AwesomeKHfan 1,250 Posted February 10, 2018 I never hated it I be honest... Well accept maybe in Kingdom Hearts 1 but I kind of liked in Kingdom Heatrts 2 because it was a nice break from the plot and so peacefull and quite it was fun to see a World just being save from the Heartless and Nobody's (I just now imagened old looking Xehanort as a mermaid I want to die). I do agree on that it is just useless but it was optional in KH2 btw how was the world in Re Chain actuallty I never played through it so. Nick Sideris 1,551 Posted February 10, 2018 (edited) Atlantica was amazing in COM . Whenever I needed to level up , I would just run through the world , recreating rooms full of heartless .The Ursula fight was not very easy but it was fun . I don't know why everybody hates that world so much either . I loved all of its versions . Yeah , maybe , the KH 1 version was a bit frustrating 'cause it was like a maze but it had amazing boss fights . Master Keeper 687 Posted February 10, 2018 I never “hated” any KH world, I just dislike the fact that it was wasted on a song mini game when it’s an action rpg game The problem wasn’t only here, the whole under the sea exploration part was removed and they simply skipped all the locations that lead to the throne of King Triton and above all of that, the story doesn’t add anything and simply feels like re telling of the same storyline of KHI except with the continuation and with more characters. It would’ve been much better for Atlantica to have similar feels as KHI’s with better combat and control usages I personally enjoyed Atlantica in both KHI and Chain of Memories and felt that they were amazing to explore and play within. I don’t know about your thoughts regarding Ariel’s appearance in KHIII, whether she would be just a summon from a random world or a summon from her world, I would warmly welcome Atlantica’s return ONLY if it were like a normal world that we can explore As for Chain of Memories question, it was a nice world to explore. You would play as Sora on his normal form instead of his mermaid form for storyline reasons but nevertheless, playing on that world felt different in Chain of Memories and I would highly recommend for you to play the game and reach there 2 Nick Sideris and SoraVen Roxas??? reacted to this

KH4Real 749 Posted February 10, 2018 Well in KH2 they didn't had Neverland but got Peter Pan as summon. This could confirm that there will be no Atlantica.

dabestgamer 62 Posted February 10, 2018 (edited) People hated (or at least disliked) Atlantica for a few reasons. In KH1: 1) swimming controls 2) combat while swimming 3) navigating In KH2: 4) QTE 5) having to redo songs for 100% (before realizing they could just quit the song and it would still count for Jiminy's Journal) 6) didn't like some of the songs themselves Edited February 10, 2018 by dabestgamer
Clouded Sun 1,232 Posted February 10, 2018 Loved it in KH1, even with the bad controls. Hated it in KH2 though, was way too cringy and added nothing to the story whatsoever. Only way to get that last Orchicalcum + though. I believe it was also an optional world. Anyway, I hated it in one because of the horrible physics and camera control and 2 because of its uselessness other than hiding the most rare item in the game behind it. 1 Felixx reacted to this

Movies798 1,358 Posted February 10, 2018 (edited) In my opinion, I love Atlantica in Kingdom Hearts 1 more than in Kingdom Hearts 2. One of the reasons why I love it in KH1 is because Atlantica play a role into the main story of KH1. Especially since they made King Trident more aware about the Keyblade Bearer and about Sora not from their world. I still love Atlantica in Kingdom Hearts 2 but I hate the fact it became a filler world just like 100 Acre Wood. Atlantica in KH2 was nothing more than some mini game that adds nothing into the KH2 main story. I'm actually okay of Atlantica not returning in Kingdom Hearts 3 because Nomura might turn it into another mini game. But I love see Ariel again as a Summon in Kingdom Hearts 3 so I think it's all good. Plus, I had no problem with the game controls in Atlantica because It was pretty easy for me and I find it fun. Ventus_ 396 Posted February 16, 2018 From what I've gathered, the haters found the controls irritating and/or focus largely on the useless waste of a world it is in Kingdom Hearts II. I can attest that both are frustrating to get the hang of and although the latter isn't required to complete the game, it's a bit difficult to dismiss nonetheless because it is required to synthesize the Ultima Weapon. As for me, the most frustrating thing about KHI Atlantica, is the sharks, so destructive and when one can manage to defeat them, they respawn about 30 seconds later. I remember my first and seconds times (first the vanilla and then 1.5) I had trouble with the first Ursula battle. The first time a friend actually did it for me. It gets easy once you figure out that you're not actually battling Ursula. Although she has a lifeline, you don't have to touch her because the round is over once you explode the cauldron three times. The second battle is easy enough as well, just mermaid kick around her and let your party do most of the damage. The Kingdom Hearts II version? I wouldn't use the word 'hate' particularly after I realized I'd misremembered Sora's singing ability but I am not a fan. It's stupid. Though to be honest, I'd be interested in a singing game with Roxas or Ventus since it's Jesse McCartney who voices them and I like his music.
ReverofE 698 Posted February 16, 2018 KH1 it's great because they took the time to actually adapt the Little Mermaid's plot to fit Kingdom Hearts. 1. Ariel wishes to discover other worlds similar to what Sora and his friends wanted to do at the beginning of the game. 2. Ursula has control over the Heartless, is actively searching for the Keyhole, and even offers to send Ariel to the world of the Heartless. 3. King Triton's mini-history lesson on the Keyblade. And the best part is Atlantica was technically an optional world in KH1 yet they STILL took the time to adapt it and write a pretty good story for it. Then KH2's Atlantica ruins it by having Ursula magically return, remove the Heartless, have Ariel fall for Ursula's tricks again, etc. All in a dumb attempt to copy/paste the plot from the movie. The Transcendent Key 12,109 Posted March 15, 2018 I think maybe the reason that people hated Atlantica was because Sora's skillset was drastically reduced underwater, to the point that he could only use his basic attacks and magic, and not attacks like Strike Raid or Ragnarok and the like, ya know? But given how physics and water work, it would be hard to make Sora use those moves without it looking unrealistic. But then again, this is an RPG, and characters can be pretty powerful whatever environment they are in, ya know? As for myself, I never hated the world. I didn't like the KHI version that much because of what I stated above, because I couldn't use Sora's advanced skillset. But other than that, I liked exploring the ocean, and I loved that clams were the replacement for treasure chests! I also like that there were numerous pathways to explore, ya know? In Re:Chain, it's really nothing more than generic rooms, because of course, being inside Castle Oblivion means the worlds can't actually be recreated to scale with the original worlds, but hey, it's good for leveling up! I actually loved the KHII rendition of the world the most, because it being a musical actually tapped into the spirit of Disney films in general, because Disney films for the most part have various musical numbers in them, so I was pleasantly surprised that Atlantica in KHII took that approach! To me, at least, it was enjoyable, and as you stated, it was a peaceful break from all the action, like the 100 Acre Wood! 13 SantasH, LotrobT, TokladE and 10 others reacted to this

The water mechanics were gone, which is something that I have heard people complain about whenever The Little Mermaid world comes up. I did like the KH1 one better than the music mini game thing in KH2, because it actually allowed me to visit a shipwreck and beat a giant shark.
