Roleplay The College Chronicles (1x1 with aoi hoshi)

She giggled more easily now and used his hand to lift herself up off the ground. "Yeah," she agreed with a cheerful nod, "I'd like that. We can play some games too before you go on stage!" How did he always know how to make her feel better? The warmth in her heart grew, but the sensation was natural. Filled her with a renewed sense of hope.

Roxas rose to his feet as well. "Sounds good," he replied with a nod. He was a bit nervous about performing tomorrow, but being with Namine before would help him feel better. She had a calming aura that he appreciated more than she probably knew.

"Want to get something eat now though? Your last meal...," she sighed again thinking of the squished paper bag, "met an untimely end unfortunately. We would probably split something even. I didn't eat much for lunch anyway." Which probably wasn't her best idea. Her stomach agreed with a small growl; Naminé blushed.

Roxas laughed softly. "Sure. C'mon," he insisted. He kept his grasp on her hand and started away from their spot behind the science building. There was a nice cafe not too far from here; they could get something there. His treat, of course.

She followed beside him, her hand fit snugly within his. She wondered what those two girls would think? They would probably be furious. The thought made her giggle. Even if they weren't dating (though she wished they could). "Over there, right? I've heard they sell some homemade candies too."

The next day

Lightning walked leisurely beside Riku as they entered the festival. It was crowded and lively, but that meant it was successful. A bit of pride swelled in her chest, since she helped. She looked over at Riku. She couldn't deny her attraction any longer--he was as handsome as ever. Light sought Serah's help for her outfit for tonight, since she wanted to dress a bit nicer for their...date. She wore a crop top (Serah insisted she show off her waistline and belly piercing) and some shorts, though she made sure to wear sneakers; she wouldn't be caught dead in heels. Her hair was in a ponytail to fight the heat. Light felt comfortable despite showing some extra skin. Riku looked good too.

"What do you want to do first?" Riku asked, looking to his date with a happy grin. He couldn't hide his excitement at all. It had built in his chest all week, and now...they were finally here together. Lightning's attire was different this time, but Riku couldn't deny that he liked it. The crop top especially...though he kept the thought to himself even as his tropical colored eyes occasionally wandered to admire her exposed alabaster skin. The keyblade master was a little surprised by the piercing, however. Not unpleasantly though. The pink gem winked under the carnival lights as if teasing him.

Lightning, attentive as ever, caught Riku's wandering gaze. It surprisingly gave her a little more confidence. "Well, we're here on a bet...kind of," she started, smiling to herself. "So we can play another game, right?" There were plenty of games to choose from, though. She wondered how they would decide.

Riku chuckled, eyes glinting with a competitive edge. "And what do I win if you lose this time? I like this prize quite a bit." He gave her a cheeky grin then. What game would they play? Another shooter game? On the other side of them, there were a series of different carnival games. Ring toss, balloon darts...

Light fought a blush. He liked this prize... He liked being on this date with her. Good to know... "Hm. Confident," she noted of his attitude. Riku thought she would lose, huh? "Considering we both have good aim, how about some balloon darts?" She motioned to the stand. "As for what you win...I haven't decided." She could flirt, if that was his game. A few guys in her past told her she could be quite seductive, and that was when she hadn't been trying.

"Riku's chuckle turned into a laugh. "Sounds good to me." She really had a quick wit. He wondered if she knew how much more attractive that made her to him? "I can give you a few suggestions on a prize though," he teased, gaze lingering on her lips as they walked over to the ballon darts.

The man at the booth, who was tall and gangly, rolled his eyes at their flirtatious display. He prepped their sets darts and hoped they would leave sooner rather than later. "How many?"

Lightning wasn't sure how to take Riku's tease. She bit her lip as she looked at him, but then she turned her attention to the carnival worker. "Six," she requested. Three darts per person. It would make things a little more difficult, but Lightning wasn't too worried. She could do this, easy.

Riku slid the carnival worked the money; he took one of the darts and rolled the dingy metal between his fingers. "Ready?" Eyes glinting mischievously, Riku aimed his first dart at a grey balloon near the top. It was small and slightly shriveled, but Riku's throw was hard enough to pierce it. A small pop noise followed, and Riku grinned at his date. "Impressed?"

Lightning chuckled a little. "Not quite," she smirked, nudging Riku a little with her elbow as she stepped up to throw her own dart. She closed one eye to focus her aim, a purple balloon just below Riku's. She threw it--as expected--with perfect aim. It popped immediately and she turned to her date. Her smirk remained as she gazed at him. Are you impressed?

Riku seemed to read her thoughts as his smirk widened. "Just as I expected," he told her and picked up his second dart. He shot down a blue one towards the middle. It was plump with air, so it popped with a loud bang. "Your turn now." He gestured towards her two remaining darts. Why was it so fun competing with Lightning?

Lightning had no problem throwing her next dart and hitting her target. Since this was their last throw, she looked to Riku. "New challenge," she declared, smirk still present. "You pick my target and I pick yours. Sound good?" It would at least be more interesting this way.

Riku quirked an eyebrow in interest. "I like how you think. Alright," Riku squared his shoulders and pointed up at a smaller balloon clinging to the right side of the board. "That one right there."

Lightning released a small "hmph" in response. Should've known, she thought. To get to that particular balloon, she took a step over, closer to Riku. She was very much in his space, but she doubted he would mind. Instead of focusing on that, she closed one eye and threw her dart. There was a loud pop and pieces of the balloon fell to the ground. She then turned her head to look at him, actually liking this close proximity. What was it about him that made her feel so...safe?

Riku covered his laughs halfheartedly behind his hand. "Should have known. You really are amazing," he complimented, taking his last dart. "Now, which one should I hit?" There were a number of near impossible targets for him too. He scanned the potential targets but found himself distracted by their close proximity. At his side, his fingers twitched at the thought of holding her. He wanted to be closer.

"You get the other corner," Lightning told him, voice softer given their closeness. Riku had to hit the highest balloon on the farthest corner of the board, opposite hers. Fair was fair, right? She had a feeling he could do it too; he had excellent accuracy for someone who hadn't shot a gun before. Where did his aim come from? How did he learn to hit his targets?

Riku squinted up at the red balloon but didn't feel intimidated. He had made shots harder than that during the fight against Xehanort. "Okay. Have you decided on a prize then?" Riku asked. His last dart pierced the small red balloon. "Because I just hit all my targets." He could only imagine what this prize would entail...

The guy working the game let out a clearly unethusiastic "winner" as he added up their prizes. Lightning kept her eyes on Riku though. Even more handsome up close, she realized. His confidence definitely made him more attractive. "Hmm," she hummed. "Okay...tell me something about yourself. Something not a lot of people know." Dates were meant to bring people closer, right? It was time for them to get to know each other better. She would take advantage.

Riku considered the question, bringing a hand to his chin. "Hmm...I guess...," he paused and brought his lips to her ear. "I'm a skilled swordsman. I can wield a blade easy." The blade he was alluding to was obviously a keyblade, but swords were close enough, right?

Lightning fought the chills that ran up her spine at the whisper. She instead focused on his confession. Swordsman? "No kidding?" she asked, realizing they hadn't picked their actual prizes from the game. The worker got impatient and gave them each a small bag of cotton candy and went back to sitting on his stool. Regardless, Lightning was surprised by Riku's skill. So that was where he got his accuracy from...

Riku ripped off a piece of cotton candy and let the sugar dissolve on his tongue. "Yup. What about you? What's something nobody knows about you?" He could only imagine what kind of revelation she would unveil from this fun little bet.
