Birth By Sleep Final Mix Keyslinger Trophy

Hey, guys.

 

So as many of you know I've been marathoning the Kingdom Hearts series in preparation for KH3. I want to do as much of the story as I can, and right now I'm playing Birth By Sleep Final Mix and working to unlock the secret ending. I'm playing on Standard mode, as I'm not in this for a challenge, and I'm trying to unlock the Keyslinger trophy (I'm currently playing Terra's scenario). I know the Keyslinger trophy requires you to defeat 9999 Unversed, which is proving to be quite tedious, and I've finished the sticker album. However, I've never done this before and I have a few questions.

 

First off, do you need to get the keyslinger trophy for all three characters (three separate times), or just one time?

 

Secondly, does the 9999 Unversed count across all three scenarios? Like, in Terra's you beat 4000, in Aqua's you beat 3000, and in Ventus's you beat 2999 and then you unlock the trophy? Or does it all have to be in one scenario?

 

Thirdly, does the trophy pop up in game once you obtain it? Or do you have to unlock the trinity archive and keep checking?

Keyslinger should count across all playthroughs.  In fact, if I'm not mistaken, the Trinity Archive trophies should be tied to your system data, not your save folders, so it should count across all playthroughs you've ever made on that system.  So you could do Terra 4000, Aqua 3000, Ven 2000, and then replay the game in five years, you'd just need to kill 999 more.

 

The trophy will not pop when you get it, unfortunately.

 

Here's a quick kill strategy for later, in case you get bored trying to earn it:

 

 

Go to Olympus Coliseum and do the Unversed Challenge to fight the Shade Jelly swarm.  Use Mega Flare. 300 kills per attempt, done in seconds.

If I'm not mistaken, the Keyslinger trophy is a collective one, meaning that you don't have to slay that specific amount of Unversed three times, because the in-game trophies you earn carry over into your next playthrough, ya know? So you don't have to sweat it, just keep battling Unversed until you get that trophy! Good luck!

Oh, let me just tell you, and I'm not exaggerating on this...to this day, the secret ending of Birth By Sleep is hands down the best secret ending in the history of the series, bar none! The way it sets up Kingdom Hearts III is just too beautiful, and that's all I'm gonna say, because if you haven't watched this secret ending anywhere else, you really owe it to yourself to experience the beauty this scene offers!

Oh, trust me, seeing it for the first time will fill you with absolute wonder, and possibly even goosebump inducing feels! And then you'll want to watch the secret ending a good number of times simply because you can. X3

Here's an update on the journey to the secret ending. I haven't gotten the trophy yet but I've taken out over 5000 unversed with ventus alone. The spot where you fight the Trinity armor is a great spot to build up kills. I've been going in with all thundaga commands and all three thunder boosts. One hit KO on everything every time. It's working! Thanks for your help guys!

It counts regardless of whether you select retry after right? I’m at about 6699 kills across all three saves and have done that Unverversed mission at least 10-15 times already.
