posted September 6, 2018 Sora followed Kairi’s lead and started to collect an array of different flowers until a small bouquet was gathered in his hands. “I can make you one too!” He exclaimed with just as much child-like fervor. Sora still was a kid at heart no matter how old he became.
Forever Love 82 Posted September 6, 2018 Kairi looked over her shoulder. “Okay! And then we can take a picture, for keepsake.” The flowers would eventually wilt, but a photograph would be nice to hang in her room. It would also make her laugh every time she looked at it. aoi hoshi 3 Posted September 6, 2018 Sora nodded happily. Another memory made between them. I can find a frame for the picture too. I'm sure Riku and Roxas will tease me, but a picture of her smile is worth it. "Over here!" Sora called, gesturing to a bench near a bed of roses. They could weave their flower crowns here. Forever Love 82 Posted September 6, 2018 Kairi followed Sora’s gesture and joined him on the bench. She set her flowers to her side. “You remember how to do this, right?” They hadn’t done it since they were kids, before the keyblade. It had been a long time. Too long since they had done anything remotely childish.
aoi hoshi 3 Posted September 6, 2018 Sora took a pink lily and a white daisy and began intertwining the stems. "I think I remember." It would be fun seeing Kairi wear a crown. She was a princess after all.
Forever Love 82 Posted September 6, 2018 Kairi smiled and began to work. She and Sora laced their crowns in silence, but it was comfortable—nice. There were never any uncomfortable silences with Sora. He always made her feel at home. When she had him for company, Kairi felt more like herself. He brought out the best in her, always. aoi hoshi 3 Posted September 6, 2018 (edited) When Sora finished his crown, he placed it onto of Kairi's head with great care. The yellows, blues, and pinks popped. "It looks perfect." You look perfect. Edited September 6, 2018 by aoi hoshi
Forever Love 82 Posted September 6, 2018 (edited) Kairi blushed faintly. “Your turn,” she told him. She placed the crown on his head and laughed softly. Sora looked adorable. She definitely had to get a picture of this. “My Prince Charming!” Edited September 6, 2018 by Forever Love
aoi hoshi 3 Posted September 6, 2018 "Heh, heh," Sora rubbed the back of his head, "Thanks. You look ready for the ball yourself."
Forever Love 82 Posted September 6, 2018 (edited) Kairi tilted her head. “Every princess needs a prince, right?” She played off her Princess of Heart title, something she didn’t usually do; it was a title that carried serious weight. “That means you’d have to dance with me.” Edited September 6, 2018 by Forever Love
aoi hoshi 3 Posted September 6, 2018 Sora raised a brow and stood up; he extended a hand towards her and bowed with as much grace as he could muster. "Shall we then, princess?" The air around them was calm, silent, but his heart was a thundering mess.
Forever Love 82 Posted September 6, 2018 Kairi’s blush deepened as she nodded. “We shall,” she agreed softly, placing her hand in Sora’s and rising to her feet. She briefly thought of their dance outside Snow’s party, but this seemed more intimate. There was more purity with this one, more innocence and less alcohol and clumsy feet. It would be great. aoi hoshi 3 Posted September 8, 2018 Sora hummed the a song again, but this time it was an older tune. One they hadn't heard since before the islands fell. There was no one else in the garden, so Sora swept Kairi across the gardens as if they were attending their own private ball.
Forever Love 82 Posted September 8, 2018 Kairi blushed madly as she danced with Sora. To avoid eye contact, she looked down at her feet as they danced, making sure she didn't step on his toes. Princesses were supposed to be graceful, light on their feet, excellent dancers. She had never attended a ball, so she couldn't say how well she was doing. But Sora... "You're a good dancer," she told him, speaking softly to not disrupt the atmostphere. Her eyes found his as she said this, his hum reaching her ears as the floral scent of the gardens flooded the air.
aoi hoshi 3 Posted September 8, 2018 He gave her a toothy grin and winked. "I picked up a few steps when I was in Corona." Dancing with Rapunzel in the square had made him want to dance with Kairi even more. One day, he hoped to take her there. We could see the floating lanterns together too...Though that was overtly romantic. Which would be okay with Sora...
Forever Love 82 Posted September 8, 2018 "...Rapunzel, right?" Kairi smiled to herself. "Wish I could have met her. I didn't really get to go very many worlds myself." She and Lea had been training for the big battle most of the time. Corona was a place she hadn't been able to visit, but the way Sora spoke of it in the past, she knew she would have loved it. And that wink Sora just gave her? That sent Kairi's heart into a tizzy. Did he know how attractive he was, or was he completely oblivious?
aoi hoshi 3 Posted September 8, 2018 "Yeah, she was the princess of that world. We helped her find her parents," Sora explained. He wanted to help Kairi find her family too--the one that she lost. "I'll have to bring you there sometime. There are a lot of flowers." Rapunzel could braid flowers into her hair; the thought made Sora blush. Kairi would look so beautiful... Forever Love 82 Posted September 8, 2018 "Looking forward to it already," Kairi replied with a tilt of her head, smile remaining. It was easy to smile around Sora. He was kind of like sunshine in that way--you couldn't really be upset when he was around. She had already come to the realization that Sora was her light. aoi hoshi 3 Posted September 8, 2018 "We can go during one of our breaks," Sora offered. Maybe it could even be just the two of them. Though I'm sure Riku and Roxas would like to bring the other girls too.
