Considering Disney was only a distributor of the Ghibli films & don't own Ghibli, yet at the very least, I don't know if Ghibli would go for that on their own.

Nope. Don’t want it unless it is Disney based.

I mean we got BH6 which is a Marvel property, Toy Story and Monsters Inc which are Pixar, but Ghibli is where you draw the line? If you can tolerate those because they're owned by Disney now i hope for your enjoyment you can tolerate Star Wars when it comes down the line. Heck we'll probably get the Runaways at some point in the series.

Nothing to do with “tolerance”. My opinion is simple. Unless it’s Disney based and they can get the rights to use it, don’t want it. I prefer not with Star Wars, but that’s a different subject for another day. My opinion here is simple and won’t change: unless it is Disney based and they can get the rights to use it, I don’t want it.

Big Hero Six is a different story since it was made by the animation studio. And Pixar has technically always been Disney, they were more of a sub studio. And it already took them like 8 games to include it.

I think my problem with adding things like Star Wars and possibly Studio Ghibli is that they still have a lot of Disney products that still have not been in the games yet. A lot of the side games basically just reuse the same worlds over and over again (which thankfully changed with BBS and DDD). They have like over fifty movies to choose from, not to mention they now have Pixar and they have a ton of other media like TV shows. Things might happen like Star Wars, but I don't think it's anytime soon.

I think he said he would think about it, or something along that line, but don't quote me on that. I know he is a fan of Star Wars, which is obvious when you play the games, especially BBS. It's entirely possible it might be included somehow in future games. At least I don't think there would be any problem. I personally not that fond of the idea, even though I'm a fan of Star Wars. A secret boss or something of that sort might be cool though.

I personally would much rather they stick to just Disney worlds. And when I say Disney I mean things that Disney made themselves and not purchased later or only own the international distribution rights to. This is why I don't want Star Wars worlds either. Disney bought Lucasfilm; it and its series weren't always theirs. I suppose I would tolerate it if they were to include worlds based on Star Wars movies released after Lucasfilm was acquired by Disney, like Episode VII onwards, but I definitely don't want anything before that. And I don't want Studio Ghibli, because like I said before, Disney doesn't own Studio Ghibli, they only own the international distribution rights. But don't get me wrong, I totally get why people want to see Star Wars and Studio Ghibli in Kingdom Hearts. I'm just not really one of those people.

If I thought Spirited Away had a chance, it would be my most wanted world.

This basically. Spirited Away is arguably the most recognizable and highest rated among the Studio Ghibli films. That's not to say their other films wouldn't work, but Spirited Away is the one I want to see most in KH3. Of course, that's only if Disney and/or Square Enix is willing to pay Studio Ghibli and if they would even want one of their works in KH3. As much as I would like it, Studio Ghibli hasn't expressed any desire to have a world in KH3 to my knowledge. At the end of the day, we shouldn't be too disappointed if it doesn't happen, as we already have plenty of potential new worlds that could show up in KH3.

Huh. Now I really want to rewatch Spirited Away for some reason. :P

Touche. I always forget that Pixar was its own company before Disney acquired it. I guess I've just always thought of Pixar as always being owned by Disney. I think Pixar would be an exception to my beliefs about this stuff. Feel free to call me a hypocrite; I agree that I am in this case.

I think it's because Disney's name has always been attached to Pixar, so I just always associated it as being part of Disney. But Studio Ghibli's movies were originally distributed by 20th Century Fox, so I saw it as its own entity right from when I was a kid.

i think its only the shorts they made before toy story didnt involve disney, its funny how the first two pixar worlds are based mostly on films from before disney actually owned pixar, though they always shared the copyright

It really is funny. But I would say the two companies have always had at least a sibling-like relationship.
