Well... I only played 2.8 out of these games so... yeah, my GOTY is 2.8 (0.2 for the win!)

While I greatly enjoyed games such as Yakuza 0 and Kingdom Hearts 2.8, as well as some other titles from my never-ending backlog... My GOTY is without a doubt NieR: Automata. 

 

I enjoyed the first NieR a lot (despite its shortcomings), but Automata is truly phenomenal. I'm really happy it sold as well as it did and that people gave the series a try.

Breath of the Wild! Ngl the game has its flaws but I can't say how much I enjoyed playing it and exploring everything. Defo one of my fave Zelda games.

 

Second place would be Super Mario Odyssey.

The only one on the list I've played is KH 2.8 but I hardly think that qualifies as game of the year material.

 

Haven't had time to play the others I'm interested in, but I would personally root for Zelda Breath of the Wild, just from what I've seen of it.

I mean...Persona 5 is clearly better...But I had so much fun with Horizon!!! Ugh, this is KILLING ME!

I chose KH 2.8. I'm REALLY hoping I'll get Horizon Zero Dawn for Christmas. I've been watching playthrough videos of it and the game looks beautiful!

Best game of the year would be Kingdom Hearts III: Ground Zer--ahem, I mean, 2.8! Just the fact that we got a juicy little "demo" of Kingdom Hearts III made 2.8 worthwhile!

Persona 5 was a little disappointing so i'm going to have to go with Resident Evil 7. that game felt like a classic RE game in so many ways and i loved it.

 

my GOTY could change though because i'll be playing Gravity Rush 2 and The Evil Within 2 soon. both are games i'm expecting great things from so here's hoping they deliver.

Persona 5 with its epic 100 hour campaign! One of the best JRPG's ever made with unique anime style graphics, solid gameplay and a compelling story. Zelda is an extremely close second for me with how unbelievably big the world is.

I'm divided, but it has to be Horizon Zero Dawn for me. It was an absolutely beautiful game, with new concepts and story and ideas in an era of sequels. It was fun, challenging and refreshing. I found myself pausing the game into the camera mode constantly just to be able to look at the machines and zoom in on them and watch them. It's a hard competition with all of these games, but HZD definitely won my vote.

This year was a tough one, between kingdom hears remixes, yakuza 0, breath of the wild, nier, horizon, persona 5, mario odyssey, cuphead, pokemon ultra s/m, danganronpa V3; after playing all of them i can say that my pick is Nier Automata for its crushing story and really really fun and addictive gameplay

NieR: Automata without a doubt is my GOTY. Absolutely phenomenal game through and through. My love for it is up there with my love for the KH franchise tbh.

The funny thing about me and cuphead is that I started to watch the Disney classic DVD collection of silly simpsonys and Mickey and friends. Believe me It becomes atleast 20 times more fun to play it after that
