Sorage55 10 Posted October 16, 2010 Hello mates, this is Sorage55 here to say that tomorrow, I will be going to my first school dance. Mother is enforcing me to do so. If you know me well, then you'd know i'm nervous and shy as Hell. I don't even know how to dance! T.T (Well i can waltz, but thats all I remember from ballroom dance lessons at school after the major surgery that summer vacation) Also, it is told that I have to wear a tie, I guess, which sucks cause idk how to put one on. Plus, the girl i like, that I know likes me too but is too nervous for anything (like me), has also decided to go to the dance. Heh, we both can't dance, so this'll be awkward. What do I do, mates? Help.
roxaskeybladeart55 72 Posted October 16, 2010 Umm, you could take lessons, or just sit around the punch bowl, just as long as you have fun thats all that matters.
Sorage55 10 Posted October 16, 2010 I suppose. Oh plus I have to SHAVE. Which is ok I guess, mah beard's gettin' itchy anyways.

MasterXemnas 2,285 Posted October 16, 2010 get some friends that are worse at dancing than you and dance near them. You'll look good compared to them.
Eterna 274 Posted October 16, 2010 Just don't go? My parents forced me to go so I just showed up and bailed on it 5 minutes later.
Antrium 10 Posted October 16, 2010 Dancing: Holding each other close together, gently swaying from left and right, inhaling the sweet scent of her perfume and her head on your chest... in other words just talk to her and when the slow dance comes on juts do the previously stated. Liraxus 4 Posted October 16, 2010 I don't firetrucking understand why your scared. Heres something. WOMEN ARE SWEET They don't care if you can dance or not, just have a good time, its not like she's your girlfriend.
Giginha 22 Posted October 16, 2010 You guys make such a fuss over something so small. Observe the others dancing for some minutes and them do the same, is it so difficult? If you're that nervous ask somebody you know how to do some steps and get it done. It's not important to know how to dance anyway, a party isn't made just of dancing you know, you don't have to stay all time anyway.
roxaskeybladeart55 72 Posted October 16, 2010 But remember to have fun with it.
Amon 4,279 Posted October 16, 2010 This is what all American school dances are... 1. No dancing, basically crowd around the dance floor and listen to really bad music. 2. The guys will drink soda and act like they are drinking beer, I kid you not. 3. The girls will huddle around the middle of the dancefloor and talk about random stuff, then desperate guys will start swarming trying to get their attention, that is usually how the dancefloor gets extremely crowded, I kid you not. 4. If food is served, its going to be crappy. 5. Nerds, such as myself will be shunned upon entering the dance area so simply hang back and be with your friends who were unfortunate enough to be there. Now here is how to have fun at these crappy dances. 1. They will usually last 1.5 hours to 3 hours so make sure you aren't tired. 2. Disregard the dress code entirely, if it's formal they may not let you in so you have to watch out for that, but if it is something like "Beach party" then show up in a heavy winter coat, snowpants, and boots. Massive lulz can be generated if you play it cool. 3. Due to the crowded area of the dancefloor it is very easy to do certain things, try dropping chewed gun on the dancefloor and listen to people scream upon stepping on it, or drop some money in the middle and watch people fight to the death over it. 4. Shake up some sodas and show those Jocks that they aren't drinking beer. Just remember these things and you will survive, trust me, I've been forced to go to three of these pathetic gatherings before. WOMEN ARE SWEET Excuse me but what world do you live in? Think Pink 1,967 Posted October 16, 2010 There's no real way to dance, haha. Just do whatever feels right. (: Follow what everyone else seems to be doing if you can't do that. I've been to a ton of school dances, and I'm not even in high school yet. It's best if you go with a group of friends, if you're worried about not having a date. Sorage55 10 Posted October 16, 2010 I've been told the way children dance these days is like sex, but public and with clothes on. -.-' the nuisance of it all have they no shame? Anyways, I shall thank ye all for your advice, I will be as cool a nerd as I can, and hang around with my other nerds next to a wall or something. With my church-like shirt, red tie, black pants, and black shoes, I will blend with the others, hopefully.
Giginha 22 Posted October 16, 2010 So the dances over there are like the ones here in Brazil? I know how they are, if so, I won't encourage you to dance anymore. -.-'
Sorage55 10 Posted October 16, 2010 Apparently i'm told (and it was even amusing to them for saying) that there wouldn't be any dancing in the dance. which is ironic, and strange indeed. But I suppose its only an option.
