Power Jusho 1,783 Posted February 25, 2017 So GameStop emailed a survey to their PowerUp Rewards members and in the middle of the survey they had a chart showing that they might add higher membership than the Pro status: the Elite Membership. It would cost $50 a year, have all the same benefits of the Pro tier but you get 20% off 9 select games instead of 3 select titles in the Pro tier. And speaking of the Pro tier, they might increase the price for the membership from $15 a year to $25. In my opinion, as a Pro member for almost 6 years, I'm not digging it. You're making me pay more for Pro but there isn't much more benefits from what I already have and the only new benefit is the 20% off 3 new titles but I can't even choose game I want at a discounted price. That kinda sucks. As for the Elite status, i think it should be any new games to be 25% off, similar to when you preorder with Amazon Prime.
MythrilMagician 6,963 Posted February 25, 2017 Why are they charging for added benefits anyway? It looks stupid. EB Games has a level up system and you earn points with each purchase. As you level up, you gain more benefits. It should be like that, Gamestop and EB Games are practically the same company anyway.

On the survey, they actually asked if people wanted something similar to that.

It's a loyalty membership, they shouldn't charge their customers for that.
Aqua7KH 5,395 Posted February 25, 2017 Dude just get Best Buy Gamer's Club. Pay 30$ every two years for 20% ALL games. 1 Shulk reacted to this
Shulk 8,623 Posted February 25, 2017 Dude just get Best Buy Gamer's Club. Pay 30$ every two years for 20% ALL games. I was going to say this. It's absolutely worth getting. GameStop's become a last resort type of store for me lately, they really aren't that great. Best Buy, Amazon, and other local game stores are really the way to go for getting games in my opinion. (I think 2.8 Limited Edition wasn't sold at Best Buy unless they just were sold out when I went to pick one up.) But yeah, if you just care about getting your game, Best Buy is great. Any game no matter what is always 20% off.

I'm getting my Switch and copy of Breath of the Wild from them on Friday, but only because they were the place I could get to and pre-order from the fastest. That's generally the only case I personally get new games from them. Best Buy's discounts make them a way better option.
