ObsidianEagle 103 Posted October 6, 2010 like the america thread, i'm curious. what do you think of england? what do you think of when you think of england? try not to erupt into fights, but since very few people on this site are from england, and i don't exactly 'defend where i come from', it should be fine. go ahead
Sora96 17,256 Posted October 6, 2010 England's not doing so well in the games. Australia's ruling while England's doing pretty bad.

ObsidianEagle 103 Posted October 7, 2010 Though I don't know a lot about it, it seems like a neat country. 8DDD I've always wanted to try a scone, for some reason. scones are exactly the same as what americans call biscuits. I can has tea? lol, you do have tea in other countries, just people choose to have coffee seems like they curse more than is appropriate. like all the english people i know curse alot well, really it depends what area you live in. for instand where i live (surrey, south-east) swearing is very rare. @strange familiar its part of their charm @fred stop connecting everything to america lmao @thread i love the people of england. they're so witty and dry rofl. & EVERY DAY I TUNE INTO SCOTT MILLS /shot i agree with all of those
CardCaptorDeadpool 386 Posted October 7, 2010 Doctor Who, Final Fantasy 12, Big brother, X factor, Tabloid Journalism, Knife attacks, The royal Family, Harlsden, Simon Pegg, Bangers and Mash, Apples and Pears, English-English, prodeominately Cockney accents, Traditional Cockney Xenophobia, Twat, Wank, Blood, saying "savvy" and "bloody" A LOT, pronouncing words with "H" as if there were no "H", Jeremy Clarkson, The Welsh, sordid affairs, Temps, Shilings Pounds. The list goes on... But seriously I love the UK I used to live there in Harsden which I think was near London for like 5 years when I was a child before I moved back to Ireland. ObsidianEagle 103 Posted October 7, 2010 lets analyse your list... Doctor Who, <---- awesome Final Fantasy 12, <---- didn't know it came from england Big brother, <---- sucks. X factor, <---- sucks. Tabloid Journalism, <---- i'm guessing that means newspapers, i'm pretty sure england isn't the only country with those Knife attacks, <---- rare. but like 90% of attacks does seem to be with knifes... The royal Family, <---- not really anymore, they don't actually do anything. i think we should get rid of them. **** The Queen!!! Harlsden, <---- dunno what that is Simon Pegg, <---- dunno who that is Bangers and Mash, <---- yummy Apples and Pears, <---- never heard that combination English-English, <---- ... prodeominately Cockney accents, <---- depends on where you are, cockney accents are actually very rare in england, you'll experience way more jordie accents Traditional Cockney Xenophobia, <---- not really, england has quite a relaxed view on homosexuality Twat, <---- lol Wank, <---- lol Blood, <---- huh? saying "savvy" and "bloody" A LOT, <---- bloody yes, what is savvy? pronouncing words with "H" as if there were no "H", <---- no no no, we don't do that. "Erbal Tea" how they pronounce herbal tea in america really annoys me Jeremy Clarkson, <---- is epicly awesome The Welsh, <---- nothing to do with england, but welsh accents are awesome sordid affairs, <---- dunno what that is Temps, <---- dunno what that is Shilings Pounds. <---- i prefer euros, they're more colourful than pounds The list goes on... Cellar Door 652 Posted October 8, 2010 working class english accents dont pronounce the 'h' in anything, actually. LOL @ welsh. 'nothing to do with england, but welsh accents are awesome.' trudat. i love the welsh. <
ObsidianEagle 103 Posted October 8, 2010 working class english accents dont pronounce the 'h' in anything, actually. i never knew that. i guess, again, it's what area of england you're from in the south-east we always pronounce Hs actually, i think it's cockney accents that don't. and like i said earlier, cockney accents are becoming increasingly rare

Rosie 3 Posted October 8, 2010 ...I love my Britishness. :'D And I sadly can't fight against the stereotypes because I slip into most of them. Except the appearence ones, because I'm not scrawny and I don't have bad teeth. So yeah. I drink tea constantly. I'm incredibly sarcastic and am nearly constantly deadpan when using humour. I say "bloody" a lot. I slip in between region accents because I moved around a lot as a child. So I slip into cockney, scouse, that icky Chester accent they use on the soap set here... But my friends too tease me for my being quite American, too- so I digress. But I love Brit humour so, so much. I don't think I could leave if it meant not encountering it anymore. Traditional Cockney Xenophobia, <---- not really, england has quite a relaxed view on homosexualityUm, XENOphobia, not HOMOphobia...And where I live, there is a LOT of homophobia. I'm still not sure of my sexuality, but I would not come out here, especially not at school. Two of my best friends are gay (but not together, even though I thought they were perfect for each other) and they get SO much stick from just about everyone. Students, teachers, people who live in the town. Random strangers insult them, even.
