I think it would depend on the content and the conditions involved. A preview would likely not reveal too much so that would be fine but not being allowed to talk about it with anyone to share the excitement for example would probably be very hard for me, especially if the wait for the full release is long. I can take secrets to the grave, don't get me wrong, but part of the hype before the actual release is communicating with other fans for me.

So it would actually depend what would be shown, when and under which conditions. Not all previews make the wait endurable either.

I guess it's all about what I can say about it like with everyone else so far saying that they are going to play it early.  If it's like some kind of demo of something that we could do in the full game and depends if they tell us the release date and day when we can play it and if it's not that long of a bit long then I probably will take it.  If its like you get a copy of the game before the full release then hell yes I will take it that would be amazing.  Either way if they offered it I would say yes please and thank you

Exactly if I can only talk about it with other people in vague terms I dont see what the point of it is other than to get some first opinions but than they had to get people in early Development where changes were still possible

That's also true. If there were major changes to be made, it would likely have made more sense to address that earlier and allow fans a look on the game. I think the critcism Square received for the last trailers and 0.2 were only helpful because they had the time to adjust things. But now that we're closing in on the actual release, it might be a bit late to change anything crucial anyway. And if that's not the goal, why allow people to get a preview?

It's another matter to receive the whole game early of course, but it should be closing in on the finishing touches soon. A few months are still sufficient to change certain matters such as polishing models, but not to overhaul entire segments should they be problematic. I'm not a fan of day one patches or games that are full of bugs and glitches just for the sake of having it out. (Like Far Cry 5 magnificently demonstrated again.)

alltough I did not play Far cry 5 when it came out (now I do) I can imagine that it was that way MMOs have a right to be Buggy when new patches/expansions come out but not full price Triple A titles. Well ubisoft is and stays ubisoft :P
