Iamkingdomhearts1000 1,170 Posted February 7, 2018 (edited) Tagline: "...The beginning...of the end." Synopsis: "Discover the story of what occurred during Terra-Xehanort's time under the apprenticeship of Ansem the Wise alongside the five other apprentices Braig, Dilan, Even, Aeleus and Ienzo and how they and both Isa and Lea fell into Darkness and had become both Heartless and Nobodies, the latter of which would go on to form the original Organization XIII that Master Xehanort had intended to complete his ultimate endgame agenda with, discover the story...of apprentice Xehanort, the man who would cause all of the Worlds to fall into Darkness by the time the events of the very 1st Kingdom Hearts video game begins." Theme Song: https://youtu.be/uEjXgqE4UDM. Prologue: Names: "Young man, what ails you?" "It is I," "Can you speak? Tell me your name." "That's not my name." "Xeha...nort." "I'm not "Xehanort." "Xehanort?" "My name...is Ansem." "the seeker of darkness." "This heart belongs again to darkness, All worlds begin in darkness, and all so end. The heart is no different. Darkness sprouts within it-it grows, consumes it. Such is its nature. In the end, every heart returns to the darkness whence it came. You see, darkness is the heart's true essence." Prologue: Names-Concluded. Chapter I: A man named "Xehanort"...: "Darkness rules your heart-it gives me control. Muscle and sinew that once obeyed you now rebels against you. How you can remain here at all confounds the mind." "It's still my heart. You think you can just come in and take over? I'm not gonna sit by and let that happen." "Hmph. Don't even entertain any notions of escaping me, boy. In the end, your heart will be engulfed by mine forever." "Wrong. You're gonna get shown the door, old man." "As I recall, you couldn't even handle your own darkness. How, then, will you triumph over mine?" "You'll find out soon enough." "Oh? So that's how it is, is it? Someone else has set foot in your heart. Eraqus, you sly fox..." "I'm not afraid of what the darkness holds now. Even if you do wrest control of my heart from me-even if you cast me into the deepest, darkest abyss-you'll never sway me from the one cause that pushes me to keep on fighting. Whatever the cost, i'm ready to pay it." "Brave words, to be sure. But I'm a patient man. We can take as much time as we need to settle this little property dispute. However, know this-You are just one of many roads that i might choose to take. Trust me. I made certain of that." Just then, awakening from what seemed like a nightmare was a young man named Xehanort, he was having a nightmare about two people having what looked like both an argument and a debate within a pocket dimension full of darkness, one of the two people resembled Xehanort himself but with lighter skin tone, blue eyes and brown hair whilst the other person was a elderly looking old man who had sharp hawk like golden eyes and a equally sharp tongue to boot again whilst he was seen flexing his fingers, Xehanort sighed and said to himself after awaking from the nightmare the words: "Another dream about them..." Xehanort then looked out the window of his room to see the town of Radiant Garden, the world in which he lived in, although it was a magnificent splendor to enjoy, Xehanort was not fazed in that way the least single bit, all he did was get up out of bed, proceeded to put his work clothes on after tidying himself up and again proceed to start the day like any another normal working day for him, that is to say that he is an apprentice to the great Ansem the Wise, the sage leader of all Radiant Garden and who was dedicating his life to working on research to both discover and unlock the mysteries of the heart, in order to better his people's lives. In actuality, it was thanks to Xehanort that Ansem had begun studying his research on the workings of a heart, for it was one day out of the blue that Xehanort had arrived in Radiant Garden from out of nowhere both very strangely and mysteriously, Ansem found him alongside two others of his apprentices named both Braig and Dilan and Ansem had decided to take in Xehanort and give him a home, upon discovering that Xehanort had lost his memories and that Xehanort was muttering to himself in his sleep the word heart both over and over time and time again, Ansem wanted to help Xehanort regain his lost memories and thus both he and his apprentices alongside Xehanort who was named an apprentice would begin research into the concepts of the heart in the hopes that it would both restore Xehanort's memory and help make the people of Radiant Garden lives better, the phrase killing two birds with one stone came to mind in Ansem's head when he thought of all this. Xehanort was a beginner apprentice, however, he quickly rose up through the ranks little by little until eventually, he quickly became Ansem's very best student, his number one ranking apprentice and thus, to honor Xehanort's achievements and fast progress to high greatness, Ansem decided to have a giant face portrait of Xehanort done to show how much he has achieved and that Ansem holds Xehanort in high regard, even without his memories. During his time living in Radiant Garden, Xehanort supposedly befriended one of the other apprentices, it was one of the two who found him at Ansem's side when Xehanort first appeared in Radiant Garden, it was Braig and although Braig appeared to seem friendly, he was actually very chiding, always looking down on Xehanort, trying to make out that Braig was superior to the former, Braig also never let Xehanort have a moment to himself, whenever there was a chance to annoy or bug Xehanort, Braig would pop up almost all the time, however...there was one time when Braig decided to purposely make Xehanort angry that a certain name came up that caught the latter's attention almost immediately: "Hey! Mister Master. Oh c'mon, you don't even know your pal? Please tell me the amnesia was just a sick joke. Boy, this is some cliche. Hey, you're not...Terra? Just gotta check. As if. Well, don't sweat it. I got your back." Terra? who was Terra? what did that name mean to Xehanort? how did Braig know about it? as the two were walking down a underground passageway corridor, Xehanort thought to himself what the name Terra meant, as strangely enough, it felt very...familiar to him, as he and Braig were walking onward, unbeknownst to them looking behind was Ansem, walking and eating Sea Salt Ice Cream with his youngest apprentice Ienzo who he treated exactly like a son, having known the boy since when he was just a baby and was a friend of his parents, before they died, Ansem was named the godfather of Ienzo and had promised to take care of him should anything ever happen to his parents but digressing, Ansem saw that Ienzo's attention was drawn to both Xehanort and Braig and, as he saw his two older apprentices moving on and heading to their respective work posts, Ansem suddenly felt...uneasy, as though something was off about Braig but even more so, about Xehanort...he couldn't help but sensing that there was an almost dark aura emerging from Xehanort's back in spiritual form, in turn in the form of what looked like a monster that had bandages across its face and very long ears, Ansem was frightened by the visage he thought that he saw for a moment but had decided to shrug it off, believing it to be an old man's imaginations and so, he and Ienzo continued walking onward in the direction opposite both Xehanort and Braig, leaving things, as they were. Xehanort was seen working in one of the underground laboratories that Ansem had built in the hopes that they would help further the research to unlocking Xehanort's memory buried deep within his heart, Xehanort's lab colleague, superior and peer was named Even and although the two were seen working together, Even openly voiced his opinion about how he disapproved of Xehanort, namely Even was jealous of how Xehanort quickly rose through the ranks and had taken Even's place, as Ansem's foremost pupil, Even tried to flaunt off his own IQ, knowledge and skills, trying to prove that he was better then Xehanort but unfortunately to no avail, Xehanort merely proclaimed to Even in a cold manner that all of everything, Xehanort's own IQ, knowledge, skills, so on and so forth came natural to him, like it was almost supernatural even and acting on instinct for Xehanort, for some reason, although he doesn't quite know how, when it came to studying about hearts, Xehanort was a mastermind full of answers, Even couldn't even begin to compare to Xehanort upon realizing what kind of an almost godly like mindset that he had, this further frustrated Even, as Braig watching from behind the scenes, lurking within the shadows had merely laughed to himself, happy with Even's failure, embarrassment and shame and how Xehanort's "progress" was coming along just nicely. It was the end of the day, the sun was setting and before Xehanort was about to set off going home back to his room within Radiant Garden's castle, a quiet Ienzo appeared to him from behind, surprising Xehanort and had offered him a Sea Salt Ice Cream, wanting to eat with Xehanort, although Xehanort tried to avoid Ienzo, the latter kept standing in his way until Xehanort finally relented, the two watched the sun setting from up above the very top of Radiant Garden's castle eating Sea Salt Ice Cream together despite not talking to each other, as Xehanort started to eat his ice cream, he started to think to himself about how it tasted: "It's salty...but sweet," Just then, upon tasting the ice cream, a sudden visual image played back in Xehanort's mind, it was a memory that was not his that he doesn't recall ever having, it was about the young man from his nightmare earlier on in the day tasting a similar ice cream and making his comment about it: "Mmm! This is fantastic!" Xehanort's head started to hurt a little, as he placed his hand over his left eye upon his head whilst holding his ice cream in the right before Ienzo suddenly says to Xehanort whilst looking out towards the sun setting, not noticing Xehanort's head hurting the words: "This world is just too big." Xehanort's head started to hurt even further when upon hearing Ienzo's words he started to recall another memory that didn't belong to him, this time it was of another young man who Xehanort did not recognized but upon closer inspection, Xehanort saw that this young man unlike the last one bore Xehanort's physical features, his silver hair and golden eyes being the prime examples, the young man that looked almost exactly like Xehanort himself proceeded to say the words: "This world is just too small." The young man said this, as he starred out to sea before starting to turn around and face Xehanort but, as he was slowly turning around, the young man was seen transforming into two men who looked definitely exactly like Xehanort! although there were differences between these two men and the present Xehanort we know currently for sure, just, as these two men followed transforming from the young man, they too were followed by transforming into the elderly old man from Xehanort's nightmare, suddenly, Xehanort started to panic, he dropped his ice cream right below, as he faced Ienzo, whose eyes suddenly beamed up with dark glowing light golden eyes, Xehanort suddenly screamed out and his eyes blanked, he started to fall off the castle tower right down below towards the ground, asking himself the question whilst falling in slow motion: "Who...am I?" Chapter I: A man named "Xehanort"...-Concluded. Chapter II: A heart of pure light: "Aqua! Get back! I messed up. ******** is part of me. Now he's using me so you'll tell him where you hid ***! I won't give in! Aqua! You have to-Aqua! That is enough!" "!?!? Guh!?!? wha-what? who?" said Xehanort, as he woke up inside of his bed from another nightmare, as Braig was by the door-side, surprised by Xehanort's sudden awakening, asking him the question: "Yo-yo-yo sleepyhead! rise and shine! welcome back to the realm of the living, tell me, by any chance...your memories return me thinks? pfff, as if! right?" said Braig, as Ansem the Wise then appeared, silencing Braig, saying to him the words: "That's enough! Braig! now go! you should be at your post with Dilan and Aeleus, me and Even will tend to Xehanort, go." said Ansem, ordering Braig to leave Xehanort's room, as he sarcastically bowed down towards Ansem before taking his leave, Ansem then proceeded to sit by Xehanort's bedside, talking to him: "...Xehanort, are you alright? what happened? do you recall yesterday?" said Ansem, as Xehanort upon hearing his master's words then recalled that yesterday he fell off Radiant Garden's castle's highest tower down towards the ground right below, only to have been saved by Braig who was keeping an eye on Xehanort the whole time and had used his jumping abilities to catch Xehanort before he nearly fell to his death, Xehanort proceeded to answer Ansem by saying: "...No, nothing, nothing at all..." said Xehanort, lying about not recalling anything, as Ansem remained silent for a moment before deciding to just leave the matter be, despite it still bothering him inside, he lastly says to Xehanort before leaving his room: "...Well, at any rate, i'm assigning you the day off, you have been working too hard these days Xehanort, you need a break from the lab, you spend too much time working in there, these are my orders Xehanort, go out today, get some fresh air and enjoy yourself, learn what it means for one to enjoy things, understand?" said Ansem the Wise, as he proceeded to leave Xehanort's bedside and leave his room but not before ordering Xehanort to take the whole day off, believing him to be suffering from fatigue from overworking, as Ansem had left, closing the door behind him, Xehanort placed both of his hands over his face before then looking straight into his hands and lastly saying the words: "...Aq...ua? who is Aqu...a? why does that name...haunt...me? ugh..." said Xehanort, his head pulsing with migraines, as Braig looked from within the shadows and was displeased upon Xehanort recalling this Aqua person's name. Later that morning, Xehanort was seen exiting the front gates and was silently greeted by both Dilan and Aeleus, exchanging no words, merely bowing down their heads towards Xehanort, as he left the castle grounds, he made his way towards the central plaza, where here, flowers were in bloom and attending to them was a young red headed girl, she was seen happily picking flowers whilst muttering to herself that she was going to make a flower crown for her grandmother, as a secret surprise, Xehanort watched the young girl and was curious by her for some reason, just then, his head started to hurt again and he could hear someone's voice inside of his head, saying: "Seven pure lights..." Xehanort muttered these same words himself straight after hearing them inside of his head after the swelling started to calm down, it was then that the young girl noticed Xehanort's presence and upon noticing him, she was almost immediately scared by his presence and had proceeded to run away, Xehanort tried to stretch out his hand towards the girl to show her that he meant no harm but, as she had already left, he was left behind to stare into his hand, thinking to himself: "That girl...she had, no darkness...none whatsoever." thought Xehanort, upon realizing that the young girl held no darkness at all inside of her heart, it was then that a sudden idea came to Xehanort's head and with it, he proceeded to race back to Ansem the Wise's castle. At Ansem's study, Xehanort barged in like there was no tomorrow and was interrupting a conversation between both Ansem and Even, Xehanort was breathing heavily a little, as he was trying to catch his breath, wanting desperately to say something towards Ansem, despite him having explicitly told Xehanort to take the day off. Xehanort said to Ansem: "Darkness! that's what we have been missing in the experiments master Ansem! darkness!" said Xehanort to Ansem who was caught off guard by Xehanort's words, Even thought that Xehanort was raving like a lunatic and that he had clearly lost it, he was about to summon Dilan and Aeleus to escort Xehanort back to his room until further notice until Ansem raised Even's arm down, having been raised up in the air, curious about Xehanort's idea, it could very well be the missing key to restoring Xehanort's lost memories, Ansem had listened to Xehanort speak his mind, as the latter proceeded to talk by saying: "Master Ansem! i know what it is that my memory has been missing, it was darkness! my memory has been so fully clouded with light ever since i arrived here in Radiant Garden that it had not time to adjust to or even make room for darkness, because of that, i haven't been able to recover my memory at the fast pace that i should have achieved by now, i believe that instead of studying a heart's light properties, we should do the reverse and study the dark, that way--" just then, Even laughed at Xehanort's proposal, saying to him: "Ha! ha! haaa! you'd honestly believe that we would endanger not only our research but the lives of Radiant Garden's people by dabbling with darkness!? you must have finally lost not only your memory but your mind, as well Xehanort! master Ansem, let us not change the subject with this matter and--" said Even, as Ansem replied: "Wait, Even...i think, i think Xehanort might be onto something..." said Ansem, as Even was caught shocked by Ansem's words, Ansem proceeded to continue talking: "Its true that we have never truly done research on darkness itself and have only worked on the heart's light properties, who knows? by researching and gathering data into darkness, we may just help Xehanort regain his memory finally and not only that but better the peoples' lives at last, i am afraid Even that Radiant Garden merely being called the holy city of light will not grant it the perfection that we are seeking for it, no, in order to truly seek perfection, we must balance both the light and the darkness, by doing that, Radiant Garden will truly become blessed, do you not agree? Even?" said Ansem, as although Even was furious by this sudden turn of events, he nevertheless agreed to both Ansem and Xehanort's idea that study into darkness might just help Radiant Garden reach the state and height of what the scientists have been looking for to help better the world itself, as Xehanort was shown expressing a genuine smile at this turn of events, Braig, lurking behind a corridor near Ansem's study could help naught but show an evil grin on his face, apparently now pleased about Xehanort's progress being back on track then when it was compared to earlier when he mentioned this Aqua person. The sun started to set once more just like yesterday and seen at the central plaza, where the young girl was trying to make a flower crown was the crown itself, resembling a broken chain made out of flowers for before the girl could fully make the crown did she notice Xehanort and ran away in fear of him, she was seen with her grandmother crying on her lap, she had not stopped crying ever since she saw Xehanort who had frightened her almost to death, her grandmother tried to calm the young girl down, as she proceeded to say the words: "Now, now Kairi, i'm sure this person wasn't, as scary, as you thought he was." said the grandmother, identifying her granddaughter, as Kairi, who replied whilst in tears: "But-but, because of him...i couldn't make you your special gift for your birthday grandma!" said Kairi, revealing that her flower crown was meant, as a gift for her grandmother's birthday, her grandmother merely smiled and said to Kairi whilst raising her chin up: "Oh Kairi...my sweet precious dear, just know this, that your smile brings me all of the greatest joy that not only this world but all of the worlds out there have to offer, i am thankful and blessed that you think of me child but do not fret, i am happy, simply happy that you are here with me and that is all that matters...remember the story we share with one another? about the worlds and their light?" said Kairi's grandmother, as Kairi herself nodded her head, still in tears whilst trying to wipe them away, listening to her grandmother telling their story that they share once more: "Long ago, people lived in peace, bathed in the warmth of light. Everyone loved the light. Then people began to fight over it. They wanted to keep it for themselves. And darkness was born in their hearts. The darkness spread, swallowing the light and many people's hearts. It covered everything, and the world disappeared. But small fragments of light survived, in the hearts of children. With these fragments of light, children rebuilt the lost world. It's the world we live in now. But the true light sleeps, deep within the darkness. That's why the worlds are still scattered, divided from each other. But someday, a door to the innermost darkness will open and the true light will return. So, listen, child. Even in the deepest darkness, there will always be a light to guide you. Believe in the light, and the darkness will never defeat you. Your heart will shine with its power and push the darkness away." said Kairi's grandmother finishing the story, upon hearing the story's end, tears were no longer rolling down Kairi's face and instead a huge bright smile was seen, as Kairi's grandmother lastly said to Kairi the words: "There, you see my child? even the innermost darkness will not claim your heart, your heart is strong Kairi, so long, as you keep your light burning strong...so too will your heart, always remember, Kairi...that even if darkness was to claim our world and claim me, it will never claim you, your light is the strongest of all and one day, i hope that there will be friends by your side who will share with you in your light and you theirs, together, your hearts will be your guiding key towards the door, the door to light, of course heh heh, you may not understand everything right now but in time you will, just remember Kairi, i am in your heart, just, as you are in mine and soon, there will be others that think of you and you of them too, i just know there will be, Don't ever forget. Wherever you go, I'm always with you." said Kairi's grandmother, as Kairi looked on puzzled by her grandmother's words, as she merely smiled at Kairi's confused expression before lastly, a small bright shine could be seen emitting from the pendant that Kairi is wearing and a voice could be heard albeit muffled also emitting from it, the voice could not be heard by either Kairi or her grandmother but instead by Xehanort elsewhere, trying to sleep back at Radiant Garden's castle. The voice said to him in his sleep: "Terra." said the voice, as it shocked Xehanort wide awake and he wondered what that voice was and whom it belonged to, it sounded like a female's voice but even more strangely, it sounded...familiar to Xehanort...deciding to brush it off, Xehanort proceeded to go back to bed but still wondering whose that female's voice was, inside of Xehanort's dreams before he fully lost conscious and fully went into sleep, he could see what looked like a background full of ruins and in front of him was a young blue haired woman, simply smiling and reaching out her hand towards Xehanort, whispering something to him, although he could not hear what she was whispering and with that, Xehanort went to sleep. Chapter II: A heart of pure light-Concluded. Chapter III: Fire and Moon: "I just--when I really need you, ***, I know you'll be there." "Terra!" "Huh!? what? not, again...who is...he? V...V...en...tus?" said Xehanort, as he awoke from another dream, this time it was not about the young woman from before but instead a younger boy, as Xehanort struggled to try and recall the boy's name, it was then that Even knocked on Xehanort's door, saying to him: "Xehanort, Xehanort! get up! master Ansem requests your presence!" said Even in a harsh tone, as he then took his leave on the other side of the door, leaving Xehanort to awaken, finally, Xehanort pondered to himself before getting up like normal, still wondering about who it was he was trying to recall in his dream. in Ansem the Wise's study, Xehanort meets with his master who had requested his presence, Ansem says to Xehanort about their new approach they are taking on their experiment of studying about the heart and all of its secrets, taking the route of darkness: "...Xehanort, before we begin studying about darkness, i must warn you now that we are dabbling with forces we do not know anything about, for all we know, we could be walking into a trap, if anything goes wrong with the research, i am pulling out everything immediately...i hope you understand what that means, yes?" said Ansem, warning Xehanort about the very potential dangers about researching the darkness in one's heart and how it could affect everyone by divulging too much into it, Xehanort replies: "...Yes, master Ansem..." said Xehanort, as he bowed his head towards Ansem, seemingly acknowledging his both concerns and worries about the research on darkness, as Xehanort then had left the room, Ansem started stroking his beard, pondering to himself and worriedly too...outside in the corridor near Ansem's study was then seen Braig, approaching Xehanort, placing his arm around the latter, as the former says to Xehanort: "SOOO! you finally got the "master's" permission, ehhh?" said Braig, as Xehanort replied: "...What are you talking about?" said Xehanort, Braig acting all cocky and starting to say to Xehanort the words: "Oh come on! "lighten" up! i mean, its not like you WEREN'T going to ask the man about darkness anytime soon no? all you had to do was a little both head nudging and heart tinkering and then BAM! darkness came to mind, as expected, right? you may fool them, heck, you may even fool "yourself" but when it comes to both me and "you" per-say, we both know that it was eventually going to come to this..." said Braig, flapping his arms about in a flamboyant and jester like manner more or less, as he was cryptically hinting something towards Xehanort with his words, Xehanort however, did not understand even a single thing Braig was saying and could only reply by saying: "What do you...mean?" said Xehanort, not sure about how to answer Braig, as the latter merely snickered before leaving Xehanort behind to think to himself, to think about what Braig was trying to say towards Xehanort... The Transcendent Key 12,109 Posted February 11, 2018 Oh wow, I'm really loving this story so far! I can tell that you're using Roxas's prologue in KHII as inspiration, but that's where the similarities end, because then you start to weave down the path of apprentice Xehanort's life as Ansem The Wise's apprentice! I really like how you put the setting and involve the other apprentices! It almost feels like I'm witnessing a scrapped set of cutscenes from the games! Very intriguing work so far! Keep it up! Actually, Roxas' prologue didn't come to mind when i started doing this story but i admit it does look similar to that premise, it all leads up to the moment Xehanort takes on Ansem's name and reveals his interactions with the residents of Radiant Garden whilst also recalling his memories, as both Terra and Master Xehanort, the two of them fighting for control of Terra-Xehanort's heart, also, the X in the title stands for Xehanort, the XIII stands for the 13 Seekers of Darkness and finally, Lost Memories is taken from what was meant to be the original title for Chain of Memories, altogether, X/XIII Lost Memories. 1 The Transcendent Key reacted to this

Iamkingdomhearts1000 1,170 Posted February 11, 2018 (edited) Continuing from where Chapter III: Fire and Moon had left off: Xehanort was seen walking by the castle's giant front gate where Dilan and Aeleus were seen posted, as they were also seen dealing with a young flame haired youth who was being held by the back of his collar by Aeleus before then getting chucked by him towards the stairs leading to the castle entrance, as Dilan says to the red headed young man the words: "...And don't let us spot you coming anywhere near this place again you upstart ruffian!" said Dilan, as the young boy replied in retaliation to Dilan's words, saying: "Ruffian!? hey! i got a name you know! it's Lea! L-E-A, Lea! get it memorized you old geezer!" said Lea, as he angered Dilan with the boy's words, only to be stopped short by Aeleus from falling for Lea's taunt with the former saying towards Lea whilst Xehanort looks on in curiosity: "...Look kid, you can try a 100 times, maybe even a 1000 times, however, your not getting in this castle to meet with Ansem the Wise, understood? now then, go along and meet with your friend, unlike you, at least he knows when to give up a lost cause when he sees one." said Aeleus, as Lea simply replied in anger with a: "...Tch!" before running off, Xehanort, having witnessed the whole event goes toward both Dilan and Aeleus and asks what that was all about by saying: "...Dilan, Aeleus, what's going on here? who was that young man? does he have business with master Ansem?" said Xehanort, Dilan replied saying: "HA! more then unlikely, that brat just wants to sneak into the castle and see what we hold sacred here, he's nothing but a troublemaker." said Dilan, as Aeleus proceeded to talk himself in a more calmer tone then his fellow bodyguard counterpart: "Either that or he may just want to meet with master Ansem, since none of the local residents of Radiant Garden ever really get to see him unless he makes almost very rarely important announcements to the populace of the city, it could be my theory or Dilan's or maybe even both, we don't know, all we know is that this isn't the first time that Lea kid has tried to snoop into the castle, me and Dilan once caught him trying to sneak in along with his friend who i think i recall was named Isa sometime before you arrived here, Xehanort, those two are the local hooligans around the city and if anything concerning trouble goes on, it normally revolves around those two, they are known for getting into trouble with the guards of Radiant Garden besides ourselves and were even one time caught stealing from a local vendor in the city, now we hear that they have just recently stolen a book from an old man in one of the city districts not too far from the castle, as far, as local news goes, that's all we know, we don't pay much attention to the rabble outside the castle grounds, we just leave that to the lesser ranked guards patrolling the city, anyways, we better get back to our shifts, we never know when monsters might try to enter Radiant Garden and attack the castle." said Aeleus, finishing speaking with Xehanort, as the latter, wondering about these two named both Lea and Isa decides to go look for them and see what all the fuss is that they are supposedly creating. Walking towards the city district that Aeleus mentioned before, Xehanort finds himself meeting with the old man that Aeleus also mentioned, his name is Merlin and for some reason, he seems vaguely familiar towards Xehanort, nevertheless, Xehanort asks Merlin about Lea, Isa and the book they supposedly stole from him, during the conversation, Merlin says to Xehanort: "...Hmm? my book? oh goodness gracious no! those buffoons at the castle and patrolling around the city, why, they have it all wrong! you see, those boys didn't steal the book from me, in fact, they had returned it to me after a cheapskate merchant tried to buy the book from me and i refused, i told him that i was holding onto the book for safekeeping in case three young individuals would come back and would want to unlock the book's both strange and mysterious powers, however, that merchant of all things had managed to pull a fast one on me and secretly steal the book from me without me knowing or looking at the time, he was trying to pawn it off at the local vendors within the city before i even had the chance to find him and catch him before it was too late! honestly, of all things to happen, me, the great wizard Merlin having fallen for a cheap trick like that! honestly, if i fall for things like that again, i'll have no choice but to admit i am old at my age, me? old? bah! ...a-anyways, digressing, fortunately, those two young lads had managed to catch wind of what was going on between me and that merchant and after he had stolen the book from me, they were determined to get it back no matter what! ...provided i would provide them with a fee for their "good services", i told them that if they were thinking of gaining things like either gold or money from me, i was better off without the book if that was what they were going to demand of all things, as a reward, after i told them this, they instead decided to settle for free Sea Salt Ice Cream, that request i was willing to fulfill for them upon getting the book back of which they did, even though they got in trouble with the local guards and the merchant claimed that he was merely a "poor, innocent victim", even though all of us knew better, nevertheless, those bumbling, idiotic guards had sided with the merchant and the boys were sentenced to community service for what they did was "wrong", honestly, is there no justice anymore in this World? no righting the wrongs? sigh...at any rate, if you see the boys, please tell them that i once again give thanks for getting me the book back, i just know that when those three young people return again they will want to unlock even more hidden potentials from the book...speaking of which, you my lad to be honest actually remind me of one of them, though i can't exactly recall his appearance, he had a dark hue of hair to be sure and he was wearing an arm-guard of unique make , i know i would be putting it out there to say if by any chance you were related to that young man, no? if not, please excuse my manners, i was just reminiscing was all, now then, if you will excuse me, i must attend back to my books, it won't be everyday that i will learn to use more spells for the benefits of others, who knows? i might just one day help a young man one day be crowned king within the future, ha ha! that will be the day, to be sure! anyways, ahem! i take my leave." said Merlin after his very long story and speech, as Xehanort now knew the whole story behind both Lea and Isa's supposed "trouble-making", after hearing Merlin's story, apparently they were to be doing community service for Radiant Garden right about now, Xehanort had decided to go to the outer gardens for he judged that if anything that was meant by community service, it would mean cleaning up the old water fountain that was seen located in the middle of the outer gardens, as Xehanort headed there, he started to recall a rather vague and fuzzy Memory deep inside of his head that from what he could try to remember about the Memory featured the wizard Merlin who Xehanort was just talking to supposedly talking to a young man in similar appearance to Xehanort more or less, however, the Memory was too hazy to make anything more clear and precise out of so Xehanort decided to just forget about the Memory and leave it at that, deciding to instead focus on what he believed his Heart was telling him to do. The Transcendent Key 12,109 Posted February 12, 2018 Wow, I just really love how organic the story feels as you include more of the original characters and the Disney characters as well! You do a really good job of portraying the story as though we were watching cutscenes of the game! And I just love how you make Xehanort see these visions, these memories of Terra. It symbolizes that struggle within that Xehanort and Terra continuously have over his body! I loved that touch! And I love how you gave Lea and Isa some more details into who they were at the time and how they behaved. It gives a better sense of how other people saw them, ya know? Also, I think it's a great idea for you to integrate elements of Kingdom Hearts III as well! 1 Iamkingdomhearts1000 reacted to this

Also, I think it's a great idea for you to integrate elements of Kingdom Hearts III as well! Thanks, though please tell me if there is anything you find wrong with the story so far and i'll edit it. At the Radiant Garden outer gardens, it was here that Xehanort found the two boys that he was looking for, Lea and Isa, cleaning up the fountain within the middle of the outer gardens that leads to the sewers of Radiant Garden below, he could overhear both Lea and Isa talking to themselves, as Lea said to Isa the words: "...Sigh, oh come on! how much of this rusty old fountain are we supposed to clean!? man! this is annoying!!" said Lea, as Isa replied: "...First of all Lea, you can only call it "rusty" if the fountain wasn't working altogether and second of all, your the one who had the bright idea to think that he could meet with the great Ansem the Wise in order to lessen this "community service" of ours, instead, due to your usual idiocy with the castle guards did the lower guards decide to bump up this work of ours by making us clean the whole outer gardens instead of just the fountain itself for the next whole three days, if anything, i-" said Isa before Lea interrupted him, saying: "DON'T even say it Isa!" said Lea but Isa continued to speak anyways, ignoring Lea: "Told you so." said Isa, Lea giving Isa evils for finishing his sentence, as Lea then replied to Isa: "...Come on man, what were WE supposed to do? just let that merchant make off with property that didn't belong to him? to me, that wouldn't have looked good for our personal profiles, if anything, i want girls to remember us for being cool and willing to help others." said Lea, as Isa then replied himself: "Oh? so your saying that you just helped the old man simply because you wanted a girlfriend in the future?" said Isa, Lea then said the words: "Its not just that, the old guy was in trouble and well, i want to be remembered for being someone who looked out for others, not JUST for any personal gain or benefit or anything but that doing the right thing is what feels to me my Heart's calling, know what i mean Isa?" said Lea, Isa merely shrugged with a smile on his face before saying: "...Honestly, you know what Lea? ...you've changed, its not been that long but ever since you met that weird kid a while back, you've started to act like a completely different person, before you just didn't seem to care about the whole World around you, look at you now." said Isa, as Lea gets angry and replies: "OH! your saying that i didn't care about anything at all, is that it!? PUH-LEASE Isa!" just then, the two started laughing among themselves, Xehanort watched, wondering why they are even laughing to begin with when they are doing work for something that got them into trouble, he just couldn't understand what they were thinking, he then heard Lea say something else: "Ha ha ha...anyways, i haven't seen that guy around in a while, have you Isa?" said Lea, as Isa simply replied: "Nah, haven't seen him at all, you think he moved to somewhere else?" said Isa, as Lea started talking by saying the words: "...No, i don't think so and even if he did, i know, that we will see him again...got it memorized?" said Lea, looking up towards the sky of Radiant Garden, hoping to meet a certain person he met not too long ago in the past, Xehanort wondered just who Lea was talking about, Isa said to Lea: "Hey Lea, look at the time, it seems we're done for the day, we can clean up the rest of this rusty old thing tomorrow." said Isa, as he started to take his leave, Lea following in suite, saying to Isa: "See? now your calling it "rusty", ah ha ha ha!" said Lea, as both he and Isa passed by Xehanort both left and right without even noticing his presence, Xehanort looked down towards the ground, seemingly saddened for some reason, he said to himself: "...What I do, I do for friendship." said Xehanort, he didn't even know what he was saying, it just came to mind to him after he overheard both Lea and Isa talking with one another, just then, he saw the underground passageway entrance to the sewers within the fountain open up and out of sheer curiosity, he decided to enter the fountain, leading him down to the sewers. It was here that Xehanort found himself in a large circular area beneath Radiant Garden and upon standing in the exact middle of the area whilst looking around did his head then start to hurt greatly, he tried to ease the pain but it just wouldn't stop, all he could hear was the same word being uttered again and again throughout his head, it said: "USE THE KEYBLADE! USE THE KEYBLADE!! USE THE KEYBLADE!!!" shouted out again and again inside Xehanort's head, he said to himself: "K...Key...blade? Key...blade? AH!" suddenly, Xehanort's head started to flood with Memories of the aforementioned weapon he kept hearing inside his head over and over, they were multiple versions of the same weapon to be sure but upon picturing a certain version of the weapon, did Xehanort shout out to himself the words: "...KEYBLADE!" shouted Xehanort, as he then automatically summoned within his hand a demonic looking like version of the weapon he kept saying to himself about, he looked at it with sheer curiousness and, as he held it within the palm of his hand, he said to himself the words: "...A Keyblade...Darkness cannot be destroyed. It can only be, channeled..." said Xehanort, just then, a evil smirk was seen upon his face before he proceeded to dis-summon his Keyblade and leave the sewers behind him, not too far away watching from behind the scenes was none other then Braig, he looked on at the scene, having caught only glimpses of it whilst rubbing the scar on his cheek, lastly saying to himself: "Was that? no, can't be, its still way too early for that, plus, the dude's supposed to have lost his Memories...or maybe? nah, as if! for now, i'll just see things, as they play out, wouldn't want my dear friend Xehanort to suddenly start developing a "conscience", if you know what i mean, heh heh." said Braig, as we lastly see a closeup of his bright yellow eye, smirking to himself about what he has planned in mind for Xehanort. The Transcendent Key 12,109 Posted February 13, 2018 Excellent, excellent, another great chapter! Seriously, I am loving this! It's like you've gotten inside the minds of the characters and it's as if you were Nomura himself writing out a script! Very well done, I just loved Isa and Lea's interactions, they seemed legit and ideal for their characters, and I love how Xehanort keeps getting these glimpses into his memories, little by little! I'm guessing that soon, his sinister side shall fully emerge, and he shall awaken! As for anything wrong, the only thing I could say is that you seem to write the sentences without pause. Like, if you make a paragraph, you extend it into one giant sentence with commas in between. When I was reading it, it was like I was trying to speed through the chapter because of the lack of periods. And after sentences, the first letter of a new sentence starts with a capital letter, but really, that's about the only thing wrong. You can just keep improving upon it with your next chapters, though. Seriously, I'm hooked on this story, I'm loving it!

Xehanort suddenly woke up. he had a memory of someone saying something long, long ago...he tried to summon his Keyblade again but to no avail, as Xehanort decided to get up for the day, it was then that Even knocked on his door and had relayed some news to Xehanort: "Xehanort, get up! master Ansem want us, ALL of us, apparently we are expecting...a visitor." said Even, Xehanort did not understand what Even meant. nevertheless, he decided to get ready so that he could meet this certain "visitor". No, the conversation between both Ansem and Mickey won't happen this chapter since Ansem and his apprentices have only just started researching Darkness, it will happen in the next few chapters as there will be a timeskip. 1 The Transcendent Key reacted to this

Iamkingdomhearts1000 1,170 Posted February 15, 2018 (edited) Xehanort, Even, Ienzo, Braig, Dilan and Aeleus were all lined up in order in Ansem the Wise's office, it was here that the apprentices were waiting for their master and this certain visitor that Even mentioned to Xehanort earlier, just then, Ansem had appeared, entering the office, as he sat down upon his chair, saying to everyone "Xehanort, Even, Ienzo, Braig, Dilan, Aeleus...today we are welcoming a special guest...one...from another World." said Ansem, shocking everyone except Xehanort, Ienzo and Braig who had seemed to be aware that there were more Worlds then one outside of Radiant Garden, as Dilan says to his master Ansem "A visitor? from another World? surely you must be joking lord Ansem, why, its sheer poppycock." said Dilan, only for Even to retort by saying "Is it? Dilan?" said Even, Aeleus replied "Even?" as Even then begun saying "It is clear that through our research on both Hearts and the Light that there exist more Worlds then one, in fact, according to the research that we have already made thus far, it foretells of certain "Doors" and a "Heart to all Worlds", what this could mean however, i do not know, it may just very well be sheer folly, however, the research indicates that the existence of other Worlds cannot and should be denied, isn't that right? master Ansem?" said Even, Xehanort and Braig were both silent upon hearing the mentions of Doors and a Heart to all Worlds whilst Ansem merely continued speaking "That is true, Even, although it was a already known and established fact that other Worlds besides our very own exist within the cosmos, we had little to no conformation that there was actually life on those other Worlds...that is, until recently, this visitor of ours...he most definitely comes from another World, for his appearance is quite...unique, to a say in a way..." said Ansem, as Aeleus replied "Unique how? master Ansem?" said Aeleus, Ansem replied himself to Aeleus saying "Why Aeleus, surely you have met the visitor before not too very long ago, have you not?" said Ansem, Aeleus thought to himself for a moment before then realizing who Ansem was talking about, saying the words "Master! you don't mean--!?" said Aeleus, just then, someone knocked on the door and whilst some of the apprentices were startled, Ansem merely smirked, saying "Ah, that would be our guest, Xehanort, please, open the door for him." said Ansem, Xehanort nodded and had proceeded to open the door to Ansem's office, he didn't notice anybody until he heard a voice down below, the voice said "Gosh, you sure are intimidating for a fella, aren't ya?", Xehanort looked down and to his both surprise and especially shock, it was a talking almost humanoid mouse who lastly says to Xehanort "Hi! i'm Mickey! Mickey Mouse!" said the mouse, identifying himself, as Mickey. (To be continued.). (Continuing from where i left off :]: "WHAA!?!? WHAT-WHAT IS THAT-THAT THING!?!? ITS A-A-A...RAT!!! A GIANT RAT!!!" shouted out Even, as he jumped up towards Aeleus and placed himself around the latter's head, Even was absolutely terrified of all kinds of mouses, mice, rats and other kinds of rodents, he wanted Mickey to leave his sight, as very soon, as very possible, he shouted out towards Dilan the words "DILAN! KILL IT! KILL IIITTT!!!" shouted out Even with a freaked out girlish shriek, Dilan, not fazed by Mickey's appearance prepared to set his lance upon the mouse only for Ansem to shout out, slamming his desk and preventing his apprentice from taking action "DILAN! STOP!! EVEN! CALM DOWN!! this mouse IS our visitor from another World, he is a king, royal king Mickey Mouse of the kingdom of Disney!" said Ansem, Even's face then went with a puzzled expression upon hearing Ansem's words, Dilan upon hearing Ansem albeit slowly had laid down his weapon, Ienzo went up to the mouse and, as everyone thought that he was going to do something, Ienzo merely looked at Mickey's big mouse ears with a straight on staring intent before deciding to slightly pull on the ears, as Mickey then said upon Ienzo pulling his ears the words "Whoa! that tickles!!" said Mickey, Ienzo then decided to stop upon seeing Mickey's reaction and everyone else had then seemed relieved that Mickey didn't take insult to Ienzo's sudden actions, Xehanort and Braig didn't really care more or less either way on the matter, however, upon seeing the back of Mickey's head, a sudden flash went through Xehanort's head, its, as though he was trying to recall a sudden memory buried deep within him, as everything and everyone went on, Mickey decided to speak up and say to everyone the words "Hi everyone! my name is Mickey, gosh, i'm sorry if i caused you all to panic, that was my bad, please, forgive me." said Mickey, bowing his head down in forgiveness, as Ansem replied shaking his hands "No, no! your majesty! please! it is we that should be apologizing to you, RIGHT Even?" said Ansem, starring dead on at Even, as Even saw his master giving him a stern look and pointed his finger to himself, saying "Huh? who, what? ME!?" said Even, it was then that Aeleus dropped Even to the floor, causing him to quickly get back up and rub the dirt off the floor he received on his clothing, next saying "Oh-oh right, yes, please...forgive me, your highness..." said Even, bowing down towards Mickey though still not especially fond of the fact that he was a mouse, Mickey merely smiled and had accepted Even's apology before then seeing Xehanort having a headache, he says towards Xehanort "Hey, are you okay? you don't look too good." said Mickey, Xehanort reassured Mickey after the headache subsided by saying the words "N-no, please, i'm fine, don't...don't worry, about it..." said Xehanort, catching both Braig and Ansem's attention, at any rate, the latter proceeds to reveal on why Mickey is here at the Radiant Garden "Now then, everyone, form up and listen well, the king here is going to address a few things to you about our Worlds, how they are linked and yet at the very same time, how they are disconnected from one another, everything that i don't know, the king will explain to you, he has a far better "story" to tell then i do, now then..." said Ansem, letting Mickey know it was his turn to shine, Mickey happily agreeing then begins to say his piece "Thank you lord Ansem the Wise, now then, ahem: as everyone studying Hearts, Light and Darkness knows...all Worlds are connected to one another yet they are branched off from each other, preventing travel and interplanetary talks between them, the reason for this being is because, well, gosh, i don't know how to really explain this but you see, there are these special "pocket dimensions" if you want to call them that called the Lanes Between and only "certain" types of people can travel the lanes, the lanes are the only means necessary able to travel between Worlds, unless you found someway to break down the walls between the Worlds, you can only access other Worlds through the Lanes Between, however, as i mentioned before, welp, only special type of lane openers exist and you see, during an ancient time long ago, according to my mentor who knows all, just like lord Ansem, the only way to open the lanes is by unlocking special doorways through the use of inanimate objects, they could be anything, a person's pocket watch for example." said Mickey, pointing towards the pocket watch leaning out of Even's trousers before continuing with his explanation "These objects have to belong in the World from which they originate in order to open the doorways, however...the reason why i am here is because i asked an old friend residing in this town to transport me here, as i didn't want to open the lane to this World, due to keeping a secret pact i had made with my master, i won't say anymore on that matter but anyways, continuing on...however, there are other means of traversing the Worlds, means far more dangerous then anyone could ever dare hope to imagine..." said Mickey, as suddenly, Xehanort replied, saying the words "Like what?" in a rude manner, Ansem tried to correct his behavior "Xehanort!" said Ansem, upon hearing that name, Mickey felt a sudden shock coursing down his spine, like, as though his mind was trying to remember something "...Xeha, nort? ..." said Mickey, starring deep into Xehanort's eyes that looked like they were full of hate, the look of his eyes were scaring Mickey, enough to draw his attention away from Xehanort, not wanting to look into such a cold expression, sadly, Mickey could not recall anything regarding the name Xehanort whatsoever and instead decided to get back to the crux of the matter's conversation, he calmed Ansem down by saying "Its alright lord Ansem, its...alright..." said Mickey, although he had decided to focus on other things, the name Xehanort at the back of his head was still bothering him but for the very life of the mouse, he could not recall a thing about what the name Xehanort means, returning back to what he was talking about previously, Mickey says the words "...As for what i was talking about before, there are other means of traversing the Worlds without using the Lanes Between?" said Mickey, as Dilan replied "Such as?" in a cold tone, Mickey himself replied "...Corridors of Darkness, those affiliated with the Dark have the power to use the Darkness within their very Hearts to navigate through the deepest, darkest, blackest parts of the cosmos, almost like an abyss and by traversing through that abyss, can they end up in another World of their choosing, however...by using those corridors, its, as though that they lose parts of themselves, if they don't protect themselves wisely...they could end up losing their entire beings, gosh, even their whole Hearts in one fell swoop! gulp!" said Mickey, Ansem then reveals the true nature of what brings Mickey here to Radiant Garden "Which is why my lord mouse has come here to warn us, about our research...into Darkness, me and the king have been in contact for not so very long a while now, however, we have gotten to know each other better enough that the king is rather concerned about our research and just wants to make sure that what we are doing is for the benefit of the people, that we are currently on the right path..." said Ansem, Braig then suddenly replies "What? so your gonna listen to some mouse just because both him and you have got second thoughts about researching into the Darkness of peoples' Hearts? please, as if old man! you ought to get your memory checked, as far, as i'm concerned, YOUR the one who permitted Xehanort's idea into dabbling with Darkness but now your basically saying that we should cut off our noses to spite our faces? no way! AS IF! all i see is a chicken, a chicken sitting high and mighty atop a throne, speaking with another chicken, a mouse chicken to be exact, too scared to try new things and i say to the both of you: BWAH! BWAH! BWAH, BWAH, BWAH!!! --" said Braig, mocking both Ansem the Wise, his master and Mickey, earning the former's fury, as Ansem slammed ontop of his desk and had shouted out towards Braig "BRAIG! THAT-IS-ENOUGH! enough...Braig, for a while now, you have been disregarding orders, shirking your duties, as a royal protector of Radiant Garden and worse, you pick on the weak when it suits your sadistic traits and tendencies, for a while now, Braig...i have overlooked your spite towards others, you may mock me, you may mock your fellow apprentices but i will not have you mock our gracious guest who has come all this way just to warn us about the possible dangers of our research, Braig...he is trying to help us! to help YOU!" said Ansem. Braig merely replied with a cold expression and tone "...Your point? i never ASKED for ANYONE's protection! as far, as I'M concerned, i don't need anyone, least of all you old geezer...forget this, i'm out of here." said Braig, turning around, leaving everyone behind, leaving out of Ansem's office, as Ansem calls out to Braig one last time "Braig!" however, Braig purposely would not answer, Xehanort just looked on quietly, seeing Braig rebel against Ansem, as Mickey looked disheartened by this turn of events and everyone else were left to ponder to their own thoughts, Ansem tried to calm himself down, as lastly, Ienzo, starring at Braig's back, his eyes started turning dark bright again, exactly just like a few days ago when Xehanort just recently fell from the top of Radiant Garden's castle whilst having ice cream with the youngest apprentice of Ansem. Iamkingdomhearts1000 1,170 Posted February 16, 2018 (edited) The meeting continued after Braig had left, after the meeting ended, Ansem allowed everyone to be excused and had decided to speak with Mickey in private, as everyone left Ansem's study, Xehanort, the last one to leave started to overhear both Ansem and Mickey talking to one another about the former's research, Xehanort had heard Ansem speak, saying the words "King Mickey my friend, please, forgive Braig for his earlier behaviour, although he may have a short fuse and bullies others, he nevertheless stands, as one of Radiant Garden's loyal protectors, i have been trying to find ways for him to vent his temper but sadly, to no avail..." said Ansem, as Mickey replied "Aww its okay lord Ansem, it just shows you care about him, after all, he is your student and you only want what's best for him, am i right?" said Mickey, Ansem was surprised by Mickey's words but laughed a little upon hearing them, saying to the small mouse king "Yes, you are right, i wish the best for all my apprentices, especially Ienzo, i am hoping that one day he will grow up to be a brave and caring young man, one who will surpass me and all of his other fellow disciples, i hope...that eventually one day, he might take my place, as the sage of Radiant Garden, helping our young princess when she comes of age and will again eventually one day rule our fair World with a just hand and a especially kind Heart." said Ansem, Xehanort thought to himself "...Princess?" as he had never heard of Radiant Garden having a princess before and that only Ansem was the ruler of Radiant Garden, Mickey is also surprised upon hearing this, replying towards Ansem "Princess? what do you mean wise Ansem?" said Mickey, Ansem began speaking "Well...!? shush" before noticing that someone was listening in on their conversation, namely Xehanort, he decided to whisper through Mickey's ear, after telling him about the supposed princess of the city of Light, Mickey was shocked to learn the details. Xehanort upon not learning anything due to Ansem's whispering had decided to stop eavesdropping and leave the corridor leading towards Ansem's study alone now, as he left, Braig ambushed Xehanort, smirking and talking to Xehanort "HA! what a show huh? i got that old fool believing i was playing the part of a simple brute, as if huh?" said Braig, Xehanort shrugged him off, saying towards Braig "...So, you were merely playing the role of a jester? ...i don't believe you." said Xehanort, Braig replied "Believe what you want, at any rate, that's not what i want to talk to you about, i want to share with you a little secret that Ansem the "Wise" has been keeping a secret from everyone, care to hear about it?" said Braig, Xehanort, albeit annoyed by Braig's personally was curious to know what did the evilly smirking man with a eye-patch knew about their mentor Ansem, as it appeared that Ansem had more secrets to tell then first met the eyes of Xehanort, Braig decided to lead Xehanort elsewhere upon noticing that Xehanort was automatically "hooked", "dying" to know about Ansem, Braig took Xehanort to a secret study of Ansem's that was available to no one, other then Ansem himself, hence why Xehanort had never seen it before, the study was full of cobwebs and laying on a desk in front of both Xehanort and Braig, the latter standing by the secret entrance leading to the study was a dusty diary, Xehanort after dusting and cleaning it off had decided to read the diary entitled: "The Legacy of Light, Radiance formed in a small Garden...by Ansem.", it was from this book that Xehanort would learn certain answers that he had subconsciously been seeking and with knowing these answers...pray tell, what would he do next with them? the key lies buried...deep within the pages of the diary and thus, Xehanort started to begin reading... The Transcendent Key 12,109 Posted February 17, 2018 I've loved it all so far, it's a pretty interesting story, and the fluid continuity between chapters is excellent! Oh wow, so Ansem wishes for Ienzo to be his successor, huh? That's a pretty big deal! Too bad he and the other apprentices end up betraying him, though. Hmm, and I wonder what this diary that Xehanort is reading contains? I bet it has all sorts of secrets!

Iamkingdomhearts1000 1,170 Posted February 19, 2018 Chapter IV.5/0: A Story told in Darkness and of Light: "...Long ago, when the Radiant Garden was first being created, as a independent kingdom, it went by another name...Hollow Bastion, to refer to the emptiness of the World, as a whole until it was filled with something, something...irreplaceable. At this time, i was just a young apprentice in the studies of science along with another named Kevin Flynn, together, we worked at a place called ENCOM, a company that was devoted towards the advancements of Hollow Bastion in both science and machinery, as i chose to study science, Flynn decided to study machines and although we had worked in different departments, we had remained the best of friends. One day, i found Flynn had sent me a message, saying something about how he was working on something "big", something..."revolutionary", that would change the entire World itself with naught but a flash for the nearby future that was oncoming, when i went to meet with Flynn however...he could be found nowhere, only blueprints, schematics and plans were found on his desk and i could find no trace of him, none whatsoever...it would be after this time that i had tried to act, as a surrogate parent to Flynn's young son Sam, however, just like his father before him, he had a certain streak of, shall we say? rebelliousness to him, it was almost laughable really if it did not remind me of the saddening fact that my friend was missing, nevertheless...i persisted and had tried to help Sam learn and grow, as a individual, however, Sam had decided that he was better off learning things on his own and that he did not need me, a reminder both of and from his father's past that his father went missing and so, deciding to honour Flynn one last time, i had used my knowledge of science and from what i was learning about the fundamentals of machinery after Flynn had disappeared to build Sam his own device based on his father's designs, hoping that he would figure out if his father had indeed disappeared and if so, we were ready to rescue him when the chance was ready to be fulfilled, but...sadly, before i could, Sam...he too had disappeared and thus, i shut down the device i had built for Sam, refusing to let anyone else become victims of what led to the family of Flynns' disappearances...however, even though i shut down the device, i still kept it on standby, hoping that the Flynns would return and when they did, we could all celebrate together with one another...call it a "gut" instinct on my part if you will, even though i am meant to be a scientist that studies facts, not feelings...nevertheless, i could feel it, this is what would be called to me in the dreams i would have after all of this the testaments to the feelings of...my Heart, it would appear that my Heart is commanding my actions and this is why i refused to give up hope entirely for both Kevin and Sam's returns, even though it seems all for naught, i did not let ENCOM know of my actions and had decided to leave the company, bringing along all of the plans that Kevin had in mind for personal usage in the future, still keeping my...Heart's hopes up. In time a while after that, ENCOM had shut down and mostly all of its remnants had scattered away, leaving the original memory of the company within peoples' minds to be lost, seemingly forever, only i who worked at the company still recalled its name and its practices, i was growing old by this time, i was not the young lad that i once was when i first started studying science at ENCOM, however, i refused to let this get me down and instead, i push forward, hoping, that...my Heart would be my guiding "Key", as it were...for some reason, that phrase just came to mind inside of my head all of a sudden, i did not ever hear it being mentioned before, perhaps...perhaps it was just a invention of a phrase i just made up...or...was it? around this time, i felt like i was being fooled, fooled by my very own Heart and thus, deciding to be fooled no longer, i began my very own private research into the workings of the so called "Heart" and its influences on not just me but other people, as well, seeing if there was a grander scheme at work. Not only was i also working at this time but it was around this very same time that i had met someone, someone who would become most very important and especially special to me, her name was...Strelitzia...she was someone rather, unique, to say in a term, she had told me that just like me, she too was being led by her Heart, as a guiding Key towards the future and that she was hoping with the passage of time, no matter how long it took, she would find, according to her Heart...love, love and a family to go along, although i had never really understood the concepts of what both love and family means, in the latter case, i am an orphan who grew up not having a family, nevertheless, these ideas that Strelitzia had presented to me were unusual by since they were supposedly the callings out and the workings of the Heart that i was studying, i became intrigued to study them to find out more of the Heart's wishes and desires and so with Strelitzia's permission, i had asked her to become my assistant and together, we had started studying research into what i would call "Heart Report Number I". Through the passage of time, more and more Heart Reports began to be filed and i had discovered through my research with Strelitzia that apparently, the driving force behind the actions of the Heart was the invisible force of the "Light", apparently all things good natured, kind, caring, loving and full of positive energies had made up this so called Light and it was from this very same Light that all we Humans at very early ages after being born into the World had learned how to automatically smile, a side effect of the Light's influence on us from when we are born? perhaps, at any rate, this was a rare if not very phenomenon to behold, it was a form of sleep, as i perceived it that was meant to interpret us starting our new beginnings in life, although very complicating to say at the "Heart" of all this, i had referred to this form of sleep, these new beginnings, as "Birth by Sleep", new beginnings through the unconscious awakening both from and of sleep, sleep holds our dreams, it holds our memories and...it may just very well hold our Hearts, as well, maybe, just maybe, what we perceive to be being awake at all times is just another form of sleep, it could be interpreted, as a wake-less sleep, in other-words, being neither sleeping or awake and hence, upon "awaking", do we truly start to see what new beginnings are laid out for us, Birth by Sleep...the term used to refer to one who has awakened from "sleeping" and is now fully "waking" to the Hearts of the World, of reality...could this be, my life's work? could it all begin...with Birth by Sleep? ARGH! I do not know the answer! I AM a scientist! I am SUPPOSED to know all facts and all answers about life! my work...it was, consuming me, because of the Heart's very complicated natures, i began getting frustrated, the first time i felt like this since i lost both Kevin and his son Sam to the fates of disappearance, because of my frustration, i began to start scaring Strelitzia, venting out my anger on her for when i could not answer the question to a riddle that a scientist was supposed to know, one day, eventually...i took my anger too far and Strelitzia, who had been by my side caring for me and working with me, could no longer suffer from the fact that i was suffering and thus, she removed herself from the equation...it-it was all my fault, by losing myself to anger, i had lost not only my best research associate but also...my only best friend in life, after that, i start to feel...light headed, that and heavy handed, as well...i could not see very clearly for a short time period, i was moping in despair over the losses of my good friends Kevin and Strelitzia until eventually, one day, my eyesight came back and i no longer felt like my hands were giant heavyweights, falling, trying to crush me down right below towards the ground...but, despite no longer despairing, i still felt something else, something...vile, that..."smelt" disgusting to use, as an expression, my anger...it had not diminished, it had only grown...stronger, for by losing my despair, i instead gained something else, the power of frustration buried deep within my Heart, somehow, i was able to control it but i still felt angered upon not getting the answers i wanted about the Heart, it was then on from that day forwards that, my eyes...they were no longer coloured cerulean blue but instead...gold, a shade and/or form of gold, i didn't know how to exactly describe the change of colour within my eyes, only that it was..."Dark", i felt like that my whole existence was trapped in a zero point in time, a zero pocket dimension, a zero existence..."Darkness in Zero" i called it, this was what came to be what i called my "Heart Report Number 4926" or, as i personally called it: "File: DiZ", it is my Heart Report description of what i felt in my Heart at that time, it was my "Story", told..."in Darkness". Iamkingdomhearts1000 1,170 Posted February 20, 2018 (edited) Chapter IV.5/0.II: Radiance is born: Xehanort continued reading through Ansem the Wise's personal secret diary full of Heart Reports, as Braig just looked on, smiling evilly at the knowledge that Xehanort was both learning and gaining...Xehanort continued to read through Ansem's diary, intrigued by all of the information it carries within with a dark intent filled inside of his eyes. In the diary, Xehanort had begun to learn more about Ansem's secret history into his research exploring the mysteries and the concepts of the Heart, upon further reading, he discovered what Ansem had to say next after about him having different colour eyes, he said: "...Not long after gaining this new colour within my eyes, i then began to notice other certain changes happening to me, for example, my ears were starting to turn slightly pointy and not only that but i felt something...something, malicious at work, though...i could never tell what exactly what that was at the time and even up to currently now, all i know is that it has never once left my side and instead, it had started urging me, urging me to research my studies into Hearts even more, to discover the fundamentals of what both the Light within a Heart is and how it affects a respective individual in question, it was because of this sudden urge and my ultimate guilt for the part i played in driving Strelitzia away that i at one time stopped researching the Heart, i was even tempted to destroy all of the notes i had made with Strelitzia but...for some reason, i just couldn't bring myself to do so, whether it was because of this malicious urge inside of me or something else entirely at work remains beyond me, however, i promised myself, if it was ever because of the former, i would destroy all of my Heart Reports without a second thought, i will not endanger the lives of my kin, the peaceful people of Hollow Bastion, i will not, me and Flynn promised each other that we would work to help better our World, in the hopes that over the course of time that our city's name of Hollow Bastion would be changed to something else, something that would inspire hope to all our people and so, after a while, i had returned to researching Hearts without Strelitzia's help and by the time i had reached the 13th volume of my Heart Reports, i had heard great and wonderful news, it turns out that Strelitzia had found what she had been searching for all along, the "love" in which she spoke of by finding her one true love in the form of Hollow Bastion's royal prince, he was a kind and generous ruler, often disobeying his father the king to explore the outside of the castle to find wonders beyond that of castle library books all about fiction, action and adventure, to be honest, in truth, the king had once hired me to be the prince's royal tutor, though, at first, we didn't exactly get along with one another, it was only through shared interests and a respective understanding of each other that we became the good friends that we eventually did, it was funny, in a sense, it almost reminded me of the good times i spent my friendship with Flynn, you see, after Flynn and his son Sam disappeared, i never-i never really made anymore friends after that in fear of losing them to whatever, call me paranoid i know but nevertheless, it was thanks to my friendship with the prince that was now forged that my walls of self protection had broken down and i had started to open up to others besides Strelitzia, me, the prince and Strelitzia were all around the same age at that time and it was rather ironic that both the prince and Strelitzia found themselves attracted to one another and that i knew the both of them personally, at first, the king did not approve of their relationship but upon me intervening for the sake of their love and what i saw, as a chance to mend my friendship with Strelitzia did the king decide to change his mind and had appointed me, as not the prince's royal tutor anymore but instead, his royal adviser, after that, me, the prince and Strelitzia became an unbreakable three of friends, mine and Strelitzia's own friendship beforehand now reforged and stronger then ever and together, we even resumed working together, studying research on peoples' Hearts and the Light within them, the prince now included in helping making our research better then ever, as due to his royal connections, he presented to both me and Strelitzia a gift, a supercomputer funded by all of the prince's scientific working divisions that was called the Hollow Bastion Operating System or for short the Hollow Bastion OS, as a side project and to return the prince's favour to him, the king and all of Hollow Bastion's citizens, we designed a defense mechanism to support the city from all kinds of threats, including that of even monsters, we called the defense mechanism Claymore and how it worked was that it would lock on to a person's Heart signature and if sensing high levels of danger and/or evil emitting from their Hearts would Claymore lock onto them and attack them, driving them out of the city, Claymore was only to be used in case if Hollow Bastion was ever faced with such dangers, the prince and king were proud of our work and we were proud to happily help in contributing to Hollow Bastion's happiness, not long after that, the prince had proposed to Strelitzia, wanting her to marry him and after accepting his proposal, they were engaged for a whole year until finally getting married, i served, as the prince's best man, in servitude to all that i had done for both him and especially Strelitzia, the prince made me feel like i had finally regained in a sense the lost friendship i once had with Flynn and for a moment, just a brief moment, i looked into a mirror and thought that i could see my cerulean blue coloured eyes again, perhaps...it was only just an optical illusion, but...did that mean that just for a moment and for a moment only...i had let go of the anger built inside my Heart previously? perhaps, maybe so...it was all thanks to Strelitzia, who helped in my research of the Heart and in turn the prince that me and Strelitzia were both connected to, it was funny but, it was then, around this time, i had finally noticed something about Strelitzia, something...i had never noticed before, not because of my ever enthusiasm for my work but because of the anger i had held previously that i still hold within my Heart, as a sign my eye colour still being the same, my anger...it had blinded me towards the truth of the identity of Strelitzia's Heart and that...it was Light, in its purest form, pure, Light...Strelitzia...had a Heart filled with nothing but pure Light.".
