Ansem The Wise in KHIII

I've been thinking a lot lately about the part of Ansem the Wise in Kingdom Hearts III. Since we know he is with Aqua in The Realm of Darkness. 

It's most likely that Mickey and Riku will find Ansem together with Aqua.

But after that? At this point It's kind of a weird situation since his main purpose is to take revenge on Xehanort (Terranort) but since he has returned (?) to his 'regular' form, Master Xehanort will he take his revenge on Master Xehanort by helping Sora and Riku defeating him?

I kinda like to see him team up with Riku for a while after he rescued Aqua and Ansem.

He could also just return to his home town Radiant Garden like he always wanted. Maybe even join the Hollow Bastion Restoration Committee.

Thoughts?

 

EDIT: I just realized that Ansem the Wise is the only Original Character of KH that doesn't have a weapon. Should that change?

I could see the possibility of Ansem the Wise coming back. For some reason, I just feel uncertain about his return to the Realm of Light.

Good question, it may be possible but also I wonder if King Mickey and Riku's preparations are Keyblade Wielder specific.

i could see him providing a more passive support role like Yen Sid and just dumping exposition when needed. im sure they could write some plot point that occurred back when the original Organization was formed that Ansem could bring up. 

 

personally i don't think he should be given a weapon. he never struck me as a fighter. more of a calm and collected sort of character.

As Ansem the Wise, his wisdom comes to be his true "weapon" in a way. About his return in KHIII I'm pretty sure it will happen although on a minor scale. He is in the RoD instead of being "dead" or something worse so I presume Nomura has something prepared for him but again something minor. I believe the best bet is to return to Radiant Garden and help everyone to fix things.

No, he shouldn't get a weapon in my opinion. Why would you get rid of something that makes a character unique?

 

Plus, he's older and slow-moving. I can't imagine him in combat.

Oh no no, no weapon for Ansem. He is not just too old, but he is not that kind of person to use a weapon like a Keyblade and such.

I think Ansem the Wise will definitely play a role in KHIII, but what that role is? I have no clue. He'll probably be saved and help restore Radiant Garden to its former glory. How he'll react to his recently revived/restored apprentices will also be interesting. Will he still hate them or will he forgive them? Whatever the case may be, Ansem's arc going forward will surely be interesting...or at least somewhat interesting.
