Her phone still lying in pieces on the other side of the room. The silence only feeds the flames more. I keep on looking through the looking-glass, and I wanna fall on through, Out of the real world to a happy day. out of the wreckage that I do. Hours pass. She's still there, in the same spot. In the same room. Her mind is whirling. Her many conciones war over the options. Yet her own voice can't be heard. I keep on dreaming, Because I can, Even though my eyes don't close. I keeping on tripping, Because it's free, To a place I only know. I keep on dreaming, because I can, even though my eyes don't close. I keep on slipping out of this life..... "Words are meaningless." she scolds herself. "Then...why do they hurt you?" she asks. ".....It's all in my head anyway." She forces herself to move, to do something that makes her happy. To find someone that makes her happy... No. She doesn't want anyone involved with her problems. Still my hand won't go to the other side. My boney stay locked here. The glass is cold when I touch my face. But I can taste my salty tears. Books. Litature. Reading makes her happy. She stumbles over to her bookcase and pulls a book at random. Any book would do. Right? No. Wrong. She looks at the cover of "The Scarlet Letter". Tear. Stab. Anger. She throws the book to the wall. Next to the phone. I keep on dreaming, because I can, even though my eyes don't close. I keep on tripping, because it's free, to a place I only know. I keep on dreaming, because I can, even though my eyes don't close. I keep on slipping out of this life, waiting for the drapes to close.... Bed. Sleep. Nothing can go wrong in dreams. Mirror, mirror. Won't you kiss my cheek? And tell me I'll be okay? And warm my spirits with your sugar lips. Nightmare. Of course. She's unaware of the tears raining down, When she sees him. There. Way over there. And not here. Her phone rings in her pocket.
