What Live Action Disney Movies would you want in KH3?

Recommended Posts

This is a topic i've been thinking about a lot ever since the reveal of the Unreal engine 4 as the KH3 engine so i think it's about time someone talks about this. Now as the title suggests, what Live Action world would you want in KH3? Thinking about it there are not very many Live Action Disney movies out there (excluding the remakes of the classic Disney movies) so why even discus this? well a lot of these Movies are films that i really enjoyed and i feel like they would serve out as interesting worlds in KH3 and beyond. For example Pirates of the Caribbean should return. Port Royal is my favorite world in the series so i really hope they bring it back in KH3 through the dead mans chest plot but knowing the fanbases demands for Treasure Planet, i'm seeing Port royal to be unlikely since we probably don't need 2 pirate themed worlds. Now heres an unexpected idea that many may confuse some people but i really want National Treasure to someday appear in KH. i just think it would so cool to team up with Nicholas Cage and help steal the declaration of Independence but again, National Treasure is about stealing a treasure and since the possibility of Treasure Planet being a world is very high i doubt it And it does technically take in the future of the 1700s where POTC take place so that may confuse some people with the timeline. Now another idea i can think of is The Lone Ranger which in my opinion would be an AWESOME world. While the movie wasn't really that great, the setting would be really cool to play in like imagine Sora riding on a horse chasing after bandits? that sounds awesome to me. Now this one may confuse some people too considering i don't think many people don't realize it's a Disney film but OZ The Great and Powerful sounds like a cool idea. now again it's may be surprising to realize that OZ the great and powerful was made by Disney since the original classic movie i don't believe was Disney but i just think it would be a cool world to travel in and Fighting the wicked witch of the west sounds pretty cool too. I would like to see how Square handles the Black and White to Color Transition too. Now i would say John Carter would be a cool idea but NOPE end of Discussion. Another majestic Disney movie i think would work is the new Alice in Wonderland movie (the one with Johnny Depp) since that movie does continue the story of Alive in Wonderland. I am getting sick of that world though so i think they should change it up a bit somehow. Now last one i want to talk about is the possibility of Tron being brought back again. Now Tron Legacy was the newest (and Last) Tron movie so there isn't really anything new to do in the Tron world but i think they should pull a Big Hero 6 and make the story after the events of Tron Legacy and continue it through the KH story. that might pull in some Tron fanboys to buy KH3 just for that tron world too so more MONEY. lol but what other Realistic Worlds would you want in KH3? these are the only ones i can think of really so i'd like to hear other people's thoughts.

This movie. Just imagine how beautiful the world of Oz would look in Unreal Engine 4. Plus the locations really fit the fantasy theme of Kingdom Hearts. Sure, the movie was mediocre, but that's not going to ruin the experience of actually playing in the world. And imagine how climactic the boss fights would be!

Pirates of the Caribbean, Alice in Wonderland, Jungle Book and Oz The Great and Powerful. Also Marvel, Star Wars, Indiana Jones, John Carter, Narnia, The Lone Ranger and Enchanted (but only the animated part of the movie). If Prince of Persia is also possible, why not? I don't think National Treasure or anything live-action set in a modern-day era and non-fictional feel would fit in Kingdom Hearts (that's why I don't want Enchanted's live-action part in Kingdom Hearts). Note that all of these are for future games in general, not just KH3.

alice in wonderland sounds pretty good since the queen never caught sora and friends and I would like to have a tea party with the mad hatter. you are right enchanted would not fit at all because the whole film is just disney making fun of itself which would rob kingdom hearts of its "seriousness".

PotC

Tron

New worlds:

Prince of Persia: Sands of Time

Enchanted

Narnia

i didn't even think of Narnia. That actually sounds like a cool idea, i remember watching the first Narnia a long time ago so that could bring back some memories from that. But Prince of Persia was Disney? I honestly never knew that.

Yep another great thing if PoP will make in KH3. Many wouldn't think that is also Disney.

I don't think Ubisoft would be a problem. They got their logo in the intro.

The Avengers would be nice aswell.

Well, the first and second movie was distributed by Disney, but then Disney had a falling with the studio creating the movies, so the remaining sequels were distributed by other companies. Still, just representing the first movie would be more than ideal if it did end up in Kingdom Hearts III.

This was what I was thinking would be the problem with Narnia. The C. S. Lewis Company might be willing to work with Disney and allow Narnia to be used in KH however to promote advertisement for their 4th movie currently in production.

The main problem I see is it's Medieval Western European setting, which Tangled has has already fit. Would be easier to work around though than a pacific island setting between Lilo & Stitch and Moana though.

Prince of Persia could work if Ubisoft is willing to allow Disney to use the property in KH. It would fit a desert setting, which Aladdin is the only other movie I can think of which focuses on this type of setting.

POTC 2 would fit as well.....although mostly for the Kraken fight. Also, imagine if Sora turned into a merman in this world and the reaction.

What's the point of using Prince of Persia if Aladdin is more than likely going to return? Plus, Narnia is Live Action so it's aesthetically different from Tangled to begin with. If Snow White and Sleeping Beauty can be featured in the same game, I don't see why Narnia and Tangled can't. And where did you get the idea that a Pacific world can't be handled well? Sora comes from Destiny Islands, pretty sure a Moana world is part and parcel with everything Kingdom Hearts.

Prince of Persia could still be used. While Aladdin would be more likely to return that doesn't stop them from potentially using Prince of Persia. Nothing is truly out of limits unless stated, which has only been seen for FF origin worlds (e.g. FFXII Ivalice).

I said it's a problem but not a major one, as it would be easy to work around, mainly for the reason you said. And the worlds of Cinderella, Aurora and Snow White likely had to be done for the sake of the story, as they were the only Princess of Heart worlds that had yet to be done.

I didn't mean that pacific world's wouldn't be handled well but using two pacific island based worlds in one game would not work well. Pretty sure having Lilo & Stitch in one game an Moana in another would work better than having both in one game being so similar.

The Prince of Persia movie is a licensed property shared by Ubisoft whilst Aladdin has already been established in Kingdom Hearts. Pretty sure Square Enix would just stick with the latter because the former is too legally constrained and doesn't add enough variety as a distinguishable world.

The problem with Disney's live action films is that the majority of them are either shared properties such as The Chronicles of Narnia series and Bridge to Terabithia being collaborations with Walden Media which are outside of SE's rights or else are just live action remakes of the classics which have already been adapted into KH.

Nomura has addressed this issue in regard to Star Wars and Marvel properties.

There is also a couple of unique issues with Enchanted and National Treasure, two of Disney's exclusive live action properties as much as I do like them.

1. Enchanted is largely a composite of several classic fairy tales that have already been adapted (Snow White, Sleeping Beauty and Cinderella).

2. Both films, in the case of Enchanted, the majority of the film, are set in real world locations which kind of doesn't fit with KH.

3. the overall plot of National Treasure is too real world.

If what I've read elsewhere, that KHIII is promising all original adaptions is true, it wouldn't be entirely impossible to focus an Enchanted themed world in exclusively Andulasia but that would leave no room to include one of the lead male roles, Robert who is an important character to the plot and to the lead female, Gizelle.

We also have John Carter and Lone Ranger which were box office failures.

The Prince of Persia, I know nothing about, I've never even seen it, but Alpha Baymax seems to have covered that.

The only exclusively Disney live action property that could work is Tomorrowland. While I felt the film kind of lacked some development, in an original adaption the plot of the film doesn't matter. I liked the concepts of 'which wolf will you feed' and a place for the imaginative to build the world a better future and feel that they would adapt well into KH.

UPDATE: Scrolling up I noticed something, I did not realize Oz The Great and Powerful was Disney. That could work as well and the set design would adapt beautifully. I do like the film though I prefer Wicked's version of the Wicked Witch of the West's backstory which this film contradicts.

the thing with National Treasure i understand but idk i honestly really want that world to get in KH3 or a later game. I know it does sound VERY unlikely with how it's a little too realistic and there's also the fact that it's basically in the future of Pirates of the Caribbean where the plot is about a treasure that gets hidden by one of the founding fathers of the USA which may be kinda weird and confusing. But i think it might have a small chance of working. here's an idea of how the world could go: Sora arrives in Washington DC where Nicholas cage (forgot the actually characters name) is seen running away from the police after stealing the declaration of independence and Sora decides to help the police catch the thieves. Sora finds the thieves only to find out they stole the document to find a hidden treasure worth millions but they had to get it fast before a group of guys get it first. later on an Organization member appears and is seen working with the enemy group because that member believes there is a special item in that treasure that help them defeat Sora and his friends. Now Sora has to help get that Treasure too before the Organization member gets it themselves. This sounds like an appropriate plot for the world but i do agree with the realistic setting. it sounds very likely to be a world in KH3 and theres even the fact that Treasure planet is most likely gonna be a world in KH3 so if that's in the game then National Treasure probably has no chance as of right now. i'm hoping KH4 or any other side games will feature National treasure (please Nomura) but again it's still very unlikely.

This concept has merit.

If the setting could somehow be reworked to be more fictional, I could see The Key to Return Hearts being the treasure or at least Sora and the Organization (perhaps one because of the other) believing it is since that's what Sora is searching for in KHIII.

I do like the film a lot.

And Nicolas Cage's character's name is Ben Gates and now that I think of it, I'd be interested in seeing KH do something with how the Gates family is infamous for their absurd belief in the treasure, as a result of which Ben uses a different last name in the beginning.
