Shulk 8,623 Posted January 10, 2017 I'm about to ^_^ So you want me to control her after this post? Either way, I don't think the trade of Fiora and Eclaire's going to work out. You'll need to trade a legendary if you want that one.

Clouded Sun 1,232 Posted January 10, 2017 (edited) FIORA IS MINE. And the Goddess Seals are technically not magic but Divine Power, though can be classified as a pseudo-magic. Nevermind the idea that gods/divine beings not having magic makes...little sense to me.... Patience. Everything will become clear later. Just, if you believe in religion, Gods bestow powers onto the people. Potentia Gifts are the powers that are bestowed by the Gods. Magic is something created by Gods that people can use. In fact, Gods are supposed to barely be present at all; instead, be more of an omniscient voice leading down a path. If you choose to have a "divine-based" Potentia Gift, it's just that; divine-based. Gods are different entirely. Especially when it comes to different religions. Scrapmaster 1,731 Posted January 11, 2017 (edited) Alright here goes nothing. Name: Sam Hattori Age: 20 Gender: Male Species: Ryuh Appearance: Ingenium Gift: Martial arts with blades (Kendo for example) Potentia Gift: Spirit Wielder. This gift, alongside his magical gauntlet allows him to call forth elemental spirits to empower him in combat, and to assist him in combat as well. Each spirit gives him their own set of bonuses and attributes as well as weaknesses. Passively Sam may commune with spirits, be them dead or other beings, he can communicate with them without any issue, and in cases like the elemental spirits, ask for their assistance. Sam will start of with Saoirse, his unique spirit, only loyal to him. Saoirse The Merrow. Saoirse was first born into this world out of Sam's belief and prayers during his tragic death in his village's invasion. It immediately bounded itself to his wailing soul, and before he could pass on from the afterlife, his fear of death prompted Saoirse to revive him. His wounds healed and with full recollection of his death. Its first words to him were. "Death and Life form a circle, Death merely an entry to life. Every time you die you shall be reborn in tears of water, as long as you believe in me...you will be free from death." Saoirse has the power to sense threats and other people's intentions towards Sam, constantly serving him a his compass for danger and other spirits. She may also imbue him with her spirit power, allowing him to do magical attacks and spells, with their signature Water Element. However, there is a downside to being practicaly immortal is that it takes a few minutes for him to be fully revived, and his body won't get used to the feeling of revival for some time, depending on how grave his death wounds were it might take longer for him to gain full power over his body back. Background: Sam was your everyday practitioner of Kendo, living in a small side village he always led a peaceful and happy life, he previously wanted to become a knight, then a samurai, or a Wandering swordsman. He enjoyed fighting and training, the feeling one gets from clashing swords with others is something they themselves cannot explain. "Once you clash blades with another, you can feel their soul and their intents." Was Sam's motto every time someone asked him why he enjoyed sparring and training. Wheter it was for the best is not known. Sam was well known and respected throughout the entire village, he would constantly walk around and help anybody in need to help in the village, be it dayly chores to other jobs, everybody liked his presence and his personality. Being kind of a womanizer he was constantly in relationships, but none really lasted, he never wanted to be held down anyway. While his village prayed to the usual gods, Sam and his family prayed to an outright different one, to Saoirse, the Merrow of rebirth. A rather unkown spirit, as it didn't have any spiritual shrines that ones could pray really pray at, nor was she well known. But it was rumored that Saoirse acted out and appeared randomly to those in need, as long as they believed in her, she would be there for them. And he and his family believe this story, and such they prayed for her every day. Saoirse would only arise the day Sam's village was wiped clean off the map by a bandit invasion, nobody in the village was spared, every single one was slaughtered, the woman raped. The village plundered. Sam was only 15 when this happened. He did not escape, not with his life. He was quickly struck down with a blow to his back. As he laid there, bleeding out from the large slash wound on his back, instead of quietly accepting death, or being filled with regret...Sam began praying, with that belief he had left, he prayed, and cried. And from this very moment of complete despair and belief, Saoirse was born. and Sam found himself awaking tne next morning, in the remains of his village. With his wounds healed, and Saoirse now at his side, speaking to him, guiding him. Sam now found himself with nowhere to go, with no objective. Only with a clear hatred for bandits and rogues and the like. He is known as the "Wandering Merrow" From...pretty much almost everyone in the continents. His dastardly and crazy exploits garnered quite the attention of the people. Rumor has it that he raided a bandit camp and walked out...alive and well. With cuts to his clothing, but not damage to his body...Mystery says it that he is immortal...and he is willing to exploit that. Weapon, if any: Crissaegrim A legendary blade, rumored to have been forged by the gods themselves, this blade has an enhancement that allows it to pierce almost any magical barrier with relative ease, as well as maintaining its extraordinarily sharp blade the same regardless of conditions. The sword's sheath seems to also be extremely durable, capable of blocking attacks easily as well as blocking magical attacks. It has easily become Sam's favorite weapon, and a memento of his past life. The "Spirit Channeler" Gauntlet. This gauntled allows Sam to easily and seamlessly switch guardian spirits mid battle and outside of it. The spirits don't channel through it, they merely switch with it. Although the Gauntlet also charges Sam with spiritual power constantly, keeping him topped off in a battle. For now he only has one guardian spirit, so it simply servers as a mean of amplifying Saoirse's power. Death's Pull Not a common design, a Kusarigama is an interesting weapon, its scythe and weighted chain combo is hard to utilize, but it can allow the user good ranged and close ranged potential, as well as allowing him to utilize the chain and weight to not only smack an enemy's guard from afar, but also wring it around their arms, legs and even heads to pull them closer to Sam, allowing him to strike their vulnerable state up close. Its a well balanced weapon, one he has been training for some time now. Note: Each spirit gives him a buff and a change in attributes when switched to. Religion, if any: He was religious before, but now that he has the spirits...he is more of an agnostic, having had to live with divine beings for years now. Other important info: By being imbued with the spirits, Sam has a few buffs that they give him. - Enhanced perception to track enemies - Enhanced concentration to wield them - Tougher body to survive blows - Faster reflex time than other humans - A constant healing effect, as his skin is now treated as "Divine" and tempered by the spirits, it will heal by itself, preventing bloodloss and other small wounds, however the healing effect is very slow, and not reliable during a fight. Clouded Sun 1,232 Posted January 11, 2017 You mentioned each Spirit gives strengths and weaknesses. I see insane strengths. What are the weaknesses? And to double-check, by magical damage, you do mean damage by the elements?
Scrapmaster 1,731 Posted January 11, 2017 (edited) You mentioned each Spirit gives strengths and weaknesses. I see insane strengths. What are the weaknesses? Daiba washi makes him a glass canon. Albeit fast and quick, his attacks are easily blocked by well trained combatants, and easily parried. WHile Isonade allows him to pierce defenses, it is very draining of him, because the state requires pure concentration. and some attacks he cannot predict and dodge. Rayken allows him crowd control and more damage, however it tires him out even more than Isonade. He basically relies on his glove to not hurt himself from overstraining his body with the spirit's powers. They also make his body magical, so any magic disabling or weakning effects or auras, WILL have an effect on his entire body. Lets say, an anti magic device is put and it surrounds a large area in a magic disabling effect. To anyone else (Except Hanz, who is unnafected, since Void counts as both an element, as well as physical). They'd just have their magic temporarily disabled. To Sam? He'd have a whole breakdown, what with his spirits weakening and his body weakening as well. He'd cough up blood and even pass out if he even stood for ten minutes in such an area. Accepted. I suggest that you give a little time before you introduce Sam. The fact that we're just about to make it out of Kalace would feel weird, especially with others evacuated.
