The Transcendent Key 12,109 Posted July 22, 2017 Hey there everyone, how's it going? So then, as many of you probably know, the entire world was taken by storm when news hit that Linkin Park main vocalist, Chester Bennington, was found dead in his private residence yesterday...it was said that he committed suicide, that he hung himself. And well, the person who told me this was one of my best friends, who's also a long time fan of the band, as am I. When I was hit with the news, I could not believe it. It took me a while to process it, and I was speechless and dumbfounded! I really and quite literally could not believe that Chester had killed himself! Afterwards, I told another of my best friends, and well, we're all shocked by this! Never in my wildest dreams did I expect Chester as being capable of doing such a thing! But, it just goes to show that even though people have success and money, that doesn't guarantee their happiness. I'm sure Chester was facing severe depression, and perhaps he thought that suicide was the best option. I dunno, it's just that I find it messed up how he left his friends, his family and everyone behind like that. I feel sad for his fate, and for his loved ones! The man will be missed for his heart, his soulful lyrics and passion for his music, and for the lives he touched with his songs. You know, it's funny, the very first song that popped into my head when I heard news of his death was this one: It's just messed up! My condolences go to Chester's family and friends. This is just very sad news to hear. 5 HeyMouseSayCheese, RikuFangirl2008, Solstice and 2 others reacted to this
Yuya Sakaki 5,212 Posted July 22, 2017 I think we all grew up with Linkin Park. I know I did, so this was really shocking to hear. All the best for his family, friends and the band. Peace! 2 HeyMouseSayCheese and The Transcendent Key reacted to this
RikuFangirl2008 1,368 Posted July 22, 2017 I saw articles of this yesterday. I was like: "What?!" I may not be fully in Linkin Park then someone I know, but it was really sad to hear of his passing Someone mention some things about his life on here, in another forum post. It's really sad. I remember hearing Linkin Park in my Middle School/High School years. My condolences to the family and his band. 1 The Transcendent Key reacted to this
Firaga 5,947 Posted July 22, 2017 I've been listening to Linkin Park since junior high and I honestly consider them one of my favorite bands of all time. Chester was a really talented vocalist and always seemed like a very introspective and passionate guy too. It's really sad to see this happen. 1 The Transcendent Key reacted to this
HeyMouseSayCheese 1,133 Posted July 22, 2017 It's an absolute tragedy. Hybrid Theory was the first CD me and my brother ever owned; that and Meteora are some of my most listened to albums ever. Even if I don't always enjoy their music, Linkin Park was a huge part of my childhood/adolescence and it's heartbreaking to see a major part of that literally die. Like everyone else my heart goes out to his friends and family. 1 The Transcendent Key reacted to this
Young_Master_Eraqueez 59 Posted July 22, 2017 Man, I haven't listened to Linkin Park in ages but it really is a shame that happened. My condolences go out to his friends and family. 1 The Transcendent Key reacted to this
Azure Flame 670 Posted July 22, 2017 Yeah, I found out that day from this thread here http://kh13.com/forum/topic/108615-somethings-missing/ Like I put there, I had searched up a news article for it to find out what happened, which was where I learned that he killed himself. It also stated that apparently his parents got divorced when he was 11, and he had also been raped and beaten, which in turn lead him to doing drugs, which also makes a lot of the songs make a lot more sense. He will be sorely missed, Linkin Park has always been one of my favorite bands, and their music just spoke to me throughout most of my life. 1 The Transcendent Key reacted to this
WakelessDream 2,278 Posted July 22, 2017 This was just really sad and unexpected. I still follow Linkin Park, not as much as I used to though, but they were one of the bands I listened to so much throughout middle and high school. I remember having the Meteora, Hybrid Theory, and Minutes to Midnight albums all on my old iPod, and was super jelly when I found out my cousins were going to see them on their Projekt Revolution tour. Their music gives me a certain type of nostalgia I guess and I just never imagined things would have ended up like this. As many have already posted, thoughts and condolences go out to his fans, friends, family and the band. 1 The Transcendent Key reacted to this
Guest Posted July 22, 2017 I can only repeat what everyone else has said here, my condolences to Chester Bennington's family, and Rest in Piece Chester Bennington. At this point, all I can really is to be a helping hand for those who are in suicidal frame of mind. It's not an easy thing to get out of, but with the right help, things can look bright. The Transcendent Key 12,109 Posted July 24, 2017 I think we all grew up with Linkin Park. I know I did, so this was really shocking to hear. All the best for his family, friends and the band. Peace! Yeah, I know what you mean! I've been listening to them since Junior High, so yes, this particularly hits hard since I've heard their songs for such a long time now, and knowing that Chester is no longer among us really brought me down! I really hope his loved ones can be able to get through this tragedy! I saw articles of this yesterday. Yeah, Chester went through a lot in his life, and it's sad that his life had to end in such a tragic manner. I just hope his family will be okay. They must feel utterly crushed! I've been listening to Linkin Park since junior high and I honestly consider them one of my favorite bands of all time. Chester was a really talented vocalist and always seemed like a very introspective and passionate guy too. It's really sad to see this happen. Yeah, I know what you mean! He had a way of reaching out to a person with his strong, powerful lyrics, and the way he sang was always in such a passionate way that you could feel his pain, his sorrow, his anger, whatever feeling he was going through at the time! It's an absolute tragedy. Indeed. Though Chester may be gone, at least he left behind a legacy, and he won't be forgotten. I really hope that he's remembered for generations to come! Man, I haven't listened to Linkin Park in ages but it really is a shame that happened. My condolences go out to his friends and family. Yes, it is my hope that they make it out alright of this situation! Yeah, I found out that day from this thread here http://kh13.com/forum/topic/108615-somethings-missing/ Like I put there, I had searched up a news article for it to find out what happened, which was where I learned that he killed himself. He will be sorely missed, Linkin Park has always been one of my favorite bands, and their music just spoke to me throughout most of my life. Chester indeed went through hell, and yet he managed to persevere and make of his situations all the best he could with his songs. He poured his heart into them, and they are his living legacy, left for us to listen to for many years to come! This was just really sad and unexpected. Indeed. It seems as though many of you here are also like me, having started listening to the band during Junior High/High School times! But yes, his family and friends will push through this, little by little, I'm sure! I can only repeat what everyone else has said here, my condolences to Chester Bennington's family, and Rest in Piece Chester Bennington. At this point, all I can really is to be a helping hand for those who are in suicidal frame of mind. It's not an easy thing to get out of, but with the right help, things can look bright. Yes, it just stands to reason that it's vital to remind people out there that they are not alone in their suffering. If they have pain that they can't let go of, search for people you know that care about you to help you, because they'll help you with arms wide open. Don't let suicide be an option, never let it be an option! Well, there's nothing more that can be said, except farewell Chester, and may you have found peace. My condolences go to his loved ones. May they be able to get through this! 3 WakelessDream, Yuya Sakaki and RikuFangirl2008 reacted to this
