Upcoming Marvel and Square Enix Announcement

Obviously I'm not saying anything is 100% confirmed, but they both posted at the exact same time. The only Square Enix game even associated with Marvel is Kingdom Hearts and that is because of Disney. I'd say it's either some medal thing for UX or a KH3 concept art/world reveal. Who knows.

GUYS, ARE WE THIS THIRSTY FOR KH3 NEWS THAT WE REVERED BACK TO THIS LEVEL AGAIN? I really think it's a coincidence. I could honestly go 3-4 more months without news because of 0.2 for multiple reasons. (low-key want this to be a thing because a lot of people will loose bets)

 

Edit: Wait a sec, "new world that's never been in any KH game", "story updates on Thurs", "fairytale style". O M G, this is one of the few ways they could put marvel in KH... in comic book style!

It would be nice if Avengers will be in KH3. But I don't know if it will match with BH6.

Okay, it could be one of three options:

1. This really is just an odd coincidence.
2. Marvel is coming to KH (either Unchained X or KH3).
3. New Square Enix game using a Marvel IP.

Option 1 could be possible, but it is just too weird for two big companies to tease an announcement for tomorrow, at the same time (7:00 AM). Marvel has also said recently that they only want to work with the best of the best in the video game industry, and Square Enix is certainly one of the best.

Now part of me thinks "Regardless if it's KH3 or a new game collaboration, why would they announce something on a random Thursday in January with no significance behind it?". Well, even if you accept it's not KH3 or collaboration related, these two companies are announcing SOMETHING tomorrow, so who knows?

Personally, and preferably, I think if these announcements are related, that it could either be a new Square-Enix Marvel game, or some gameplay of that juicy Big Hero 6 world we got confirmed a year ago.

The Big Hero 6 movie is ownership of Walt Disney Animation Studios. Basically, it's as Disney as Snow White and the Seven Dwarves.

 

Honestly, this is coincidence. Things happen coincidentally, Yakuza 0, Resident Evil and Tales of Beseria coincidentally released at the same day as Kingdom Hearts HD 2.8 Final Chapter Prologue.

Not really, I was talking with some guys yesterday and they were asking about news and I was like "boi, winter ain't over, we just got 2.8." I didn't mean to step on any toes, I was just saying I don't think it's anything. (Key word: "was". I'm not sure anymore because of story reasons.)

BH6 is a Disney Film based on a Marvel property of the same name. Even when the film is under Disney mostly it couldn't be without Marvel so both have ties to it that's all I'm saying. Since KH is Square Enix and Disney and BH6 is Marvel and Disney it would be the only way to link this two posts if they happened to mean something. Anyways let's just wait and see what develops.

That eliminates BH6 from the equation...hmm.

 

If it is coincidence, it's a damned specific one. I'm not going to get too excited about this, personally, don't want to be hyped up for what is essentially a shot in the dark, one that has a highly likely chance of missing the target, namely something for KH3 or a Marvel/Square Crossover IP of some kind.

 

On another note, I think releasing 2.8 at the same time as a Tales game, Resident Evil and Yakuza may have been a mistake, but that's just me.

The more and more I think about it, the less I think it's KH related. Both Square and Marvel tweeted, but wouldn't the KH twitter page tweet this too? They might still be doing SOMETHING together, but no KH twitter participation kinda pokes holes in the KH3 theory for me.

I'm super intrigued!  Marvel and Square, posting an announcement like this, at the very same exact time on the very same exact day, both teasing something for tomorrow....?  Nah, it couldn't be...could it?  A Marvel world revealed for Kingdom Hearts III?  I mean, it could be possible! If this were to be the case, then I think it'd be an exciting prospect!  I've moved on from being skeptical of Marvel being in KH to actually being pretty chill and positive about it, so if this announcement turns out to be a Marvel world for Kingdom Hearts III, then hell yeah, I'm all for it!

 

Gahhh, the possibilities!  Hell, it could also be just a surprise related to a franchise of Square's, and a new project for the Marvel Cinematic Universe. It could be that just as well, ya know?

 

I dunno, I'm hoping for something KH related!

It's likely a coincidence, ut if there is a Marvel elements in KH3 I doubt it would a a world. Maybe a character will appear at Olympus coliseum or something. Or Sora meets 'Star Lord'.
