I half agree with what you say. While I don't agree that we should except huge news and trailer for Kingdom Hearts 3 and 2.8(especially because the game is almost out). Also I do agree that demo for KH2.8 will be stupid because 2.8 itself is a demo for KH3(some people may argue that they cut the prologue for KH3 and branded it as it's own game but that's an argument for another day). However I half agree with the hatred for the KH1.5+2.5. Again I didn't expected to see huge things however I didn't expected that the event will be very very dry in terms of KH news. We don't need to see a trailer for KH1.5+2.5 because the game is a remake of a remake so making a trailer for it, while being short is pointless. In fact I might even say that KH1.5+2.5 didn't needed to be in this event because of how pointless it is to announce new things of it(the only exceptions is brief questions about the fixes of the 1.5 and 2.5 but that's it). I expected small but new things about 2.8 and 3 like how the state of 3 is in development or how many hours will 2.8 be. And for those who say that "oh we got a trailer for 2.8 at Square Enix presents!", it's not a new trailer but a trailer that was released before Jump Festa. We didn't got anything as of new, small stuff so it is understandable that when we got the new trailer some people will get angry because that's the only thing that we got from this event.

Both parties are at fault for KH3's unrelease.

 

Here me out. The "fans" are at fault for wanting a game that isn't even lose to finished, and square is at fault for releasing a "trailer" for a game that they knew was going to e a long time to develop. (It was posted on YouTube 2005-2006)

Yes, But everyone thought it was kh3 since BBS wasn't out at the time

While that is true, Nomura already had ideas of it being a prequel at the time. That, and the fact that a few years later, we find out that it's Birth By Sleep, not KH3.

 

EDIT: Plus, it was never really referred to as Kingdom Hearts 3.

When was it ever stated that the secret ending was KH3? If you thought that was KH3, then that is your own fault (not specifically you Vulpix) not Square Enix's. It never said 'Kingdom Hearts 3' at the end of the secret ending. That wasn't even a trailer, it was a CG opening/cutscene. Not to mention we all found out it was Birth By Sleep.

It's never going to end unless we have KHIII in front of us ready to play.

 

But even then, it'd be nice if we could assess every new event and bit of info with a little class and patience instead of going full-on fanboy rage over every little decision that goes into the handling of 2.8 leading into the eventual 3.
