Jingilator 922 Posted August 5, 2017 (edited) Here are a few things that I absolutely HATE when KH fans say, as exactly noted in the title.-"Roxas shouldn't come back, he's served his purpose. Same with Xion and Namine."Just because they've served their purpose doesn't mean there's no way for them to come back, otherwise it wouldn't have been hinted at. Besides, no character in KH is meant to SOLELY serve a purpose. That's like saying Riku shouldn't have gotten out of the Realm of Darkness prior to CoM because he's "served" his "purpose".-"Terra isn't a Guardian of Light. He was possessed by Xehanort."That was then, and this is now. Xehanort just IMPLIED that Terra isn't a Guardian. For all we know, Terra could have been almost slowly reviving himself in the Keyblade Graveyard between DDD and KH3, since Xehanort came back as his old man self somehow.-"There shouldn't be any live-action Disney worlds in KH3. Just look at Port Royal."Just like I said with Terra, that was then and this is now. I'm sure that if there a live-action in KH3, it would STUNNING.-"Riku shouldn't have been named Master. He gave into the darkness in KH1."....Do I really have to say the same thing over and over again? The people who say that have obviously either skipped Riku's redemption arc, or just don't care.-"I feel like Situation Commands are going to make the game too easy."You can LITERALLY choose not to use them! That way, you can have your little "challenge" for KH3.-"Why would Riku bring Kairi over to the tower if she's not a Guardian of Light?"THAT'S EXACTLY WHY HE BROUGHT HER THERE IN THE FIRST PLACE! Oh my God.-"Attraction Flow looks so childish. Get ready to not take KH3 seriously in the slightest."You people say that as if it'll affect the story in a big way, Christ.-"Why is Axel alive again?! That completely ruins his death to have magically come back again!"1. He's Lea now. 2. If someone's Heartless and Nobody are destroyed, they will be recompleted, and then return to the place where it happened.-"No Marvel or Star Wars. That will ruin KH."We already technically have Marvel, in the form of San Fransokyo. Plus, Star Wars shares the same themes as KH.-"I hope Hayden Panettiere comes back to voice Kairi in KH3, even though she has important family matters to deal with."Okay, I'm exaggerating, but really, people?-"We've been waiting over ten years for KH3! Why don't we have it!"5 years, actually. KH3 was still in conception over ten years ago.-"I'm not buying KH3 if Frozen is in it."Really? You're not going to buy KH3 over a world?-"Brother Bear is a bad Disney movie and its environment would be too similar to the Jungle Book."No, seriously. This was a comment I came across on Cynical's updated Top 10 Worlds for KH3. I get that not a lot of people may like it, and I'm okay with that. But Brother Bear's environment is literally NOTHNG like Jungle Book.-"If Agrabah comes back for KH3, I'm not buying it."There's still the King of Thieves storyline to use. Plus, Jasmine is ARLEADY a Princess of Heart, all seven of whom-mind you-play a VERY important role in the story.-"If Atlantica comes back for KH3, I'm not buying it.""F*CK THIS WORLD. F*CK THIS WORLD. IT'S SOOO POINTLESS, IT'S AN ANNOYANCE, TAKE IT FROM MEEEEEEEEEEEEE" -Cynical, from TheGamersJoint, 2015-"Keybalde Transformations are just there so you can defeat enemies as quickly as possible."Maybe so, but they're still one of the most fun and creative things Square has made.-"Why would a Studio Ghibli world be in Kingdom Hearts? It's not owned by Disney in any way."That doesn't mean Square and Disney can't collab with Ghibli. What do YOU guys hate when fans say? RikuFangirl2008 1,368 Posted August 5, 2017 (edited) -"Riku shouldn't have been named Master. He gave into the darkness in KH1." Me: "WHAT YOU SAY?!" *Jump up and clenches fist. Preparing to fight* The ones when they said they won't get the game because "if" Frozen and the other worlds you mentioned showing up. Especially Frozen. Hours before the new trailer was revealed, Kingdom Hearts Facebook page made a post regarding the new world. I type in my comment saying I hope it's Frozen being the new world, and if it isn't I'll be satisfied nonetheless, right? I caught A LOT of hades by jerks commenting back saying "No" and other negative stuff. Some folks agreed with my comment. And when the trailer was released, guess what happens next. Some folks rub it in my face that I was wrong. What mad triggered me the most is one of those palookas, posting a GIF of I guess calling me an idiot and some hand pointer prop that suppose to be pointing at me. About two days after, comments still pop up on my comment feed. I was over it and still was satisfied. And I get egged on about two days after the event. Some of them regarding playing CERTAIN titles to know and understand the situation at hand triggers me too. And it saddens me that they think POTC is the only live action to appear in KH. They forgot about TRON in Space Paranoids since they might not have played the non-numbered titles, to know that TRON Legacy is another live action to be in DDD. GoL-Semi 16 Posted August 5, 2017 (edited) -"Terra isn't a Guardian of Light. He was possessed by Xehanort." That was then, and this is now. Xehanort just IMPLIED that Terra isn't a Guardian. For all we know, Terra could have been almost slowly reviving himself in the Keyblade Graveyard between DDD and KH3, since Xehanort came back as his old man self somehow. it is pretty intriguing that old master Xenahort came back as himself so would that mean Terra has regained control of his body? We see him struggling for control of his body in 0.2BBS wich take place after KH1 so it is proof that his heartless and nobody (Ansem SoD/Xemnas) were already created and Ansem SoD could've been already defeated during this scene. Even after splitting himself into 2 beings Xehanort still had control of Terra but we do not see the outcome of their fight in 0.2BBS I feel like he's still under Xehanorts control because KH2 is taking place after these events and we face the Lingering Will. My point is also based the fact that only 6 of the 13 SoD were revealed and there's more potential GoL 1.Sora 2.Riku 3.Kairi 4.Mikey 5.Aqua 6.Ventus* 7.Lea 8.Roxas (assuming he comes back) (*unless Ventus is not a GoL then your theory would make lots of sense) I think it would be more suitable for Nomura to have Terra(nort) as one of the 13 darknesses but I do hope he comes back to the light he's probably one of my favorite character and if he doesn't then it would be epic if the Lingering Will came out of nowhere during the final conflict to save the day Edited August 5, 2017 by GoL-Semi
Smithee 327 Posted August 5, 2017 Sick of some people painting DIZ and Eraqus as actually worse than Xehanort. Especially since (1) DIZ and Eraqus actually have empathy at the end of the day, and (2) Xehanort's the one who drove them to vigilantism in the first place. 3 Alja, Dave and Jingilator reacted to this

Dave 5,715 Posted August 5, 2017 Gonna have to offer my two cents on some of these. Here are a few things that I absolutely HATE when KH fans say, as exactly noted in the title.-"Roxas shouldn't come back, he's served his purpose. Same with Xion and Namine."Just because they've served their purpose doesn't mean there's no way for them to come back, otherwise it wouldn't have been hinted at. Besides, no character in KH is meant to SOLELY serve a purpose. That's like saying Riku shouldn't have gotten out of the Realm of Darkness prior to CoM because he's "served" his "purpose". For me, it's a matter of writing what amounts to an effective tragedy that gives you a lot to feel and think about, only to then remove all tragic elements, and more or less saying all the introspection you might have had was pointless. The argument can be made that you can still have those feelings in your memory, and that within the context of the original story things are still pretty tragic for Roxas, but once the cat is out of the bag that things are going to be fine for him, it cheapens the emotional value of the game. There's no point in feeling sad if, well, there's no point in feeling sad. -"Riku shouldn't have been named Master. He gave into the darkness in KH1."....Do I really have to say the same thing over and over again? The people who say that have obviously either skipped Riku's redemption arc, or just don't care. I have a mixed bag of feelings on Riku becoming a Master. On the one hand, it is a good moment for his arc, going from the guy who was rejected by the keyblade for being a selfish megalomaniac to being a Master of it for going the distance to save his buddy. On the flip side, one of the main reasons Riku gets the title is for supposedly holding out against Darkness, by virtue of being "immune" to it, which he got by letting Ansem in, triggered by being a jealous twerp who hated that he wasn't the alpha male any more. So his immunity only comes from the fact that he was a rotten person, and is now being rewarded for that fact (every time he uses Dark Firaga, he's using powers he got by letting the Heartless eat Destiny Island). Coupled with that is the fact that Sora's failure is blamed on his "giving in," even though he was more or less kidnapped and did not give into Darkness by his own free will whatsoever, more or less giving the impression that Sora is being punished for not doing what Riku did in the first game. I don't necessarily dislike the idea of Riku becoming a Master, I just hate the context and reasoning surrounding it. 3 Mystics Apprentice, Sendou Aichi and Eternalsleep reacted to this

That's like saying Riku shouldn't have gotten out of the Realm of Darkness prior to CoM because he's "served" his "purpose". This is more of a gripe with this kind of thing in general, but whenever I hear someone say that "a character's story is done" or "served their purpose" or "the story is finished" or anything like that I hate it, because all it shows is a lack of imagination on the part of the one saying it. The fact that these people saying these sorts of things can't imagine how things could progress from there doesn't mean it can't. In fact, there is NO such thing as a character who can't develop further, no such thing as a story that can't be further expanded on. Only a character that dies has served their purpose, in a fictional universe where resurrection, ghosts, and undead are possible not even then. It doesn't cheapen what came before for it to continue either, unless the writers royally screw things up and make a really terrible story. In short, there's always room for more. -"There shouldn't be any live-action Disney worlds in KH3. Just look at Port Royal." What the!?! People seriously say that? Port Royal looks freaking amazing in Kingdom Hearts 2 and with the advances in technology since it would only look better now. -"No Marvel or Star Wars. That will ruin KH." Star Wars shares the same themes as KH, Though I doubt it'll actually be included in KH3, yeah, Star Wars would mesh extremely well with Kingdom Hearts both thematically and gameplaywise. If it does happen I don't think it'll occur until whatever the next Kingdom Hearts saga is, it's too soon after Disney's acquisition for it now. 1 Jingilator reacted to this
The Transcendent Key 12,109 Posted August 5, 2017 You're pretty much on point with all of these things that just make us want to roll our eyes, and one I would like to add is this one: "I played Kingdom Hearts I and II, so I'm caught up! The spin offs aren't canon or necessary to the story!"This is honestly one of the biggest triggers for me. And it's not like the non-numbered titles aren't obscure, because Nomura has always made it a point to express their importance, and he himself said that these games tie together into one big narrative, and it just makes the Xehanort Saga all the more impacting! But when some people don't see a roman numeral on a Kingdom Hearts game, they quickly think it's a spin-off! THEY ARE NOT SPIN-OFFS, THEY ARE NON-NUMBERED ENTRIES THAT ARE IMPORTANT TO THE STORY! It's like watching an anime! But yes, a good many of these same fans will be the ones complaining a lot when Kingdom Hearts III comes out. But at least a good 90% of the fanbase has played all the games, or so I'd like to believe. X3 1 Yuya Sakaki reacted to this

Master Eraqus 1,340 Posted August 8, 2017 (edited) -"Roxas shouldn't come back, he's served his purpose. Same with Xion and Namine." Just because they've served their purpose doesn't mean there's no way for them to come back, otherwise it wouldn't have been hinted at. Besides, no character in KH is meant to SOLELY serve a purpose. That's like saying Riku shouldn't have gotten out of the Realm of Darkness prior to CoM because he's "served" his "purpose". I agree 100% with this. I've said pretty much most of these words multiple times. I've stated before that I hate the 'rules' of storytelling. I don't care about character development, pacing, etc. I watch/play and enjoy. I don't treat characters as tools, I treat them as people with their wants and needs. I don't treat them as if they have to follow a certain script as if they have to do something cause otherwise bringing them back is pointless. That makes no sense to me. Roxas and the others need to be saved and return. I think exactly like Sora here; "Roxas, you're you. We're not the same. I wanted to tell you that, that you deserve as much as I do, to be your own person." Roxas, Namine and Xion deserve to be their own people. They've suffered, sacrificed and hurt and thus, deserve a second chance. They deserve this after everything they've been through. They're NOT TOOLS, they're people. I don't care if they don't do anything major in KH3. As long as they return and become their own people, I'll be satisfied. These are people, not some objects that are made to "serve their purpose." Like lollygagger19 and I have stated in the past, saying that they shouldn't return because they've "served their purpose" is like saying Riku shouldn't be saved from the Realm of Darkness in KH1 because he "served his purpose." That's just so dumb and stupid to me. Saying that just reminds me of DiZ in KH2 and he was an a**hole. "Then you should consider yourself a tool at best." While you could find their ends 'satisfying', finally having their second chance and becoming their own people would be WAY MORE satisfying to me. -"I feel like Situation Commands are going to make the game too easy." You can LITERALLY choose not to use them! That way, you can have your little "challenge" for KH3. While I understand the concern of people thinking that KH3 will be too easy with Situation Commands, I don't understand the hate for an OPTION. Just like in 0.2 and Drive Forms in KH2, you don't need to use them at all. They're an option and if you don't want to use them, you can simply not use them. It's not rocket science. If Situation Commands make KH3 easy, it wouldn't be new. Drive Forms in KH2 made everything easier in an already-mostly-easy game. I don't care if a game is easy or difficult. As long as I'm having fun, that's all that matters. I mean, isn't that the point of playing a game; to have fun? In KH2, you always use the same ground and air combos, with the exception of Drive Forms and the occasional square button use in combos. But in KH3, thanks to the Situation commands, we're allowed to easily change the combos and thus, having variation. But if you're happy with you're basic combos, that's fine. Just know that the Situation Commands are OPTIONAL. It's so weird to me when people complain about an option. I remember when I heard people complaining over a new Star Fox game with a game difficulty which allowed you to never be hit and this difficulty was optional. Like, what? Why complain about it when you can just completely ignore it? -"Attraction Flow looks so childish. Get ready to not take KH3 seriously in the slightest." You people say that as if it'll affect the story in a big way, Wait... Some people actually say this? -"Keybalde Transformations are just there so you can defeat enemies as quickly as possible." Maybe so, but they're still one of the most fun and creative things Square has made. If only there was a way you could just ignore them. Like making them an option or something. The only other thing I could add that I hate hearing is lately how fans are bashing on Square and pretty much ordering them to give them the release date... We've just been given the release year after all this time! How are you not satisfied enough?
