Connected 978 Posted November 15, 2017 As we know, Sora has the Kingdom Key which is tied to the Realm of Light.Mickey has the Kingdom Key D(ark side) which is tied to the Realm of Darkness. These keyblades are being used to protect the secret and (Un)lock of their Realms. As we know there is another Realm. The Realm in Between. The world that are in the Realm in between are:- Traverse Town- Land of Departure/Castle Oblivion- Twilight Town- The Mysterious Tower- The World That Never Was.So in order to protect these worlds it would make sense for a Thrid Kingdom Key.You might ask yourself. Who will get this Keyblade? And the answer is pretty obviously. It’s Roxas! As we know Sora is going to bring back Roxas, and we’ve also learned in Dream Drop Distance that Roxas is (Or already has) creating his own heart. But that made me question about HIS Kingdom Key.As we know, Roxas gets the Kingdom Key because he is the Nobody of Sora and only that is why Roxas has the Power of the Keyblade. Ofcourse Roxas has the strenght to Wield a keyblade by his own. With losing the strenght of Sora to wield the keyblade, creates an opportunity for a new Kingdom Key. The Kingdom Key I(nbetween)In my head it makes so much sense since one of the World that ARE in the Realm in Between is Twilight Town. The Home town of Roxas. Who else could be the protector of his world. it may be far-fetched. But I would definitely would like to see this in Kingdom Hearts 3. I would love to hear you thoughts about this theory. 4 DarylTrect, The Transcendent Key, BrettBix and 1 other reacted to this
Axtwyt 500 Posted November 15, 2017 I feel that any other Kingdom Keys past Sora's and Mickey's don't exist/will not be brought up in the current canon. Also, I think Nomura confirmed that Sora and Roxas wielded the same Kingdom Key.
Eternalsleep 175 Posted November 15, 2017 That’s a great theory & it makes sense that there should be another version of the kingdom key. My only thing is why would roxas get it instead of ventus? Ventus has been around since the x days & he was the reason for why sora can use a keyblade in the first place

Ok 2 things: First, ventus joining his heart with ventus in the first place was the reason why sora was able to use the keyblade at first, however sora’s own heart was the reason why he was able to take the keyblade back from riku. Second ventus having a keyblade already means absolutely nothing. Mickey also had his own keyblade but he can use the Kingdom Key D perfectly fine. 1 Movies798 reacted to this
Headphone Jack 1,147 Posted November 16, 2017 i always thought it would make sense to introduce a Keyblade based on the Realm of Nothing but i guess the more i think about it the more i feel its unnecessary. and if anything i would think Riku would wield a third important keyblade. KH2's ending really gives the impression that Sora, Mickey and Riku are the three main Keyblade wielders and giving Riku the keyblade that represents a mix of Light and Dark would be fitting. the three of them would have keys that land on the different parts of the Light to Darkness spectrum. thematically though, Mickey's doesn't make sense because he isn't a character that belongs to the darkness. he just grabbed the key to use so idk
Elfdemon_ 695 Posted November 16, 2017 (edited) There is no "Keyblade of the Realm of Light" and there is no "Keyblade of the Realm of Darkness." There's just Keyblades of Light, Keyblades of Darkness, and a Keyblade of Heart. Keyblades of Light are Keyblades forged in the Realm of Light, Keyblades of Darkness are Keyblades forged in the Realm of Darkness when a world falls to darkness that a Keyblade of Light was obtained at, and the Keyblade of Heart is the Keyblade created from the Princesses of Heart's hearts. As far as we know, Kingdom Key and Kingdom Key D are not special in any way. Kingdom Key is just a Keyblade from the Realm of Light (a Keyblade of Light) and Kingdom Key D is just a Keyblade from the Realm of Darkness (a Keyblade of Darkness). All you need in order to seal the Door to Darkness is a Keyblade of Light and a Keyblade of Darkness. You didn't specifically need Kingdom Key and Kingdom Key D. Kingdom Key and Kingdom Key D worked because they are a Keyblade of Light and a Keyblade of Darkness. Any Keyblade of Light and Keyblade of Darkness would've worked. Ventus has nothing to do with Sora being able to wield a Keyblade. In order to get a Keyblade, you need to be Bequeathed (have the Keyblade inheritance ceremony performed on you). Being Bequeathed causes a Keyblade to choose you. The person Bequeathing someone needs to be a Keyblade Master or someone on the level of a Keyblade Master, and the person being Bequeathed needs to have a strong heart. All you need to wield a Keyblade is a strong heart. In order to obtain a Keyblade though, you need to be Bequeathed. Terra Bequeathed Riku in Birth by Sleep. So, as stated above, that caused a Keyblade to choose Riku. That Keyblade was Kingdom Key. In KH1, during the storm on Destiny Islands, Sora unknowingly touched Riku's heart. During that moment, Kingdom Key saw Sora's heart as stronger than Riku's since Riku was falling to darkness and chose Sora instead and jumped over to him. Sora is able to wield it because he has a strong heart. So, Sora receiving a Keyblade is a rare and unique case since he wasn't Bequeathed. He happened to be at the right place at the right time and happened to have a strong enough heart. Later, at Hollow Bastion, Riku took back Kingdom Key because it was still technically his/he showed that his heart was stronger than Sora's during that moment. But, after Sora gave his iconic speech, Kingdom Key chose Sora again since Sora proved his heart was stronger than Riku's, and this time, it was permanent. Ventus' heart being within Sora is what allows Sora to dual-wield. The Keyblade that Sora dual-wields is Ventus' Keyblade, Wayward Wind. It just has a different Keychain on it. Ventus had nothing to do with Sora wielding a Keyblade in the first place though. Sora, and anyone who can wield a Keyblade, are simply able to wield a Keyblade because they have a strong heart. Sora's connection with Ventus has nothing to do with it. And the Keyblade Sora obtained was Riku's, not Ventus'. Ventus_ 396 Posted November 16, 2017 Ventus IS NOT the reason Sora can weild a Keyblade, Sora's own streanght of Heart is the reason he can weild one... Sora's Kingdom Key was originally Riku's. He intercepted it when he touched the light that became buried in Riku's heart after Riku accepted the darkness by opening the door in Secret Place thus unleashing the heartless onto Destiny Islands. Sora, however, was born with the purest of hearts and thus with the power to wield. This is illustrated when eventually, the Kingdom Key chose him over Riku and hell, even when he was born and his heart reached out and mended Ventus's. Ventus's heart merely added the ability to double wield. 1 Connected reacted to this
HarLea Quinn 26,501 Posted November 17, 2017 Dropping these interviews off for funsies Xehanort Report 6There are three families of Keyblades: the Keyblades of light we wield, Keyblades of darkness, and Keyblades of heart. The first and second families differ only in origin; Keyblades of darkness are found in the realm of darkness, and are counterparts to the Keyblades we use in the realm of light. The third type of key, the Keyblade of heart, came into existence when the World was reorganized after the Keyblade War. Without this key, Kingdom Hearts is forever beyond a person’s reach. Only by gathering together seven hearts of pure light—hearts completely devoid of darkness—may one forge a Keyblade of heart and open the door to Kingdom Hearts. And, as stated before, opening this door arguably gives that person control over all worlds and all people. – Directors report About the Keyblades V - There is still a lot of mystery about the Keyblades I think. The "Light side, heart of worlds Keyblade" that Sora wields, the "Keyblade of people's hearts" made from the Seven Princesses' hearts for Riku, and the "Dark side, heart of worlds Keyblade" that the king obtained in the realm of darkness, presently these 3 types can be confirmed. Could you please explain things a little further? Keyblades have 2 different constitutions, either from the Light side or the Dark side. This is merely the exterior key, the inner key can act from either side and its abilities won't change. There is no clear division between good and evil. Usually the door to each world is closed and the keyhole itself is not visible. By bringing a Keyblade nearby, the Keyhole appears. But the lock is not actually closed itself. Indeed, the Heartless were able to find the door and easily open it and in this way steal hearts. In the previous game, Sora turned the locks and closed these doors. Furthermore, about the opened door of the integrated heart of worlds "Kingdom Hearts" itself, to prevent the outflow of the darkness within hearts the intent and reasons were different so the Keyblade was used for a different purpose. In order to work, the door needs to be closed from both the Dark side and the Light side and both a dark and light realm Keyblade are needed. The King needed a Keyblade opposite from the realm of light Keyblade that Sora had, so he went to the realm of darkness to obtain one. The Keyblade constructed from the Seven Princesses' hearts that Riku obtained in the previous game allowed for the Keyhole in Hollow Bastion to appear. For the plan to cause darkness to overflow from hearts, the special hearts held by the Princesses were used to artificially make this Keyblade. So it is different from a proper Keyblade. There are further suggestions that this Keyblade is artificial as well. VI - Could you please give an explanation for the new Keyblade "Way to the Dawn" that Riku obtained and the Keyblade Kairi has as well as what the conditions for using a Keyblade are? There isn't necessarily one Keyblade for the dark side and one for the light side, just as many as there exist people with qualified hearts. Concerning the conditions to wield one, at this stage, "Those with strong hearts" is the only obvious one. However, less obvious conditions still exist and there are still plans for an opportunity to reveal those. Riku's "Way to the Dawn" and Kairi's Keyblade are naturally the same type of Keyblade as Sora's. However there is no particular explanation for the Soul Eater's transfer and occurrence, as well as Riku's handing it to Kairi. When there isn't a normal process of acquisition, I think its OK to think there is some deeper meaning there. Ultimania KH1 Even though Riku was the rightful owner of the Keyblade, then why did Sora obtain the Keyblade in the beginning? Nomura: Even though I would like to keep that obscure, there is a scene in Destiny islands where Riku is being swallowed by darkness, a light appears, and Sora first obtains the keyblade. With the setting I created, the darkness that surrounds them is Riku’s heart’s darkness. At that moment, Sora enters the darkness, and the light he sees inside is Riku’s heart’s light. Sora, who was squirming in the darkness to save Riku, touched the light and temporarily obtained the Keyblade from Riku.---Does not the Keyblade itself choose its owner?Nomura: The Keyblade reacts to the rightful owner’s heart and appears to them. Even though it was definitely Riku who called the Keyblade towards him, the reason why Sora was able to weild it was because he also had the right qualities too. BBS Ultimania In Aqua’s chapter, on Destiny Islands, was Aqua originally intending to perform the Bequeathing for Sora or Riku?Yes. When Aqua met Sora and Riku, she was on the point of realizing that she may end up having to fight Terra. At that time, she was going to perform the Bequeathing for Sora, but realized that Terra had already performed it for Riku. Not wanting Sora and Riku to end up fighting like her and Terra are in the future, she didn’t perform the rite for Sora. This is the meaning behind her murmurs that “One Keyblade is enough for any friendship” and that she “wouldn’t wish their lives on those hildren.” When she tells Sora he must save Riku if he ends up walking the wrong path, she’s projecting her own thoughts onto Sora. This time we saw the “Bequeathing”. Is that a required condition for becoming a Keyblade user? That’s essentially correct. In terms of the Bequeathing itself, the successee just has to make the successor grasp their Keyblade–if this rite is performed by a Keyblade Master, and if they have suitable power, the Keyblade could choose that person as a Keyblade user, and appear before them. Terra, Ventus; all have passed this rite. Sora is the only exception. So, it’s not that “once Sora’s story is over the story of a new hero will begin”, but that the series will always have Sora as the hero, isn’t it?Yeah. One of the concepts of the series is that the hero Sora isn’t some special being, but a normal boy. Sure, his heart is connected to Ventus and the others, but other than that, he’s a normal kid that could have come from anywhere, that hasn’t inherited anything from anyone. I want to make Sora a character that will give the player the feeling that “even if I’m not some special being, I have the possibility buried inside of connecting with many others to accomplish things”. In Birth by Sleep, I wish for all the fans to hope to see that Sora reappears. The secret cutscene is what symbolizes this, and so please work your way there, and wait for Sora’s role in the future. 3 Connected, Elfdemon_ and WakelessDream reacted to this

Sora wasn't born with "the purest of hearts", he still has darkness in his Heart, just like every other normal person, only the PoH have Hearts of pure light, and he wasn't born with the power to wield a Keyblade, the KK needed a safe haven when Riku accepted the darkness and Sora was the closest thing around at the time, the reason the KK ultimatley chose him over Riku was because of how easy Sora is willing to open his Heart to others and in turn use their power for himself, thus having a strong Heart to wield it... The Transcendent Key 12,109 Posted December 1, 2017 Actually, this isn't as far-fetched as you'd think! HMK actually discussed this a few years ago, and it'd definitely make sense for Roxas to be able to wield a Kingdom Key I. It would make perfect sense, as there would be the trio of Kingdom Keys that encompass the aspects of the world at large, which are light, darkness and twilight! So yes, I agree that Roxas should get a Kingdom Key I! 1 Connected reacted to this
