Shizuka

Watching until Ojex and Lucas had been carted away Shizuka turned and noticed Haguki asking her if she knew Ojex tilting her head in puzzlement to the question she gave a simple answer "No I can't say I do the first time I spoke to him is when he approached me out her on the track before we started our tests..." Biting her lip slightly Shizuka began to think of the few interactions she had with Ojex in the last hour "He reminds me of some of the little kids I use to baby sit before getting into UA always looking for a new way to tease the people around them" Shizuka gave a slight giggle "He acts just like a small child"

Ojex

Suddenly sitting up in the bed in the nurses office Ojex looks around the room in the bed next to him he see's Lucas still out cold from there fight and across the way he see's Lars in another bed. Looking over to Lucas once more Ojex gives a sigh "Who tries to knock someone out with a mallet in a practice fight" Reaching for the back of his head Ojex grabs a piece of metal and holds it in his hand it was a piece of iron armor that had been nearly completely smashed in "(If I hadn't forged this when I did he could of killed me)" Looking across the room to Lars, Ojex gave a content smirk "How's that heel of yours doing Achilles?!"

- Ezekiel -

"He's a big baby." Ezekiel commented as he walked by Shizuka as he went to his spot for his spar with Ryan.

Ezekiel had watched as everyone sparred with their designated opponent, and he could get a feel of their quirks, the water girl, Shizuka, was impressive, but uncontrolled and it could easily get her, and the ones around her hurt if she didn't take care of it.

Ezekiel cracked his knuckles as he looked at Ryan. "Don't regret those words later." Ezekiel spoke, as he formed a smirk on his face. He place one foot behind him as he entered his combat stance. In a split second, he quickly used psychic energy to launch himself, using his foot to release it, as he flew directly at Ryan, landing near him as he used the momemtum of the landing to spin into a roundhouse kick. Fueled by Psychic energy, not enough energy to kill, or to break anything, just to knock on Ryan a bit. Plus, it'd be more fun to see what he could do. However if Ryan did get hit, he'd have to brace for the blow, cuz it'd still pack a helluva punch.

This was all done in a spectacular flash of bright purple colors, his signature energy color.

"I didn't hit you that hard." Lucas said, stirring and sitting up. "Besides, you punched me with an iron gauntlet."

"Wasn't planning to." Ryan responded with a smirk. When Ezekiel launched himself, Ryan thought to himself, Dang, the same sound three time in a row. Oh well. Works for me.

Ryan jumped over Ezekiel's kick, pulling out a Kanji sound out of his ear the process. "Forecast calls for strong winds today!" He said as he threw it at his opponent.

Ezekiel frowned as Ryan was able to jump over his kick, he was surprised by Ryan's quirk, pulling out sound, speaking and throwing it at him, Ezekiel sidestepped the attack with a quick jump to the side, not letting up his offensive, Ezekiel quickly dashed at Ryan again, much faster this time, flying at him with a charged punch. aiming at his stomach.

The attack was enhanced by his power, much like his kick. His eyes sparking with energy every time he utilized his quirk.

Aw crap.

Ryan took the hit right into his stomach. His eyes widened as he was feeling that pain.  Ojime be heard making a gasp. "R-RYAN!!" She yelled in reaction. Ryan let his head down...

"I'm gonna be honest...This hurts like near hell..." But...He smirked. "But I can send hell back, in case you couldn't tell!" Ryan used his left hand and pulled out another Kanji sound. This time (AND FINALLY) it's meaning was "POW!". I really want to punch him back...But given my stance, I might as well chuck it. He threw it aiming at Ezekiel's face.

Ezekiel took a step back as he waited for Ryan to recompose himself after the punch, glancing at Ojime, who shouted Ryan's name in worry. As much as he did not like this, it was part of the activity.

"Whatever you throw at me, i'l punch right through!" Ezekiel spoke, raising his fist. Ryan soon threw the sound back at him, it came at extreme speeds, almost like it emulated the speed of the punch he had landed on Ryan before, this surprised Ezekiel. Ezekiel barely had time to raise his arms in defense, as the attack landed.

The impact was very strong, pushing Ezekiel back as he slid accross the floor of the stage while still standing, a blow that strong head on would've been almost fatal, thankfully he had managed to create a psychic barrier in time, the barrier was visible like a purple colored hologram-like shield in front of him. "I haven't gotten here without taking a few blows". He remarked.

The barrier soon dispelled as the energy was diverted into Ezekiel's arm. "Fine...Range it is!" Ezekiel smirked as his eyes flashed as an orb of pure psychic energy formed on his hand, as he threw it directly at Ryan, the orb was set to explode, non-lethaly on contact with anything, be it the environment around him or Ryan himself.

It was a crude projectile, he usualy made much more refined and difficult to track ones, but this was just a test, and he didn't want to show off his good moves just yet.

Ryan held his stomach as he breathed heavily. Now there are projectiles. Fantastic. I'm gonna have to dodge this one. Ryan jumped out the way of the orb, not knowing what it could do. He looks at Ezekiel with a smirk. "Yo' a real jack of all trades, aren't ya? Physical, defense, and range. But you know what they say: 'A jack of all trades is a master of none.' There's gotta be weakness, isn't there?" Ryan stated. "Stamina? Headache? A weird drawback? There's always a weakness to everybody's Quirk, including mine. Though I'm guessin' you already figured that out at this point."

"My quirk is adaptable." Ezekiel scoffed at Ryan's remarks about his usage of his quirk. "Though without it im not much different from the quirkless civilian." He added, which was quite true, without his quirk, he'd only have his martial arts, no enhanced durability, no strenght, nothing, just good old fisticuffs and no power to speak of. if he got caught with his quirk down it'd spell doom for him in any situation.

"All Quirks have a weakness. Its just a matter of finding it and exploiting it." Ezekiel spoke with a grin, "You pull out words from your ears and throw them back at the opponent, and since one of your earlier attacks seemed quite identical to one of mine in intensity, I'd wager its based around the impacts around you...or at you" Ezekiel made an educated guess as he brought a hand to his chin.

His psychic energy quickly flared around him, this time, the energy could be witnessed in an aura around him, a bright purple color as his eyes glew extremely bright, whenever he moved traces of energy followed them in the air. A quick show off of his quirk's physical appearance. "Lets see how much more you can take!" Ezekiel spoke with a grin, before dashing with a large burst of energy, letting out a shockwave from the air as well as a very loud blast as he dashed towards Ryan again.

Charging a punch and swinging it Ryan's way, he knew the boy would dodge, since he was having an easy time doing so, Ezekiel followed the punch with a reverse roundhouse kick, which released psychic energy from the momentum, sending it in a  large shockwave in a cone in front of him. He was going to end this spar, with either him or Ryan on the ground, or he'd break the stage trying. This put quite the strain on Ezekiel's brain after all, and he wouldn't be able to maintain this state for long without losing conciousness.

Looking over to see Ojex making a remark about how he'd been completely defeated by Shiki, referring to him as Achilles. Lars smiled almost genuinely and got out of his bed, stretching his arms a little.

"Well, I can honestly say I was surprised. Perhaps I was taking some of you for granted. This class really is full of the best candidates to become new heroes after all."

Lars put a hand to his chin as he began to think, a familiar stoic expression appearing on his face.

"I may be incorrect about this, but I believe Shiki did something to his body before we fought. When we were getting ready to fight, he pressed a finger to his chest and another to his temple. Perhaps this is some kind of setup to unleash that explosive power I got hit by. If that's the case, then to win next time I would need to restrain him immediately."

Lars was solely focus on analyzing his fight with Shiki that he'd almost completely forgot that he was making conversation. Turning back to Ojex, Lars held his hand up and clenched his fist in front of him.

"I may have been beaten today, so I won't deny that Shiki is strong and worthy of my respect, but this does not mean that I'm going to give up my spot as number one in this class room. I'm going to keep proving myself. I have to prove that my method of justice is not wrong."

Lars lowered his hand and sat back down on his bed.

"I mean, that's what being a hero means, right? If I can bring peace to the whole world using my power, wouldn't that be the best for everyone?"

Recovery girl came back into the room, looking over at everyone who was still around.

"Which of you would like to get treated first?"

Lars instantly looked the other way, making sure to not look interested and began whistling.

"Not me~... I'm totally fine~..."

As the fight between Ryan and Ezekiel played out, Shiki walked back toward the crowd of bystanders with his usual stoic expression. He had a few small bandages on his face and his right arm was completely wrapped up, but he didn't seem to show any sense of pain. Turning to Haguki, Shiki poked her in the shoulder to get her attention.

"Hey, could you let me know how the fights went down while I was gone? I'd like to get as much information as possible about you and the other members of the class. Also, don't worry about my arm. It looks bad, but it was mostly healed by recovery girl. She couldn't do a full job because my Quirk made it hard to heal properly. Being a corpse is a real pain..."

"That's your biggest problem. You're too full of yourself, and rely too much on your quirk. If you think you're the best, then you won't improve yourself, then everyone else who are improving, will pass you quickly. You're too egotistical that you can't accept the fact that you are not the best. And it is a very unhero like quality. Instead of thinking bad of him for beating you and trying to find some way to beat him, be happy for your fellow classmate that he's so strong, even though he hurt himself to beat you. Heroes don't go around looking for fights or chances to show off their quirks, that's what villains do. As they say, Pride cometh before the fall."

Haguki turned to Shiki, her mouth full of candy as she watched the fights. Where did she even get those? "Oh! You're back already." Haguki said as she suckled on some hard candy. "Well, Quirks are both a gift and a curse. Which means, that if you're already dead, then maybe you can't die! That would be weird. Wouldn't it? Die-ception or something like that. Then, if a Zombie apocalypse happens, which side would you be? Would the zombies ignore you? Hey, if you're like a zombie, do you have a craving for human flesh?" Haguki said as she turned back to the fighting arena. "Oh, right, the fights! Shizuka and I fought. I won. Ojex and Lucas went next and they both K.O'd each other! Right now it's Ryan versus Ezekiel! It's a close fight, too. Candy?" Haguki said as she offered candy from a plastic bag. It was travel size, and it was filled with all kinds of candies, mostly sweet and sour hard candy and gushers. "You really did a number on Lars, you know? Though he deserved it. He was being such a meany! I'd figure that someone taking a hero course would at least be a bit nicer."

Lars scratched his cheek as Lucas berated him about the selfish attitude he'd portrayed earlier and about his opinions of Lars' possibility.

"Pride? Hmmm... I don't think that's really it. It's more like determination."

Lars leaned back and stared at the roof, his eyes glistening as he imagined what he could accomplish.

"I'm not going to try to be the best because of some stupid reason like pride. I know that everyone has their own reasons for wanting to become a hero, but that means that I just have to prove that my desire to be a hero is greater than anyone else's. To be the best, I'll work twice, no... Three times harder than the rest of you. I want to change this world for the better and the only way to do that is to become the greatest of all heroes. One to surpass All Might himself in terms of greatness."

Lars looked back down at Lucas with a mischievous grin, his seemingly shining eyes were now much more clear.

"So what I mean when I say that I'm the best, is that I'm issuing you and the others in the class a challenge. I have no intention of letting myself fall behind to any of you, so I want to see which of you can challenge me for the top spot in class. If you think you've got what it takes then bring it."

Recovery Girl then stepped in front of Lars with narrow eyes, causing the black haired student to lean back away from her.

"What exactly are you doing here boy? I was told you were knocked unconscious in under a second? But you're not injured at all."

Lars looked away and whistled to himself. With a sigh, Recovery Girl soon began treating Ojex's and Lucas' wounds.

"Now that all three of you are in a good condition, you'd better not go wrecking those bodies of yours. I can't heal like I used to."

Lars yawned a little, looking across to the pair who'd been healed.

"Well, shall we go and see how the fights are progressing? They should be almost done by now."

Shiki took a few sweets from the bag and ate them slowly, one by one.

"I get the feeling that Lars didn't take me seriously... If he'd bound me in place at the start, I wouldn't have been able to do anything. As for me, even I can die if my brain is destroyed and I don't think me biting others would turn them into zombies. As for cravings of human flesh... Probably best we don't talk about that, but you don't have to worry. I won't go eating people."

Shiki grew silent, watching the match as it continued.

"I have no interest in becoming the top hero, nor do I want to be famous. All I care about is getting stronger so I can better help and protect people, which is all a real hero should care about. Too many heroes today only care about fame and money and being the best, I'm going to show that none of that really matters, just saving people." he said, getting up and walking out.

(Think if it as kinda like Stain's mentality and ideology, just without the murderous rampage of those he deems unworthy.)

Ryan's smirk didn't break. In fact, he was becoming more excited and was getting more and more into the fight. "Finally going all out, eh? Alright then! Bring it on!" Ryan stated out loud.

"Be careful Ryan!" Ojime shouted from the crowd.

BOOM! DOOM!

Two sounds...And one of 'em's over my noise limit, but enough to at least knock him out... Just as Ezekiel predicted, Ryan dodged his punch, though he felt the immense energy Ezekiel was letting out. At this point, I've got no choice! Ryan reached in his left ear...And pulled out a Kanji sound effect that meant "DOOM!" Not actual doom, that's just how it sounded...However...

RIIIIIIIIIIIING

"GAH!"

Ryan held his left ear with his right hand with grimace on his face, though it wouldn't do much. He was hearing a painful ringing in his ears. Despite this, he could see his opponent doing a reverse roundhouse kick. The ringing put him at a slight disadvantage with trajectory, but he knew where he was aiming. "Take this Psycho!" Ryan hit the Kanji against Ezekiel's kick! The painful ringing still continued. Given these two strong forces going against each other, it would cause a big shockwave that would push both Ryan and Ezekiel away from each other. Ryan tumbled across the stage, stopping by the edge of it. No doubt that shockwave was painful. The ringing at this point stopped. The mouse eared boy slowly raised his head. "You know...When I become a hero...I'm gonna be hella well known for last ditch risks." He said, attempting to stand up.

Ezekiel noted that Ryan's sudden painful reaction to the sounds he made, this surprised him for a second, but he realized that what he thought of before was correct, Ryan did have a weakness to loud noises, or at least multiple ones.

As he did his kick Ryan countered with the sound word causing a massive shockwave that knocked both of them back, Ryan got knocked to the edge of the stage, while Ezekiel got flung towards the opposite edge, he was sent flying, and barely managed to recover mid air and flip himslef around as he fell on his feet. Thankfully not much damage was done to him. He clutched his head for a bit, it was starting to hurt, this meant he'd need to wrap this up soon. Thankfully it didn't seem like Ryan was up for more fighting either.

"Nice counter" Ezekiel complimented Ryan, with a flat tone. "You should probably keep away from said risks, if you want a long career that is." Ezekiel added a bit of sarcasm into it. As he got himself up fully.  As he walked over to Ryan, dispelling his power for now. Offering Ryan his hand to help the boy up.

"I think we should call the spar off here. Neither of us can really keep going for much longer." He added. Ready to call off the fight.

Ryan looked up at Ezekiel and grinned. "Heh. No promises." He said grabbing Ezekiel's hand, fully getting back up. "As much as I hate to admit it, you right. GG man. You're pretty skilled with your Quirk. Heh heh heh!"

"RYAN!!" Ojime screamed from the crowd, running towards Ryan. She quickly looked around him. "A-A-Are you okay? A-Any bones broken? Bleeding? Concussions?" She frantically asked. "Chill, Oji, chill, I'm a'right. Nothin' I couldn't handle. Just a few scratches and a few bruises. I'll be fine. Don't even need Recovery Girl." He said, trying to relieve Ojime. "O-Oh...O-Okay. You always scare me whenever you fight."

"Like I always say, this ain't my first rodeo. Speaking of fighting, your match with that Pyro guy is coming up, right?"

Oh. She completely forgot about...The fight...With...

"Oh. I...Completely...Forgot..." She kneels down, slowly becoming nervous again. "Life is cruel to me."

Ojex:

Holding his hand to his chin Ojex took note of something Lars had said to him in the nurse's office about Shiki "(He pushed his finger into his chest and temple before he made his move I wonder could Shiki be doing something like overriding his bodies limitations by bypassing his pressure points, for normal people I'd expect that to be near impossible but technically Shiki did say he's basically a zombie so something like that may just be possible for him, if I'm right about this that's certainly an interesting quirk that guys got)" Looking down to his own hand Ojex made a fist "(He may have given me an idea as to how to improve the use of my quirk)" Listening in on Lars and Lucas's conversation about what a Hero should be Ojex got up from his bed and began to leave the room.

Exiting the room with his face not visible to either Lars or Lucas, Ojex wore a dead serious look "(screw being a hero if it wasn't for the restriction on those damn hero licenses I wouldn't even be here)" Leaving the area Ojex headed back to the track to watch the rest of the fights taking place.

Shizuka:

Listening in slightly on the conversation between Shiki and Haguki, Shizuka could feel a slight shiver run up her back as the two mentioned the topic of Shiki eating human flesh. "(I'm sure Shiki's a really nice guy, but this conversation is a little to creepy for me)" Looking back to the end result of the fight between Ezekiel and Ryan, Shizuka couldn't help but be impressed by the skill both of her classmates showed while demonstrating the use of there quirks during the fight "At least unlike the last fight these two knew when to call things off instead of aiming for knock outs" "Owe is there something wrong with going for the knock out?" Shizuka instantly stiffened up to the voice hat rang in her ear "Isn't it rather rude to talk about someone who isn't even here to defend themselves" turning around quickly Shizuka found Ojex standing behind her as if on reflex Shizuka began to bow to Ojex to apologize for her comment a few moments ago "I'm sorry, I didn't mean to talk about you behind your back!" Giving off a sigh of annoyance Ojex gave Shizuka a light karate chop on the head "You don't need to apologize for everything you know I only met you a few hours ago as it is and already today I've seen you apologize more in a few hours then I probably have in my whole life might be best if you cut back on the apologizing a bit after a while the apologizing begins to lose all meaning"

All Might nodded to himself as the fight between Ryan and Ezekiel concluded. With the next fight between Ojime and Pyro to be scheduled, All Might lay his gaze across the students to find the fire wielding student nowhere in sight.

"... Due to Pyro not being here. Ojime wins by default."

With some final notes on all of the data gathered that day, All Might began forming a tier list for the class room. At this point, Lars and Lucas rejoined the class just in time to hear the final results from all of today's tests.

"Now then, all of you have performed remarkably for your first day and I am filled with hope that the future is in good hands. To show the results of how well you all did in comparison to each other in my own personal opinion."

All Might flipped over a page and turned his clipboard over so the entire class could see. The single sheet of paper showed a list of names by ranking, those who performed the best for that day. The order of names from top to bottom of the list was as follows; Haguki, Shiki, Lucas, Ezekiel, Ojex, Ryan, Lars, Shizuka and Ojime.

"Some of you may be concerned about where you are currently placed on the list, but all of you should simply see this as an opportunity to push forward and to prove yourselves in the future. It could be the tests we used today aren't the best way to judge your abilities, so be prepared for when a scenario comes around for where you can show what you are really made of."

Looking at his watch, All Might looked back at the main building.

"We will now be heading back to the class room so that I may give you all a run down of what your next year of school will be like while you attend U.A. After I finish my explanation, class will be dismissed and you will be free to leave."

(If anyone would like an explanation of their ranking and reasons for being placed as such, I will gladly tell you in detail in the discussion thread.)

Ojime sighed in relief that she didn't have to fight at all. For her, this was nothing but pure luck.

Ojime frowned a bit when she saw that she was in last place on the rankings. It didn't surprise her, but it just stung her a little. She faced Haguki with a nervous smile. "U-Um....C-C-Congratulations Ms. Haguki. O-On m-making it first place I mean..." She said with a slight blush. Ryan meanwhile shrugged. He gave a smile. "Heh. Not bad."

Haguki was surprised to have gotten first place on the overall score. She gasped in surprise, jumping into her feet and throwing her arms into the air with a cheerful. "Alright!" Haguki said, proud of herself as she smiled and looked down at Shiki. "I bet Lars is fuming now!" Haguki hummed, quickly wrapping up her bag of candy as Ojime walked up to her, congratulating her. Haguki rubbed the back of her head sheepishly as she smiled. "Thank you. You're too kind. Though, I'm sad that I didn't get to see you in fighting action, Ojime. But hey, this means that I have to pay attention next time and see what you're really made of." Haguki said, opening up her plastic bag of candy and offering some to Ojime. "Want some? I think we all earned something sweet while we head back to class." Haguki said. "(I can't believe we're on our way of becoming heroes...ah I'm so excited!)"

Ojex looked to the list All Might had prepared with a very interested look in his eyes "(Hum Lucas ranked higher then I personally thought he would after our fight but I'm exactly where I want to be right in the middle not to high and not to low. I did end up using my quirk in my fight with Lucas but considering are quirks have similar traits that was unavoidable but at least within that fight I didn't show off anything other then the armoring side of my ability they may still only see it as a defensive ability for now then again I did go kind of overboard with the javelin throw so maybe not I'll need to play things slightly smarter from here on out but seeing most of the others quirks during this test gave me some good info I should be able to prepare some counters to most of them in one way or another)" Looking at the list one last time memorizing the rank of everyone in the class Ojex moved away and Shizuka moved in to look at the list giving an immediate sigh Shizuka walked away from the list "(If Ohime had, had a chance to actually fight in a practice match she probably would of ranked higher then me to)" With a rather depressed look on her face Shizuka headed back to the classroom

Making his way back to the class room, All Might looked over at his class before taking another look around with a look of worry on his face. Shiki approached his teacher in order to determine the reason behind his odd expression.

"Sir... Is something wrong?"

All Might looked down at Shiki and smiled, trying not alarm his students.

"It's nothing young Shiki. You performed admirably on today's tests. You were close to being chosen as the top student, but the fact that your body was constantly accumulating damage ended up holding you back in the end. Perhaps during your time here at U.A. you will learn how to master that tremendous power without causing harm to yourself."

"Yes Sir... I'll try."

All Might then headed inside and left Shiki alone with his peers. It was clear that All Might had noticed something and Shiki narrowed his eyes as he looked around to try and find out what it was. Before he could get a good look, Shiki suddenly found an arm on his shoulder.

"I'm disappointed in you Shiki. I thought the person who beat me would have at least claimed the top spot. I guess your quirk really is no good in a drawn out fight."

Shiki looked over his shoulder, his eyes meeting Lars' once again. For all to see, there was a unique tension between the two. Shiki's expression would not change, but an atmosphere of hostility could be felt in his gaze. Lars smirked and pulled his hand back, shoving his hands in his pockets. Despite having already lost one fight to Shiki today and being placed among the lowest among the students in the class, Lars did not feel inferior to the second place student in the slightest.

"You wanna go again? I'm game if you are zombie boy. This time though, I won't let you beat me with a cheap shot."

Shiki sighed and looked away, heading back to the class room for All Might's final words before the day was over.

"I've nothing to prove by fighting you."

Lars stared, his face taking an extremely similar stoic expression to Shiki's, mimicking him essentially.

"Nothing to prove huh? By not fighting me, you are proving something. Something that not even you can deny."

Shiki sighed, not even bothering to turn around to reply.

"And that would be?"

"That you wouldn't be able to beat me a second time."

Shiki paused, not moving and not making any sound. After an awkward silence for the other students, Shiki then spoke up very clearly.

"The U.A. Sport Festival next month. When I fight you there, I'll make sure to remind you what your own words taste like."

Shiki headed inside and Lars could barely contain his excitement.

"I can't wait."
