KH3 rumors by Spanish news writer

A post on the kingdom hearts subreddit was made detailing rumors of kh3 via the twitter of a spanish news writer.

Hello guys, first of all, I want you to take this information with grain of salt because it might just be fake, but this dude has claimed very true things and he's a news writer in a Spanish website, so I think we should at least hear him:

• Release date is targetted NOW to March 2018, it could be delayed if there are problems in development.
• Development team is using assets always subject to change.
• As Nomura stated, there're certain playable zones and the game should be fully playable in August.
• They're working on redoing PS2 assets (possibly for returning worlds).
• The zones already developt for KH3 look very, VERY beautiful.
• When a new build is done and Nomura checks it, he wants it to be better in certain aspects. He wants the game to have very good quality standards.
• KH3 is a very challenging development because of all the content they have to work: Levels, Animations, Models, ... and it's a very slow process.

Could be fake, could be true. These things pop up all the time though. We'll just have to wait and see.

Don't know about it's authenticity but March 2018 is a reasonable target for release. It may end up being later but whatever.

March 2018 sounds reasonable (even though it's my hope it's this year), but as for the rest, it sounds reasonable as well, but it is obviously to be taken with a grain of salt.

You might find it interesting that the clerk at my local Gamestop said that March 2018 was the date they currently had for KH 3. I found it odd since I hadn't heard of any release date for the game, but it supports your info.

I am going to take this with some skepticism, but it all sounds very very likely. Hopefully Square will release a new trailer soon with some gameplay and we can see how beautiful it looks. As for March 2018, I would prefer if Square did not make an official announcement on this possible date till about E3 so the wait won't seem as excruciating. Hopefully most of this is true, but we'll have to wait and see.

Completely fake, March is too soon since Nomura said that there are worlds they haven't even touched yet and making the worlds for 3 takes time. The rest of these statements are general things anybody can guess or say. The amount of things we've seen doesn't even come close to the amount of things we were shown for 0.2 and that was a smaller game. Kh3 is a long time away from getting a release date, we would need to get a release date this March for it to release March 2017.

Well about redoing PS2 could mean aswell Twilight Town, Castle Oblivion.

If it should be released in March 2018 I will go for a worldwide release on 13th March .

 

Or perhaps the same dates like 1.5/2.5. But yeah it is easily to figure.

The original tweets say:

 

• KHIII development isn't going as well as expected and the development team are using assets subject to change
• They expected some parts to be fully playable on August but it's not looking that way
• It is possible that the release date (march 2018) couldn't be affected but right now it's hard to believe it won't be delayed.
• The main problem is all the content they need to create: levels, animations, models... and they work very slowly
• Everytime the development team creates a "build", nomura tells them that they should be work better on another different thing, so they start working again when there's more ps2 assets that need work, levels and stuff like that

Good God, can you imagine if these rumors were true! That'd be frickin fantastic! If these rumors would prove to be true, then I say that Kingdom Hearts III's development is going accordingly!

 

Just watch though! If the tentative "March 2018" release window gets delayed, then they'll release the game on July 13, 2018, because it's the thirteenth day of the seventh month! Ironically fitting, isn't it?  But yeah, March sounds perfectly reasonable, and let's hope that the game's progress isn't delayed! I hope Nomura and the gang can be able to pull off a successful game in Kingdom Hearts III!

 

Crud, and if the game were fully playable by August...just imagine the gameplay videos we'd get to see! A fan can dream that these rumors are true! X3

The thing is, unlike so many other rumors, this one isn't outrageous or anything, so it might be reasonable-sounding enough to either be surprisingly real or cleverly fake. In any case, I guess we'll see in the months to come once Nomura starts talking more details. Whenever that is.

Yes but that means nothing. Those dates are always scheduled to change.

True but in 2014 there was an engine switch which pushed development back, not to mention team members having to work on 2.8 which was a decent sized project.

not really engine switch may set set them back a couple months but not a year plus kh3  was being made along the same time as 2.8
