Connected 978 Posted January 5, 2018 (edited) Hello fellow Keyblade warriors! I was thinking a lot about the future of Kingdom Hearts, since Kingdom Hearts 3 will be the last game of the Xehanort Saga we will probably see some big changes in the future games. I'm a huge fan of Kingdom Hearts as most of us. Still there are things I wish they added in the series or did differently. So i'm here to talk about What I would love to see in the future game. More original Character. One of the main reason I love Kingdom Hearts is because of his great characters. They all have their large and unique backstory. Yet I feel like they focus more on Disney characters. More Character developments. I think it would be cool to see a more drama aspect in characters. Like love developments (and not dragging it out for 3 main-games ), friendship developments and fights between multiple characters. They kinda did this with the Final Fantasy characters back in Kingdom Hearts 2 in Hollow Bastion. For me it was such a joy to watch that, so it would be amazing to see that with some of the original character. And I think that this is really possible if they make the remainig Organization XIII (The somebodies of; Xigbar, Xaldin, Vexen, Lexaeus, Zexion, Demyx and Larxene) good guys and will get their own new side story. Multiple stories during a game.I Kinda said this in the previous point but it would be great to see more stories in a game that is not about Sora and his gang. Like I said that i'm hoping that the the remaining More original Worlds less Disney.I feel like that Square Enix/Tetsuya Nomura is way too humble about making their own worlds and stories with it. Personally I love their original worlds WAY more then the story of the Disney worlds. I feel like there would be a more surprise about what is going to happen. In the Disney world we visit it's kinda the same thing over and over again. We need to help them get rid of the heartless/nobodies. Then a BIG boss fight. Twilight Town, Hollow Bastion, Traverse Town, End of the World and the World that Never Was felt always unpredictable which was really nice!. Death. This may sound a little dark to some of you, but death has literally no meaning in the Kingdom Hearts Universe since everyone keeps returning from it. I think we can't feel sad or feel bad about it when a character dies. So I would like to some deaths here an there, how dark that may sound. That were my points of things I want to see in the future games. Do you agree with some or disagree? Or do you have some point of your own ? Please share. Felixx 6,646 Posted January 6, 2018 About the More Original Characters point: I agree to some extent. I also would love to have more original characters... that aren't Sora or Xehanort I think the plain number of OCs is fine, but way too many are just incarnations of Sora and Xehanort. It's even worse when they share the same design, that's just lazy and lame in my opinion. I seriously hope for example the True Organization won't just be a bunch of old reused characters and Xehanort incarnations, would be awesome to have some new and unique ones. 1 Connected reacted to this
KHFreak123 22 Posted January 6, 2018 Ummm. KH is a Disney game. If there are less Disney worlds can you really call this a Disney game anymore?

Like I said that i'm hoping that the the remaining Agreed, the original characters and worlds are easily the best part of any given Kingdom Hearts game. The Disney characters just don't have the uniqueness that the original characters do, and by that I mean the Disney characters have already had their personalities set in stone long before Kingdom Hearts was a thing. It's hard to give character development to characters that did all their developing decades ago without completely throwing out all that development. As for the original characters themselves, I'm actually hoping Nomura decides to go back on his word and just retires Sora in particular as the main protagonist going forward after Kingdom Hearts 3 finally releases. The other original characters are fine, but Sora quite bluntly is a pretty awful protagonist who is cliched to the extreme. Not that he doesn't have any depth at all but it is minimal. Sora is just another typical all loving hero protagonist and has become hilariously powerful at this point which they have to keep on resetting him back to level 1 every game to keep him from simply slaughtering everything after Kingdom Hearts 1 with ease. More original Worlds less Disney. I feel like that Square Enix/Tetsuya Nomura is way too humble about making their own worlds and stories with it. Personally I love their original worlds WAY more then the story of the Disney worlds. I feel like there would be a more surprise about what is going to happen. Twilight Town, Hollow Bastion, Traverse Town, End of the World and the World that Never Was felt always unpredictable which was really nice!. I think the main issue with the Disney worlds is that the vast majority of the time they follow the plots of the movies they are based off of instead of coming up with something new with them. Whether you're talking about Aladdin, Beauty and the Beast, Cinderella, whatever, there's plenty of potential there for original stories to be told with the same characters and world that have nothing to do with the plots of the movies. That, and the Disney worlds have become pretty irrelevant to the story of the games, they're more like filler or a diversion to stretch out the length of the game rather than something of significance to the actual plot of any particular game or even the sagas as a whole. Make original stories out of them and tie what goes on to the overall plot of the game significantly and it would do a lot to improve how fun the Disney worlds are. XTREEMMAK 51 Posted January 16, 2018 Agreed with the criticism for less Disney worlds, This is a co-op property between Square AND Disney who in large is responsible for the majority of Kingdom Heart's success. It would behoove them to inject even MORE Disney worlds and properties into the mix while intermingling original Square properties as a parallel marketing approach. Associate Final Fantasy characters to the same scope and quality level as Disney characters? Hell yeah! That's a win in my book. Though I will agree with you the injecting more original worlds in between would be a nice trade off as well; a Chrono Trigger based world, a Final Fantasy VII/VIII based world, etc. I would also add that taking more chances with other lesser known Disney properties would be a nice mix; probably not as an entire world, but mixed in some way creatively (looking at you Rescuers Down Under and Robin Hood). 1 Connected reacted to this
The Transcendent Key 12,109 Posted January 16, 2018 Well, when it comes to moving forward with the franchise, my hope is that Nomura will take new risks regarding the story! Since Kingdom Hearts III will be the last entry of the Xehanort Saga, I'm hopeful that the next saga goes in new directions! A slightly darker approach would be great, not that the series isn't dark now, because it is, but a tad more of a darker tone would be welcome! I also want to see how character development and overall storytelling improves in the franchise! I'm getting the inkling feeling that the next saga will deal with a new generation of Keyblade Wielders searching for Sora, who's gone missing, kind of like how the whole galaxy is looking for Luke Skywalker in Star Wars: The Force Awakens! By going with this approach, Sora would still have importance and a main character role, but at the same time, we could give attention to a new cast, whilst having all the characters we know and love be important and add support as well! Oh, and the Master Of Masters needs to be the villain! Or a villain obsessed with the light! 1 Connected reacted to this
Smithee 327 Posted January 16, 2018 Less railroading. E.g., don't make the good guys hold the Idiot Ball for the umpteenth time; it just makes the bad guys look lucky instead of legitimate. 1 Connected reacted to this
