Eternalsleep 175 Posted February 21, 2017 So i just found out that the whole ansem the wise identity theft/fall of radiant garden happened 9 years before kh 1 or 1 year after bbs. But I'm a bit confused since in bbs ienzo was a kid even younger than ventus, & he seemed close to ansem the wise. It was also stated that EACH of ansem's apprentices betrayed him, so does that mean that ienzo fell into darkness & became a nobody as a kid & grew up as a nobody for 10 years? Also what reason did he have for willingly turning on ansem at that young age after convincing him to build a lab in the basement? something must've been REALLY wrong with him. So someone please clarify for me am I wrong about the timeline or has ienzo just been growing up in his nobody form.
catmaster0116 2,676 Posted February 21, 2017 Human Ienzo doesn't seem so evil as shown in KH3D, he seems a lot more scholarly if anything. My guess is a few of the apprentices were turned into nobodies against their will by Terra-Xehanort (who had regained his memories at the time), after turning them into Nobodies and turning himself into Xemnas, he probably gave them all some long winded charimastic speech about the need to overthrow Ansem because he feared to experiment on the heart and by doing so they would need to seek out Kingdom hearts and gain a heart of their own. This in effect allowed the newly born Xemnas to lead the nobodies down a path of rebellion and treachery against Ansem the wise. 2 Elfdemon_ and Eternalsleep reacted to this
KeybladeMasterBalo 504 Posted February 21, 2017 Also don't forget that Ienzo seemed to show the ability to "detect" "feel" "interpret" mysterious things on the environment like when he stopped while taking the walk with AtW, he then turned to watch Xehanort and Braig since he "had a feeling" or was detecting something. Xehanort must've thought that this unusal ability would come in handy while looking for more members or other things, so he must've targeted the little boy. Also for the growing up part is still possible. Remember that Isa and Lea were also younger and all of them returned as "grown people". The rest were already grown up so hence why we don't see differences at all. Those are my thoughts at least. BlankShell 638 Posted February 21, 2017 Do we have an explicit source for the falling into darkness specifically happening 1 year after BBS? Isn't the fall into darkness the same thing as the opening events of KH?

Isn't the fall into darkness the same thing as the opening events of KH?i think it was leon or someone from his group that mentioned "9 years ago" in kh1 but i could be wrong. Also kairi landed on destiny islands when she was still young according to riku, which was after xehanort(aprentice xehanort) broke the barriers between worlds & started letting darkness into radiant garden

Elfdemon_ 695 Posted February 26, 2017 We know for sure that Ienzo aged as a Nobody, because in the cutscene at the beginning of Dream Drop Distance it shows the point in time when Ienzo and Even were turning into Heartless/Nobodies and Ienzo was still a kid then. So, he aged when he was Zexion. We do not know what caused all of the apprentices to turn on Ansem the Wise though. Xehanort and Braig were obviously malicious and evil, so it's obvious why they turned on Ansem. Even seemed slightly malicious as well, and Dilan seems indifferent to Ansem, so I can see them turning on Ansem as well. It's definitely sort of hard to see Ienzo and Aeleus turning against Ansem though.
