StrangeFamiliar 0 Posted October 2, 2010 What's your opinion on America? Well, to be more specific what's your opinion on American people, politics, and culture?(Don't base your opinions solely on the users of this site, since they are obviously a hell of a lot better people than most Americans)

Space Cowboy 1,392 Posted October 2, 2010 I hate America, because of the economy, because of the racism, because of the amount of heartlessness, because of the millions of people without a job, because of peoples greed for money, because of EVERYTHING. If I stay in America, the future I have planned for will be jeopardized. As soon as I turn 18, I'm moving to either Canada or Guatemala.
Tails 6,692 Posted October 2, 2010 Well, I'm basicly from America so I say we Americans are ok but we get into things that don't concern us like when Bush made us go into the Iraq war when we didn't even have any real reason to go there in the first place. Do live in like New York or something cause here in Florida if anyone is racist me and my friends will be on their @$$ like flies on dogshit. People are a bit greedy but really no one is COMPLETLY heartless where i live. There a couple asswipes though. ANYWAYS In america o think our economy is down A LOT. Especially with the oil spill in the gulf effecting where i live in FL.

ObsidianEagle 103 Posted October 2, 2010 i couldn't care less about america. i couldn't care less about where people come from in general. if you want me to be completely honest... look below. i think americans are WAAAAAAAY too proud. you know the type i mean, who talk about THEIR GREAT COUNTRY OF AMERICA. and the fact that america even has a day (july 4th) where they celebrate themselves. but i've never understood why people should be proud about where they come from. where they come from has nothing to do with anything. like i don't go around saying how i'm english and AM FROM GREAT BRITAIN, GOD SAVE THE QUEEN!!!!!?!!!!?! (lol, the queen does nothing, i wonder why the royal family still exists) this guy however... OiyH4QS8nCk

I'm not just American, i'm Native American. And i'm pissed, at what they did to America. Anyways, yeah, we suck. But i'm stayin' in America, cause i'm too poor for airplanes. Amon 4,279 Posted October 2, 2010 America is great and was always great. It only started going a bit down hill when communist liberals began to come into power. The constitution is perfect, sadly people like to firetruck with it. That's why we are in the slump we are in now. And its probably going to get worst because of inflation. The government is printing more money then what is needed and the value of the dollar is going in the toilet. Inflation is a huge factor in what destroyed the roman empire, one of the most powerful empires ever to come into existence. So if inflation destroyed Rome, then America is firetrucked. We also have some of the most inaccurate news reports ever. If you dig into the story a little bit you can actually figure out that a lot of the things that the media is saying is highly exaggerated or completely untrue. I'm staying here though until it's necessary to leave. Like I said America is still better off then many of the other countries. Do your research if you don't believe me. Many voters are morons as well, they simply vote for the party their parents voted for. They have no knowledge on who they vote for at all. They just assume that if it is in the party they like (for no reason) they automatically think its the right choice. America is also one of the largest economic and military powers in the world. It's reached the point where almost everything that happens in the world effects us. That is mostly a good thing. Let's face it, the human race will go extinct due to wars unless they are united as a planet. The united states is in the best position to commence that unity. If you think things are bad in the US then wait until you see some of the other countries. The GLOBAL economy sucks, not just the US economy. The only way to escape it is to move to another planet which unless you have billions of dollars, that's not going to happen. Strangely enough, the formerly communist countries are becoming capitalist and the capitalist countries are becoming communist. Which is why learning Russian or Chinese may not be such a bad idea. When the sickle and hammer start appearing I'm going to a nice capitalist country. TL;DR America, love it or GTFO! Some of the stuff I read is completely biased with absolutely no solid facts. The thread title should be changed to "Hate on America" because that's what is going on here. C'mon KH13 your better then this.

SuperPunk 13 Posted October 2, 2010 If I can state my REAL opinion on this, it would be: America used to be one of the greatest nations. But, because we are becoming lazy and half of the population does not give a damn about education and civil rights, we aren't as devoted as helping ourselves progress. I was reading some stuff about the Romans and Greeks in History and I was like "Hm. What if America was like this?" Because apperantly, those places actually made a mark on history, even though they died out kinda. ._.' Still, with our bad economy, the way some Americans are becoming greedy and ignorant, how the 'man' is putting us down with new education laws and textbooks that are full of rubbish, and the fact that a frikken pizza can get to your house faster than a fire truck is beyond me. Space Cowboy 1,392 Posted October 2, 2010 True and not true. Every country has problems, but other countries problems aren't as severe as others, leading people to think that the country is better than theirs. I honestly think Canada is better than the U.S, just because of the fact you don't see anything on the news about it here. I just have a mind that things are peaceful there, or at least more peaceful than here in the U.S..
SuperPunk 13 Posted October 2, 2010 We're not running away Cella. We're MIGRATING. I kid. But seriously. Cellar Door 652 Posted October 2, 2010 actually the pm has been threatening troops on russia and is having jet things built by you guys! to assert out 'arctic sovereignty'. we have our own problems. just because you dont hear about canada on the news doesn't mean we're perfect lol. though we're in the commonwealth games and urrr not oh jeluz i no /shot if you wanted to move to canada because you honestly studied the culture, have been there quite a few times and enjoy it there, i'd understand. not because 'well i hear about my countries problems on the news but not canadas, that means everythings dandy there.' sure, by nature canadians are a tad more peaceful-- you fought for your independence, we said please. but we have our owns problems with things like bad laws, stupid leaders stephenharpercough, poverty and drugs. and you're still seen as a symbol of hope in many poor countries--you're still seen as the ones that would die for your freedom. in america, you CAN make a difference, and you CAN go somewhere. in a shitload of other countries that's only a dream. hopefully my point gets through to a few people, im done here nao

I was reading some stuff about the Romans and Greeks in History and I was like "Hm. What if America was like this?" We were like that and we did make a mark on history. Like I said before, the constitution was perfect once our last amendment was added but liberals keep trying to screw with it. We're not running away Cella. We're MIGRATING. I kid. But seriously. We have a future ahead of us, and I dunno about the rest of you, but I don't wanna spend it earning 5 dollars an hour because of this crisis. The crisis is not to blame for earning 5 an hour. You can become a millionaire in our current economy if you work hard. Don't expect the government to give you everything. If you do that then you will earn 5 an hour. True and not true. For example quite a number of people in Canada are willing to cross the border in the US just to get medical attention. Facts FTW

If there was a better place we wouldn't have this immigration issue right now.
Cellar Door 652 Posted October 3, 2010 okay, told myself i wouldnt come back but @fred people go to the us for medical attention when they have the money if they want a check up or something done fast, because you have more doctors. it has nothing to do with the economy, its because you overpay your doctors so canadian doctors go to the us, and canada is left with little. however, a lot of people dont have the money for american doctors, and wont get like surgeries there. unless youre like rich lol

(well, I can't say that for sure, but the majority of people would be worse off) i'm not sure, canada seems great and i'm happy here in the UK. crime is very low, and YOU AREN'T ALOUD TO HAVE GUNS that's one of my biggest problems with america. hundreds of americans get killed a year from gun accidents. and thats just accidents, don't get me into overuse and misuse of guns... guns can kill someone instantly, so people shouldn't be aloud them. even if it's self-defence, no-one deserves to die because they're robbing your house (for that they need to be put in jail, not shot in the stomach)

People kill people with guns. Correct me if I'm wrong but stabbings are major problems in the UK like how shootings are a problem in the US. Are you going to ban knives too? The point is humans will find a way to destroy each other all the time. The only way to stop killings is to destroy each and every person on earth and that's not going to happen. It's also easier to find the killer if they use a gun. First off guns are loud and the people that usually murder with them don't know how to use them properly resulting in multiple loud shots. Secondly the bullets and cartiridges they leave behind are covered in the fingerprints of the person who fired the gun making it very easy to figure out who did it. Knives are silent and don't leave anything behind besides the damage they inflict. Unless there are witnesses or the person drops their knife, it is very difficult to figure out who is responsible for a stabbing. The reason why crime in the UK seems low is because it is very easy to cover one up. If you do your research you can find that crime in the UK is almost as bad as it is in the US And robberies where the robber wasn't willing to use violence is unheard of. If the homeowner catches the robber in the act the robber will always get physical. Shooting said robber is the best option. Shooting doesn't mean killing either. Unlike those who go crazy and kill people, people who use guns for self defense are usually trained and are good shots. Shoot the robber in the leg or the arm and they are unable to do anything. Then call the authorities. I don't get what your point is, your criticizing my country when you don't seem to know much about it. I find that very offensive. On the other hand I know quite a bit about Britain, I've even visited the country multiple times and have friends there. I might even know a bit more about it then you do and that's a bit wierd. TL;DR- Don't hate on America if you don't know anything about it.
