Scsigs 119 Posted June 12, 2018 (edited) So, I've been having this idea for a little while now. I've been bombarded with people telling me why they don't think Xbox should get the earlier games, or how they believe it won't. Until I see actual proof of Square saying they won't do it, I still hold out hope that they have a good chance of being ported some time next year after 3 comes out, which HAS been stated by Nomura to be possible. This idea minimizes the financial risk for Square Enix to only the bare essentials of porting & limited release. Recall the Naruto: Ultimate Ninja Storm Trilogy & Legacy collections from last August. Those contain ports of the original 3 main Ultimate Ninja Storm games from the 7th generation of consoles. The third game is even the Full Blast version of it with most of the DLC from the original release on the disc. I say "most" because that version of the game, for some reason, doesn't have some of the extra DLC costumes for whatever reason. The Legacy collection also has the 4th game with all its DLC included on its own disc. These ports are available digitally for $15 each for the first 3 games, while the physical release was limited to a special release that was $60-$80 depending on where you got it from (I got mine from Amazon, which has the 20% discount for preordering games, though they apparently have been scaling it back for some reason). It seems Bandai Namco took a page out of Square's book for this rerelease, but then again, remaster collections like this have been commonplace in this generation, so I can't say that for sure. It also came with an art book & a Boruto Jump Festa special on its own disc. Now, if Square were to take a page from Bandai Namco's book, they can minimize the costs to themselves with porting the games & release. Basically, have a special limited physical release like what's coming for 3; a steelbook, an art book, and all 3 collections. I don't know if they could fit all of them on 1 disc, but 2 would be good, just like the PS4 releases. They could also offer this release for PS4 owners so they don't get pissy. We all know how console elitists can be, I assume. Whether they also have an even better release like 3 that comes with figures too, I don't know. They're appealing to Xbox players & while I know many an Xbox player had a PS2 & played KH1 & 2, as well as probably the other games on the handhelds, or played emulated versions of them, or have most likely seen people's videos on the games that have come out in the last few years, to get them ready for KH3. Then, they can have the collections for $20-$25 each for 1.5, 2.5, & 2.8 digitally on the Xbox game store. I say that price point is more than fair, considering you can get the PS3 releases of 1.5 & 2.5 for less than $20 & Square has made more than enough back on their investment to remaster & port the games to PS3 & 4 from those players alone buying the collections. I came up with this idea because, like I said, it minimizes the financial input Square would have to put into ports of the games outside of having a dev team port them to Xbox. Given the similar architectures of the Xbox & PS4, I can't imagine it'll take a ton of time or money to do. I think this would be a good idea & I've gotten the same reaction from some of my friends when I mentioned it to them. I think others would agree. Hero of Light XIV 2,381 Posted June 12, 2018 I mean to me the fact that they aren't even willing to acknowledge that they haven't mentioned anything about a collection for XBOX One users is more proof that they aren't going to bother with a collection at all, or at least not until KH3 is already released. I mean time after time, they keep having the opportunity to announce such a thing with each and every mega-collection for the PS4, and yet they still don't even give it a passing mention. I mean Playstation users are probably going to be given the opportunity to get caught up for the millionth time now and yet Microsoft users are still not given it when they arguably need it just as much, if not even more. I mean for god's sake, what is the hold-up, it's just a button-icon swap, that's all it takes, there is clearly interest there, they have all the signs they need to make a thing like this happen, I don't understand why they won't ever take the initiative and just give everybody the same exact freaking thing already, it's infuriating. I'm not even an XBOX user and I'm still disappointed, they're making all this talk about how "oh no, even inexperienced XBOX users can understand this game, just look at how the bad guys are clearly bad guys", when you could so easily avoid this problem altogether by doing what literally everybody is telling you to do and just give the XBOX users all of the HD collections. I swear the only incentive to get it on XBOX One at this point is to get it for the XBOX ONE X and see it perform on the strongest console out there, while also happening to be a fan who already kept up with this series beforehand. This is undoubtedly going to result in underperforming sales for the XBOX One version, and if that is the case, they might feel even less incentive to port the collections onto the system afterwards. It literally feels like another case of a Japanese software company favoring the Japanese hardware company more than the American one and in the end it's going to be the consumers that suffer from it, and it really pisses me off. I'm in a similar boat. I'm seriously hoping that the sales aren't hindered too much from the lack of the collections on the Xbox. I mean, if we're looking at sales, I do believe the sales on the Xbox for 3, while won't be overall as much as the PS4 version, will be decently strong. Looking on Amazon, the numbers for the preorders are almost the same for both versions. For the limited edition, right now, both versions are in the top 100 in the Video Games section, with the PS4 version being at #2 & the Xbox One version being at #56. That's decent for the 3rd main installment of a 16-year-old video game franchise that's just seeing the light of day on an Xbox console now. In their own sections, while in their own specific sections, right now, the PS4 edition is #1 & the Xbox edition is #4. The vanilla editions are similar. For the PS4 port, it's #22 for the top 100 & the Xbox port is #116. It's up against some stiff competition for Xbox players to buy, as a whole slew of games just got released over the last weekend alone & E3 isn't over, so that number can either go up, stay the same, or fall off, but I think it's gonna be fine. In the specific Xbox section, it fairs a lot better; at #12 right now. Considering the limited editions have better placements right now over the vanilla, but the vanilla editions aren't doing anywhere near bad either, I can only assume hundreds of thousands of people on both consoles have preordered the game so far, though I don't know how Amazon ranks sales overall, if they just use preorder numbers, clicks on to the product page, adds to carts, or some combo of the 3 or some other data collection method, but numbers like that are good from what I can tell, especially on Xbox One, for this specific game. A far cry from what some Sony fanboys are expecting, which is for it to crash & burn on the system. I'm hoping that the high sales numbers will continue & show Square that they DO have an audience on the console family of Xbox & release ports of the collections at some point in the near future. firetruck, I'd pay good money for a physical copy of those packaged in with 3 for a combo set like the one I described up above. I sure do hope Square sees reason soon.
KH4Real 749 Posted June 13, 2018 It's over 1.5/2.5 will never come to Xbox One. They have also clearly said that the combo 1.5/2.5/2.8 will only be on PS4.

Scsigs 119 Posted June 13, 2018 (edited) After the trailer you saw that the bundle was only for ps4. If it was for Xbox One they should have it announced at the Xbox conference. Here's the actual thing they meant. That was only meant for the bundle that's only on PS4 right now. The European box arts for the games do the exact same thing, yet in no way does that signify that there's no chance of the games coming to other platforms in the future, especially due to the franchise's console history. It's a marketing tactic, simple & clean, dude. This is exemplified by the fact that 3 is multiplatform, yet they still threw that in there. It's just meaning that the bundle was that. Don't not think about these things before you make BS claims, dude, especially when I have evidence against it from the past year. https://www.khinsider.com/news/Nomura-to-IGN-1-5-2-5-2-8-3-on-Switch-Xbox-One-Maybe-Possible-9698 https://attackofthefanboy.com/news/square-enix-teases-possibility-kingdom-hearts-hd-1-5-2-5-ps4/ Edited June 13, 2018 by Scsigs

I mean, we really don't know how he said that statement in the interview unless they recorded it. He just sounds like he's being blunt about the process of doing it. In one of the previous interviews I have linked above from last year, he said that they really wanted to focus on KH3's development before doing much else. He was most likely referring to 3 being on the Switch, but I think he was also talking about the Collections being on Xbox. It would certainly explain the lack of an announcement at the very least. To me, he doesn't seem against the idea, but the fact that they haven't talked to Microsoft yet, while it's insulting, at least explains stuff. I think we all just need to play this by ear right now. I mean, Nomura's one who wants people to play every game in the series, which is why the Collections exist in the first place. I don't think he wants Xbox players to be completely out of the loop on the stories of the games, as well as the gameplay of them. I'm confident he'll make it a reality. If not when 3 comes out, then sometime next year. I mean, this is why the FFVII remake entered development Hell as well, since Nomura had to focus more on KH3 first.
