Question regarding the Switch Eshop and DLC

Hello, I have a few doubts and questions related to DLC and the Nintendo Switch and for anyone who downloaded DLC.

 

How does DLC work in relation to games and different accounts? If I download DLC for, say, BOTW using one account, will the DLC be unlocked only on the save file of the user that downloaded and payed for the DLC, or can the DLC be activated on all save files/console users of the game, regardless of who bought the DLC?

 

Some clarifications and insight on this would be appreciated.

im not 100% sure but it probably works like on the wii u and every profile on the console will probably have access to the dlc

Oh. Have you downloaded DLC and then switched over to another account?

In short: yes it'll work on all profiles on that console.

 

The Only limitations are:

 

1) your account must be activated on that console, if you activate your account on a different console, the games and DLC you purchased will only work on the console your account is activated on and you can only be activated on one at a time.

 

2) if you ever removed your profile from that system, all other users will loose access to the DLC and games purchased by your profile.

not on the switch but on the wii u hence why i wasnt 100% sure

So if I downloaded the Splat2 Octo expansion on my alternate acount, that means that the DLC will be available on both that and my main account/save file on the Switch, and will be in the game as long as the alt. account is active/present?
