I'm Worried about Kingdom Hearts III...

Recommended Posts

I 100% agree it absolutely terrifies me to the my very soul that there's a chance we could get a Kingdom Hearts 3 Royal Edition like FF15. I absolutely do not want this game coming out uncompleted and having a buy Rikus story and Kairis story and this story and that story ect. If this game comes out I want everything to be positive I want a positive outlook from fans and critics and game reviewers alike. The story of Kingdom Hearts is convoluted enough and if they're going to hide it under DLC where we have to wait for months and months to find something out were screwed.

Squares future and how they're going to handle games through months to years of season passes and add-ons terrifies me if the future of Kingdom Hearts is headed down the same path as FFxv then I'm done I'm walking out the door and as I walk out of that door a piece of my soul tear off having to drop one of my favorite gaming franchises of all time I will swirl into depression and an endless abyss if Square turns the Kingdom Hearts franchise into FFXV.

I can understand your concerns, as they are well founded, but I am confident and have faith that Kingdom Hearts III will be a complete experience! Nomura has always been devoted to the KH series, and each installment is one that always delivers and is always a complete experience! Yes, there are the Final Mixes, but we got those as well, so that's all good! I don't think that Kingdom Hearts III will end up having the same problems as Final Fantasy XV. I'm pretty sure that Kingdom Hearts III will be complete, with any DLC probably being cosmetic, or maybe having new Keyblades or stuff like that, ya know? And if KHIII has multiplayer, possible DLC could be to add to said multiplayer, ya know?

While I understand the (legitimate) worries you have, I doubt Nomura will allow that to happen with KH3. If there is any dlc it would probably something like skins for party members or something equally unnecessary.

Off topic I predict a topic like this at least once a month before it releases.

So I'm a huge Kingdom Hearts fan, obviously. However, I'm worried that the game will turn out like Final Fantasy XV. I don't want the game to come out uncompleted and have sections of the worlds missing. The only reason I'm worried is because Square Enix stated in their last financial meeting, they would like to move to a system where they release the base game, and add to it in the coming months/years after the game is released. There's nothing wrong with adding DLC to games after it comes out, but if you leave out crucial game-play mechanics, important story segments, and release a "Royal Edition" a  year after the base game, then I think you're screwing over your customers who bought the game on day one. What do you all think? Are you worried KH3 might end up like FFXV?

Nomura has specifically stated that they aren't even planning future DLC yet. They're focusing on the full story of the game & its mechanics. He told them to be ready for any DLC he may want to release in the future, which I hope that it'll simply be cosmetic things like being in Sora's KH2 outfit for the whole game rather than just the first bit of it, or something like that.  Maybe he'll do only a few hour things that are expansions on the main game that are just things that add to the already completed story. FFXV was a project that was in development hell for the longest time, so the initial game having things left out wasn't surprising. Then again, every main game in the series has gotten a Final Mix treatment, so I don't know. I don't expect much to be left out of the game, considering Nomura likes to cover his bases on things, even if they don't matter, so who knows?

Kingdom Hearts 3 never went through the overhauling and changes FFXV had gone through. This development has gone on for about eight years uninterrupted and Nomura and others stating it is going smoothly. That much time is enough to make it completely and beautifully so there is not need to worry. Nothing has gone wrong before so how could something go wrong now especially when they have been hiring new employees to work on it?

‫‫I'm worried by the story more than the release method xD

So many years waiting for the end and I do not know if it will be up to it.

KH3 will be a complete game and there will be DLC with story and sidequest additions. In the end we will get KH3 Final Mix. Probably around 2020 for PS4 and PS5. End of story. Nothing to worry about.

While we have all the right to be worried for Kingdom Hearts 3 the game we have been waiting for 12/13 years or so but I really doubt it would be a FF15 situation. FF15 went through so many changes even the last month's before release they were changing things here and there.

But if KH3 turns out like the FF15 launch day than someone needs to do a reality check at SE!

I'm absolutely on the same boat as you especially as someone who bought FF15 day one only to find out they'd make a Royal edition with every DLC from the first season pass

Sadly I feel like it's inevitable considering that the game has been in development for half a decade now so most likely some story stuff will be either cut out or added later as DLC with some "Book of Prophecy Edition" that has all DLC in 2020

I'm so fed up with Square Enix at this point that even tho I'm excited for KH3 I kinda contemplate the decision of delaying my purchase

You make a valid argument.

They announced this game almost 5 years ago. I seriously doubt they would release an unfinished game, espically given the amount of time they’ve spent on it.

I highly doubt Square Enix would release a very anticipated game such as KH 3 while it is unfinished, especially one that has been in development 5-6 years. There has been evidence recently that suggests Kingdom Hearts 3 will release this year. Nomura himself has said he is confident on the 2018 release year and I believe him. We've also got James Woods and Drake Bell practically confirmed to be English voice actors and confirmation that James Woods has been working on voice acting for Kingdom Hearts 3. Drake Bell has clearly voiced lines for Young master Eraqus. With these confirmations, plus the fact that big KH YouTubers such as HMK, TheGamersJoint, Skywardwing, Soraalam1, and some of the KH 13 staff are being selected to be the first people to play Kingdom Hearts 3, suggests that the game has to be 70-90 percent done due to the fact that voice acting and finishing touches are done last. I have faith in Square Enix.

KH3 taking on any traits from FFXV is a nightmare, and a valid concern. I really hope the game's success isn't destructive to Square Enix's perception of what state they can release their games in
