What do you think Nomura will discuss at MAGIC in feb?

Recommended Posts

So, just as the title says. My guess is a few tidbits of info from the FFVII Remake trailer we get on Jan 30th, a few tidbits on info about HD 1.5+2.5 and MAYBE (just maybe) KH3, apart from his already confirmed career presentation he will give.

1. It has not been confirmed that we are getting a FF7 remake trailer on the 30th, also the event for the FF 30th anniversary is on the 31st.

2. There is this

—By the way, there's a 30 anniversary ceremony for FF on January 31st, isn't there?

Nomura: I don't plan to participate. FFVII's snow sculpture will debut at the Sapporo Snow Festival in February, and if my schedule permits I do want to go to that.

And this

—We would wait another decade if it meant getting to play as that Cloud (laughs). That reminds us, you will be attending MAGIC (Monaco Anime Game International Conferences) in Monaco in February, right? What will you do there?

Nomura: I was kindly invited to do a talk. I won't be making any announcements about specific titles; I was asked to speak about my career so far. It'll be the first time I've done a talk like that and I haven't decided what I'll say yet, so I'll be getting ready for that soon too.

Well, him not being present doesn't mean they cant show a trailer. I know, it's just wishful thinking, but I mean, why wouldn't Square show a trailer of one of their most anticipated games of all time on an event that celebrates its franchise's 30th anniversary? Nothing is confirmed, yes but it seems pretty obvious, everything is pointing towards it. Remember, Nomura wasn't on stage at E3 2013, yet he recorded a video message for the Sony press. Why wouldn't he do that again? Btw, in that interview he showed the interviewer some footage of FFVII Remake. Why tease the fans so much with that portion of the interview if it wasn't going to be shown at some point (and given the time this interview was made, December) even sooner than at E3, just as much as this month? Just believe my words, I REALLY think new footage for the event is 99% certain.

Well, he did promise Kingdom Hearts III at the end of Winter. February is the last month of Winter and 2.8 would have been released long enough for it to no longer be advertised by Square Enix. Plus, this news was pre-planned earlier than February, but due to scheduling conflicts with Final Fantasy XV, it had to get delayed for February.

Sometimes I think that the winter news is what we got at Paris Games Week: drive forms confirmed. I hope I'm wrong, because that was too small of an announcement for the game. Still, it's new info but... Gosh I really don't know what nomura has up his sleeves...

I really isn't. The re-confirmation was just icing on the cake for a bunch of Kingdom Hearts news in general, Nomura explicitly stated that there won't be Kingdom Hearts III promotion until after 2.8's release.

actually, winter ends on the 23rd of march. It begins on the 21st of december too, and at e3 2015 they said the ffvii remake would get news in winter. We got that at the beginning of december 2015, and that wasnt winter yet, so you never know what square will actually do.

Winter can actually go as late as March, February is just the last FULL month of Winter. So February wouldn't exactly work as the "end of Winter" window. Our months aren't exactly these perfect things where the season starts on the first day of the month, so it's important to keep in mind that while on average they are the length of 3 months, you'll still see them overlap with other months and seasons. December is still mostly Fall and March is only half Spring.
