PromisedOath 26 Posted July 8, 2018 (edited) Just curious to see who everyone wants to become a Guardian/defender of the light? A lot of speculation leads us to Braig or Vanitas, but there's always the possibility of a curveball or Xehanort catching a traitor but missing another. So thoughts? I personally wanna see Saix get his much needed redemption. Karxrida 154 Posted July 8, 2018 I want to see Xehanort betray Xehanort because Xehanort would never see it coming. Maybe Xehanort could also get in on it. Alternatively, nobody betrays Xehanort and Xion just shanks him. 6 The Transcendent Key, Tyranto Rex, Connected and 3 others reacted to this
littleTSUBAME 483 Posted July 8, 2018 (edited) Hmm... not that I want him to join the Lights, but I really want to see Braig betray Xehanort and have his own schemes. Just an old theory that I'm somehow very fixated on. Edit: oh, and it WOULD be really great if Isa switched sides somewhere along the way! Allwil13 754 Posted July 8, 2018 I think if anyone is going to do that, it would be Isa. I could definitely see Braig betraying Xehanort but not to help the heroes. I've always suspected he has his own plans in mind. Vanitas would be an interesting curveball, however. I would love to see a development like that. But the one that makes the most sense to me to become a guardian of light would be Isa.
Joanie 291 Posted July 8, 2018 Marluxia, Vanitas, or Aqua. Marluxia would become a fourth party. He hasn't ever been loyal to the Organisation. Vanitas would also become a fourth party as well. Maybe he gets tired of following orders. Aqua is obvious. She has no reason to follow Xehanort and she may break free of his control. Maybe seeing Ventus sets her off. 2 The Transcendent Key and Tyranto Rex reacted to this
Dave 5,715 Posted July 8, 2018 I think that every incarnation of Xehanort has anticipated the other Xehanorts' every move, and will ultimately destroy one another underneath a tonnage of contingency plans. 6 Jingilator, Tyranto Rex, Handsome_the_Wise and 3 others reacted to this

Tyranto Rex 277 Posted July 9, 2018 In all honesty, I feel logically they would all betray him. I don't see any of them really wanting to just become Xehanort's puppet.

Dagesh Lene 366 Posted July 9, 2018 (edited) I think that if anyone has shown the most signs of possibly betraying Master Xehanort, it's Braig/Xigbar. Granted, we haven't seen how the other seekers of darkness are acting outside of the little revealed of them in the trailers, but Braig/Xigbar has been shown to think that Master Xehanort is hiding something on two separate occasions. The first time was while he was a member of Organization XIII. He tried to find out if Zexion knew who Xemnas was talking to in the Chamber of Repose and what they were talking about, saying to him, "Isn't it time you told me about Xemnas' secret?" When Zexion doesn't answer him, telling him to focus on his duties since the Organization had to prepare their new facility, Castle Oblivion, he then told Zexion that Xemnas was after something within Castle Oblivion that he didn't tell them about, the Chamber of Waking, saying to him, "Did you know there's something he didn't share?" The second time was in the Re:coded secret ending in Kingdom Hearts 2.5. He was talking to Young Xehanort after everyone in Organization XIII became complete people again. During their conversation, he said to Young Xehanort, "Man, does that Xehanort scare me like nobody's business, the way he can see into minds. And it doesn't help that no one knows what it is that the old man wants. I wonder if even you know what's going on inside your own head." This seems to me like he was trying to get Young Xehanort to reveal what Master Xehanort was planning, but when Young Xehanort doesn't give him a good answer, he says, "Whatever. I got my hands full with my own plans." I don't know what he meant by this. Did he mean that he was carrying out something else that Master Xehanort wanted him to do, especially since he was not only telling Young Xehanort this, which would seem stupid if he meant that he was planning something of his own, but also immediately asked Young Xehanort, "So, which poor soul will it be?", which implies that he was referring to something that Master Xehanort wanted him to do. However, he could have been referring to his own plans, which may end up being to betray Master Xehanort. One last point: why would someone willingly go along with Master Xehanort's plan if they know that they will end up becoming Xehanort in the end? Unless Master Xehanort took him over really early on since we see him with the yellow eye and pointy ears even in Birth by Sleep, which would explain why he went along with it. However, maybe he is just pretending to go along with it in order to catch Master Xehanort off guard at just the right moment, like maybe once the χ-Blade is forged. I guess we will have to wait and see. Edited July 9, 2018 by Dagesh Lene 1 The Transcendent Key reacted to this
Iamkingdomhearts1000 1,170 Posted July 9, 2018 Saix or Marluxia, the latter because of him supposedly being Lauriam and/or because he was the main antagonist besides Xehanort in a Kingdom Hearts game, namely Chain of Memories.
Matthew Dickendasher 33 Posted July 9, 2018 Definitely, Marluxia considering Nomura said we will learn about his character in both kingdom hearts 3 and Union Cross. Highly possible he might betray them and Braig might be working with him.
Wyatt Tyson 66 Posted July 9, 2018 Anyone thinking any of Xehanort's vessels will betray him are...delusional. He can simply make them behave through mind control if they act up. They belong to him.
Tyranto Rex 277 Posted July 9, 2018 It could be that he's super charismatic and made the idea seem super appealing. I guess it just depends. Maybe they'll show just how he got everyone under control? I think that if anyone has shown the most signs of possibly betraying Master Xehanort, it's Braig/Xigbar. Granted, we haven't seen how the other seekers of darkness are acting outside of the little revealed of them in the trailers, but Braig/Xigbar has been shown to think that Master Xehanort is hiding something on two separate occasions." That would be interesting since he (along with Saix) at first glance seems like the most loyal. So it would be a good twist. But another thing is would the betrayer betray Xehanort for the good side, or would they do it for their own purposes?
Dagesh Lene 366 Posted July 9, 2018 But another thing is would the betrayer betray Xehanort for the good side, or would they do it for their own purposes? Depending on which character it is, I think it could go either way. For example, if one of the good guys was possessed by Xehanort but had enough free will left to betray him, they would most definitely betray him for the good side. However, if it's anyone else, I think that they would betray him for their own purposes. 1 Tyranto Rex reacted to this
Dustin Lübbers 933 Posted July 9, 2018 What I would love as a betrayel would be not by any Person but by the darkness, here is why It would be an excellent call back to the very first kingdom hearts were one of the main lessons was Darkness cannot be controlled it will devour you in the end. Which also ties into what a couple of people have said about the final battle that they think its not going to be Xehanort but an embodiment of darkness itself. I think that if anyone has shown the most signs of possibly betraying Master Xehanort, it's Braig/Xigbar. Yes braig/xigbar seems so obviously like someone who is working on his on Plan all along also there must have been a reason why Xigbar only agreed to be half xehanort what else could that be than him wanting to have some level of free will for other purposes? The Transcendent Key 12,109 Posted July 9, 2018 (edited) I'm pretty sure that Braig will be the one to betray Xehanort. He's always been a fishy customer, and while he's been Xehanort's right hand man since Birth By Sleep, there's just something about him that really gives me the suspicion that he'll end up backstabbing the old coot when he sees it fit! The opportune moment, as Jack Sparrow would say! He wants to have a Keyblade of his own, and maybe there's the chance that he wants to let everything play out so that he can be able to control the power of Kingdom Hearts! Who knows? Isa, as many have mentioned, is also a good candidate! Though at this point, I think that he's too far gone. It may be that he might not be redeemed and Lea will have no other choice but to kill him, so that he puts him out of his misery! Hey, better to kill your friend than have his body be consumed by darkness and be transformed into another person altogether, right? God, I'm really anxious to see how that particular arc between Lea and Isa will play out! I'm sure it'll be heartbreaking! Vanitas is someone I also see turning on Xehanort, and it'd be most probably because Ventus somehow convinces him to turn to the side of the light, or Vanitas himself decides to take things into his own hands and becomes a neutral player! Marluxia is someone who I also see as very likely to betray Xehanort! He wanted to overthrow the original Organization back in Chain Of Memories, so who's to say that he won't do so again, or at least try to? That, and the fact that he's always wanted to wield the power of the Keyblade and that he hails from the time of X makes him an even more likely person to betray Xehanort! He probably has his own agenda that's been brewing ever since his time as a Dandelion, so who's to know what he's got planned? Pacific sea 1 Posted July 14, 2018 I always thought it was the other way around, the betrayer would be someone who is of light but turned to Xehanort's side. I was going to say Lea, since Axel kept information from Roxas such as Xion and Castle Oblivion. He seems like a mysterious character to me.
