TheFVguy 49 Posted January 28, 2018 So the new Shadow of Colossus remake is coming and let me just say I have never played this game, yet I have heard so many great things about it. Do you guys and gals recommend me to buy the original one that came out years ago or is this remake fine? 2 RuddnioJib and Stanislawa reacted to this
RuDoe Ry 139 Posted January 29, 2018 (edited) I would definitely go for the Remake since it's only 40 bucks and I absolutely love Shadow Colossus it really is a masterpiece. you are in a Forbidden land with nothing but your horse and 16 huge colossi that you must take down. Its actually a pretty lonely game but that's the art and beauty of it. On the Forbidden land there are things you can find to increase your stanima and health so that's always fun and if you fill up all your stanima all the way you can climb the castle and there's a few Easter eggs up there that I won't spoil for you. But I just love this game the atmosphere just everything nothing but you your horse your and your soul. ( and a few Birds reptiles and fish here and there lol) I've beaten the game at least 10 times on the PS2 and PS3. There really isn't any kind of game out there like it. Definitely go for the PS4 version. I am going to keep buying this game every single new generation a PlayStation comes out PlayStation 5 6 7 & Beyond as long as they keep remaking it I'll keep buying it lol. The Transcendent Key 12,109 Posted January 30, 2018 Well, I've heard great things about this game, and that it was quite groundbreaking when it first came out. I bet that the best way you could be able to enjoy it is to definitely get yourself the remake, since it's the most definitive version of the game, ya know? FlipMode 141 Posted March 2, 2018 They did change the gameplay a tiny bit in the remake but I still say its the definitive way to play the game for sure. The original PS2 release had horrendous frame rae drops and to be honest with you the PS3 remaster didn't do a whole lot better in places lol. But yeah the PS4 remake runs a lot smoother and is infinitely better to look at. Either way though its the scale of the game and its fantastic minimalist approach to story telling and world building that will really stand out. 1 The Transcendent Key reacted to this

I always wondered just how a game like Shadow Of The Colossus could have run on a PS2, considering all the giant Colossi that were massive and probably required lots of framework and whatever work it is that's done to make characters in games move and function!
