Axel9794 4 Posted August 1, 2017 So i was thinking about how much Nomura likes to tease things to do with the KH series, like when he teased the new leaders in Union Cross (with the ventus, Skuld and Ephemer in the Unchained X 1st Anniversary artwork), this made me think back to the series 15th anniversary back in march and how a lot of people felt underwhelmed with the art that released on the japanese twitter account. Could this be the artwork for the game? we now know that the game is coming next year so things like Artwork are going to have to be worked on before the release. But what do you guys think? Could this be the artwork that we'll be seeing for KHIII? 1 The Transcendent Key reacted to this
KH4Real 749 Posted August 1, 2017 Nah I don't think so. Nomura has stated that Sora will be in a different pose probably gliding. 2 PrinceNoctis and Kaweebo reacted to this
Headphone Jack 1,147 Posted August 1, 2017 i hope we get some cover art that isn't the main characters on a white backdrop like we've been getting. something more in line with KH1 or KH2's style would be cool. in fairness the HD Remix covers are also good, imo
KingdomHearts3 2,591 Posted August 1, 2017 No, but the deeper meanings of that piece you speak of bring forth many questions.
Master Eraqus 1,340 Posted August 1, 2017 I doubt that that's the artwork for KH3, or at least the box art. As Nomura, stated, there has been some symbolism with the box art of the HD Remasters with Sora's pose as well as the sky. Since Sora was sitting for the 1.5 box art, standing for 2.5 and walking for 2.8, it would make sense for Sora to be running for KH3's box art.
BlankShell 638 Posted August 1, 2017 Fun fact: there's a fox sitting in Sora's lap. Anyway, I doubt it. Even if they've decided on the general design, Nomura usually doesn't have the finalized artwork until later in the process.
Alja 61 Posted August 1, 2017 I don't think it's the artwork either, it's most likely only meant to mirror the art of KH1 Sora sitting as well as Noctis sitting. Also, the others already pointed out that Nomura plans on giving the artwork a deeper connection as he already did with 1.5, 2.5 and 2.8, so we're definitely going to see Sora in some sort of further movement, either running or jumping/flying/gliding, something like that. And as all the artworks before have shown several people on the cover, I'm pretty sure we're going to see at least the second playable character, but I expect see all possible Guardians of Light on the cover, so likely the Destiny Trio, the Wayfinder Trio, Mickey and Lea. Probably some (or several) incarnations of Xehanort somewhere, too, if we're going by the 1.5/2.5 artworks. If they get back to the 1/2 vibes, probably only our protagonists. However, I really wish Nomura would finally reveal the entirety of this artwork I'm dying to know what he blurred out and if there's really a fox in his lap (in that case, maybe we'll see more of this artwork once we get the fifth Union Leader and more stories about Ava and the Dandelions...) The Transcendent Key 12,109 Posted August 2, 2017 I don't know why people felt underwhelmed by this 15th Anniversary piece! I honestly thought it was astoundingly awesome, and a great tip of the hat to Sora's 15 years of adventure! This is obviously the style Nomura will go for the cover as far as it goes, but I don't think this will be the cover itself. Like everyone else has mentioned, Nomura had already stated that ever since the ReMix covers, he's wanted to make the covers have a more symbolic approach. And with the pattern being sitting, standing and walking, it stands to reason that the cover for Kingdom Hearts III will have Sora and whoever accompanies him in the cover either running, gliding, or falling from the sky, something along those lines!
