FireStorm 162 23 Posted November 9, 2010 Maybe it's because the wooden sword....... sucks. We all know that in Hollow Bastion Sora's attacks didn't do anything, it was all the Beast (coz he's a BEAST......ok, i'll shut up now) But seriously, i think it's coz Sora didn't have a strong heart at the Destiny Islands, but his heart was strong enough to do damage and actually hit them in Hollow Bastion, even if he does not much damage at Hollow Bastion anyway (I just let Beast fight while i ran away and did the healing side of it) 1 wayfinder823 reacted to this

Isamu Kuno 2,512 Posted December 7, 2010 It's because the Wooden Sword isn't a real weapon. It doesn't have an edge and it's made of wood so it can't even inflict blunt force trauma. The most it could do is give the Heartless a nasty splinter. Even Roxas's stick, being round (and presumably having something solid underneath the foam) would do more damage because without as much wind resistance it can come down faster and, therefore, hit harder. At least the Keyblade is made of metal, its like swinging a pipe. I also have a theory on the Keblades source of power. Check the speculation threads if you want to see it. Also, even though its not obvious in-game I think fighting the Heartless with any weapon (besides the Keyblade of course) requires a certain amount of battle experience. That's why Will couldn't fight them and Jack Sparrow could. At that point the only real fight Will had been in was with Jack. Being a pirate Jack had much more experience. As for Experiment 626/Stitch, he was built to destroy so he was pre-programed with many battle tactics.

deathrebirthsenshi 279 Posted December 30, 2010 Okay, maybe I was just at a low level, but my wooden sword did slim to none damage in Hollow Bastion. Any change would be his experience. But seriously, I did ars arcanum and it did like nothing, I was so disappointed T-T
KingMIckey05 0 Posted December 30, 2010 Well i think that sora realy didn't know how to use the wooden sword intil he reached a bigger/ better level.
Rodman 22 Posted July 23, 2011 The wooden sword doesn't cause enough damage to destroy the heartless.

aubreyloveskh 16 Posted July 24, 2011 I'm really getting sick of people trying to pretend that the Orginization is some innocent, random group of people, who Sora out of nowhere decided to slaughter because he felt like it. Every member of the Organization attacks Sora, mocks him, steals his friends, plays mind games with him, and in general, behave like antagonists. Sora is one of the few chosen keyblade wielders because he's the main characters. Wouldn't it be something, if instead, Riku or someone was the keyblade wielder, and Sora just sort of wondered around waiting until Riku saved everybody? (And before the fangirls speak up, NO!) Everybody loves him because as a general rule, Sora decides to save their lives when he sees them. Sounds like a pretty good reason to like somebody, I dunno. Beyond that, it is also explained that the only significant thing about Sora is that his heart touches everybody he meets, so that's why people tend to love or hate him. The villains hate Sora for messing with their plans. It may not be 'deep' but it's a pretty solid reason. Really, M(G)ary S(t)u's can only exist in media where you aren't intended to be empowered (Horror games, and a lot of books and movie) But a character has to be powerful in order for the game to be fun, not frustrating, and I really don't see how being friends with the good guys is some how a bad thing. In full agreement with this. I hate it when people dislike sora because basically he is a good guy and does the right thing. Also, I hate it when people say he pretty much just decided to kill the organization "just because." Sure, there are plenty of organization members who just wanted hearts and are really good people. However, they still did bad things to try and get hearts, and they were pretty much antagonizing sora. But anyways, back on topic. I suppose sora's heart growing gave him the ability to fight heartless with a wooden sword.

Snow 1,800 Posted October 9, 2011 At Hollow Bastion, he did, like, one little sliver of damage per hit. Beast was the one dishing out the hurt.

Vivi111 111 Posted December 10, 2011 just asking bout something, a wooden sword couldn't hit a heartless, a struggle bat couldn't hit a nobody but a stick hits a heartless. just look back at the series
Master Keeper 687 Posted December 10, 2011 Because Sora was weak and making the wooden sword pass the heartless is like that he is attacking and messing the moves and also it is like he is tired of trying to hit them
Oishii 3,987 Posted December 10, 2011 Maybe it has to do more with the wielder than what their weapon is. In KH1, Sora couldn't summon the keyblade and both times his weapon was weak or noneffective. In KH2, Roxas couldn't summon the keyblade until he was coaxed by Namine (if I remember right). But in Days, Roxas did have the power to summon the keyblade, but he was lending it to Xion. So it could be said that the stick was powerful only because Roxas was still powerful. Personally, I think he should have stuck with the stick
