Why Frozen CAN (and probably will) work for KH3

Recommended Posts

Please keep your lynching materials down and hear me about on this; I've given in to the Frozen like. There positive reviews everywhere and it's currently the highest-grossing animated film of all time. From what I hear, there are themes of friendship and love and light against darkness; the KH series as a whole has those exact same themes. I can already see either Xehanort or Maleficent's using Elsa's loneliness to their advantage and maybe even going so far as to corrupt her; or, as backup, they could form an alliance with Hans to cover the Arendelle kingdom with Heartless so Hans can take the throne.

How do you see it in KH3?

I haven't seen the film 'cause it just didn't click with me . I'm not sure why . I guess I am old-school Disney fan .

Anyway , I agree with you , it would be a missed opportunity for it not to be in the game because of its popularity but I just can't see it fitting in the KH storyline .

I don't understand people when they say Frozen won't fit or any world for that matter 'won't fit'. It's Kingdom Hearts, this game has talking animals and Final Fantasy characters fight Disney villains and time travelling people in black coats trying to start wars. Nothing fits or is meant to fit.

If Kingdom Hearts starts trying to be 'normal' and fit in them it's lost it's purpose as a video game franchise. It's purpose is to be an experiment. Experiment with Frozen, if it doesn't work then so what? Experiment with Star Wars and Marvel. If they don't fit then don't use them again.

Honestly, if someone in 2004 told you that KH2 would have Port Royal-would you say the same thing? Because that fit pretty decently, and if it didn't? Then they don't need to use it again. Trial and error.

Now i don't care too much for Frozen myself but how can anyone deny the first fully snow themed world?Like after frozen there's no other Disney film they could use that has such a big focus on snow.

True. The only worlds with Snow so far are Land of the Dragon and Halloween (Christmas?) Town, although only certain sections of the world have snow. So a pure snow/ice themed world would be interesting.

I agree! Frozen would fit perfectly in KH3

Also Sora has similar personalities with Anna xD

And Riku and Elsa too.

They both do control something and they both were afraid of hurting people in the beginning!

Riku + Darkness

Elsa + Ice

Honestly it would be so interesting to see everyone interact with each other :)

And the fact that it would be a fully snow themed world, I mean why would anyone wanna miss that?

I won't lie, I really do not like Frozen.  However, I would actually like to see it be in KH3.  I love winter and snow, and the closest snow/winter themed world we got so far in the KH series is Christmas Town, but that's just apart of Halloween Town.  So, I am definitely up for this world, if only to just run around and explore a snowy wonderland! :D

I'd be curious to see how Frozen plays out. Especially considering that movie and Tangled were released in close proximity to one another.

To those who have only listed Christmas Town and the Land of Dragons, don't forget that the other world that has featured snow is Symphony of Sorcery (Fantasia).  Remember the Snowgleam Woods in Riku's side of the story?  Probably my favorite part of that world for Riku's side (Sora's version was just as amazing, especially that Cloudwalk section).

Now, as to whether Frozen could work, I think it actually could, with some major adjustments to the plot.  The movie, from what I've been told, is heavily based on the original story called The Snow Queen.  Imagine that story being merged with Frozen's retelling, and then given the KH treatment.  That could be one heck of a world and story to explore, given all the possibilities of featuring the Snow Queen, Elsa, members of Organization XIII Neo, Heartless, Nobodies, Unversed, and so on.

Frozen is going to be in KH3 It is honestly not really debatable IMO and add in the facts that a lot of themes crossover between the two I think it will fit just fine

This is almost verbatim of the theory I read on KHinsider at least two-years-ago.

It's plausible for sure and almost impossible for Frozen in general to be passed up but I'd much rather see an incorporation of the original film concept rather than the manipulation angle which has already been done twice (Riku and Terra).

Elsa and Anna were NOT sisters, Anna was a peasant girl and Elsa the villainous Snow Queen. Anna visits Elsa requesting that to have her broken heart frozen and Elsa accommodates. As the film progresses Elsa grows fond of Anna and regrets her curse and overall evilness but by that point it's too late to reverse it and Anna dies.

There is a mention in this video:
And several pieces of concept art here:

The whole frozen heart thing with the KH touch would be genius.
