DChiuch 5,773 Posted September 27, 2010 According to PlayStation LifeStyle, Tetsuya Nomura has recently engaged in an interview where he mentions Kingdom Hearts III, the next console game of the Kingdom Hearts series. Extracts from the interview, featured in EGMi, are shown below. For any sequel of the mainstream storyline of the Kingdom Hearts series, that would be Kingdom Hearts III. But the problem is that the opportunity of developing the sequel is not currently [possible]. The team is busy, I am busy. I'm thinking about what's going to be next after Kingdom Hearts II, the future that is Kingdom Hearts III. Time has nearly come to [work on] that concept. Yes it might be possible. It is my desire to develop the next Kingdom Hearts on the existing platform, but the problem with a new console is that it has new technical requirements. So, yes, I'm willing to create something on the existing console because when we aim for another non-existing future console, the release of the title will be far in the future. That's my concern. Lastly, Nomura stated that he often has to "sacrifice my private time, my marriage, my family time" to stay on top of all his current projects. Regarding the future of Kingdom Hearts, all of this means that Kingdom Hearts III will soon be in the concept stage. 1 Nikolasvanitas reacted to this

Sigrun 1,064 Posted September 28, 2010 i feel kinda bad since he has to sacrifice some of personal time to a bunch of greedy fans
EaglesFan887 11 Posted September 28, 2010 Yea. I feel bad. I can't believe he sacrifices his marriage, and family time. He must be really dedicated to make his staff and fans happy. I just hope he can take a break soon from the video game industry. Maybe a few months- a year for him to just spend time with his family, etc. But thanks Nomura for everything! I don't know why fans and staff are pressuring him for KH3. I mean we just got Days, BBS, Re:Coded, 3D, all in the past year, or upcoming year. 2009-2011. That's enough for us to chill for a bit, until he's ready for KH3.
Sigrun 1,064 Posted September 28, 2010 yea the man needs his r&r epeacally after kh3 i say he gets 6 months off to spend some time with his family and stuff and where he will take the series next that will be good for him and the future of kh
Exlon 165 Posted September 28, 2010 He's gotta be really dedicated to sacrifice his family time for that---hopefully it won't result into anything drastically bad. Like I hope his family will understand. I'm with every one else, he should take a break from all this stuff. And it sounds like KHIII is gonna be on the PS3? ...I think I'm gonna cry. >< How the HECK am I going to save up for one of those? After getting the 3DS I guess I'll have to stop buying random games, save allowance ('cept for Re:Coded and KH3DS), and will wait until the release of KHIII before getting a PS3 (hopefully the prices will lower by then and it'd be nice if backwards-compatibility for the PS2 came back). So...do you guys think 2012 at the earliest? Although since it's just going to be in the planning stages and seeing how long some of the others took, maybe 2013. kingdomlanelover 494 Posted September 28, 2010 Poor Nomura. I feel bad. If he just would have made kingdom hearts 3 right after all of the games came out.(bbs, coded, 358) Instead of making kingdom hearts 3d. Then he would have more time to work on other games. Like some at a time.
Sephiroth991995 2 Posted September 28, 2010 Nomura must be proud of his games to be sacrificing FAMILY time for them
Amon 4,279 Posted September 28, 2010 Sigh, we all know and nomura knows that KHIII cannot come out for the PS3. Nomura is just trying to keep the fans hopeful. Like I said in another thread, KH3 cannot begin production until that final fantasy game is completed which will be around late 2012. Add the the other year for the English release and KH3 won't begin production until late 2013. Then you have three years for production and one year for the english version and KH3 comes out around late 2017 or early 2018. The average lifespan of a console before the creators of said console decide to replace it is around three to five years. We will be at the PS4 or whatever it will be called by the time KH3 is released. If KH3 comes out for the PS3 then it would have been made in less than two years (as the PS3 and other current generation consoles are beginning to end their lifespan) resulting in a rushed game. And as we have seen from MW2, games that are rushed are terrible. I'd rather wait 8 years for a good game instead of 1 year for a bad game. TL;DR, It's impossible for Nomura and his team to make KH3 for the PS3

Although I feel bad Nomura has to keep on working game after game (Days, BbS, Re:Coded, and then KH3D) and has to think about KHIII somewhere along the way. roxaskeybladeart55 72 Posted September 29, 2010 Poor guy, I fell bad for him, it must be hell to design all those products from scratch, and to sacrifice his family. Take all the time you need Nomura, BBS and Re:coded will keep me entertained.
