Tails 6,692 Posted November 28, 2016 Um...you are aware that there are different developement teams at Square-Enix, right? Developement has been going smoothly for KH3 according to Nomura. But since the main KH team is now finished with FF XV that should mean that developement for KH3 will go a lot faster now. 2 The 13th Kenpachi and RuDoe Ry reacted to this

Well yeah, KH3's developement will be a lot smoother now unless the majoraty of the KH team has to help with FF7 remake or something. 2 Exiblade7 and The 13th Kenpachi reacted to this

Hajime Tabata is now in charge of his own division, BD2. BD2 worked on Crisis Core, XV and Type 0. The man has become a full fledged director now because of Final Fantasy 15. He's no longer a nobody to some Business Division 3 is the Kingdom Hearts team, BD2 may send people over to BD3 since they are what I call 'the action' divisions, but by no means is KH3 in 'full throttle' There are still bug fixes, patches and DLC for Final Fantasy 15 that needs to be worked on. So the pressure has simmered down, but it's not time to call it a day. Business Division 2 will most likely work on Final Fantasy 1 remake as Tabata has stated he wants to remake that game. Type Next (Sequel to Type 0) Crisis Core HD (To compliment FF7 remake) Ah I see. Oh yeah, I forgot abvout all the DLC they plan to put out later on . ANd oh my gosh PLESE bring Crises Core to HD consoles in 60fps. I never got the chance to play that game and playing it on my PS4 with HD resolution would be sweet! They seriously need to remaster that game since the original version of CC is so rare to find now. 1 The 13th Kenpachi reacted to this

I stand corrected. It could be a remaster in the style of Type 0 rather than a full fledged remake like I may have implied. But yes, it could definitely happen and would give new FF fans the chance to play CC as well as people who never played it. Not to mention it's good lore to know for the Final Fantasy 7 remake. They could even include a demo for the remake within this game.

The Transcendent Key 12,109 Posted November 29, 2016 Well human, remember that the humans over at Square Enix work in various Business Divisions, and as such, I'm pretty sure that Kingdom Hearts III is progressing and developing smoothly! Different teams are taking care of their different franchises, and so Kingdom Hearts III is in the clear! I'm hopeful that the XV team now moves to Kingdom Hearts III to help smooth out the development process! I can't wait to see new footage of Kingdom Hearts III already! PC FFXV is much more important to me, and I think that plus either Type-Next, Crisis Core HD, or something entirely new is what BD2 is working on. I gave up my PS4 to play this game on PC. And that Ultimate Collector's Edition was oh too tempting. Edited November 29, 2016 by Clouded Sun 1 The Deathdealer reacted to this

Clouded Sun 1,232 Posted November 29, 2016 I hope in the future we get simultaneous releases I swear, SE is missing out on a cash cow. PC gamers are really excited for this one. Probably moreso as a community in proportion to the console community. I see comments all over Steam's FF releases about wanting to play FFXV.

Clouded Sun 1,232 Posted November 29, 2016 (edited) You know what else is happening tomorrow. My birthday!!! But yeah I'm still thinking about buying Final Fantasy 15 if it's worth it. ;P FFXV is already out. At least for NA, since the time you posted. The reviews say it's really ambitious, that FF fans would like it, and that it's a hit and miss with a lot of different things depending on the reviewer (some don't like the story but love the brotherhood of the character; others love the story is but is meh with the characters). Generally, the combat is well-received. FFXV seems like the really risky game that will be what you make of it. You will either like it or not, but it doesn't seem like the reviews grasp a general "this is good, this is bad" (except for maybe the cliché localization, which is STILL controversial and preferential). I don't think you'll get any luck out of waiting for the reviews or even sales. If you take the risk, you may enjoy or may not. I know I've been hyped since 2010 ;3 no brakes for this game. RuDoe Ry 139 Posted November 30, 2016 No dice. KH3 is more hindered by the FF7 Remake than FFXV. Can't really prove that really.. nomura has always said kh3s development is going smoothly so.. I mean just looking at those two new pictures of the drive forms the game has came a long way I can tell it looks even better than the trailer (even me detail can crisp looking) you can tell they've been working their a$$ off on the game all they're doing at this point is probably just feeling the game up with worlds. the worlds are going to be a lot more open-world no more of those pesky having to wait for sections of the worlds to load. I'm no genius but I bet you Kingdom Hearts 3 is way farther than the ff7 remake. 1 The 13th Kenpachi reacted to this

I'm no genius but I bet you Kingdom Hearts 3 is way farther than the ff7 remake. Yeah it kind of is considering the director is directing two huge games, one more huge than the other. Therefore he must be going between the divisions and hence why people from BD3 are helping BD1 with the FF7 remake. However Nomura did say about hundred times that he laid the teams out so they don't impact each other. It'll be fine

I'm not saying KH3 is not going smoothly - what I meant was that FF7 Remake would've had a more significant effect on KH3 than FFXV solely because Nomura is directing both games (and by the looks of it, FFVIIR is gonna be a decade-long dev cycle too) 1 The 13th Kenpachi reacted to this

You are right though Clouded. However, both BD3 and BD1 are using the Unreal Engine 4 for KH3 and FF7R respectively, so some people may be working on both games. As for the progress of the remake, Nomura said the team are elevating various aspects to finished quality. However this collides with the fact he said he checked the Guard Scorpion boss fight... That's the first boss of the original game, so they may not be as far ahead as we think. Anyway, this January, 6 days after 2.8 releases (30th of Jan) is the 20th anniversary of Final Fantasy 7 and next year is the 30th anniversary of the FF franchise. What may end up happening is that we get the demo of the Bombing Mission next year for the remake since the original game also had a demo for the Bombing Mission http://www.novacrystallis.com/2016/10/nomura-talks-final-fantasy-vii-remake-dengeki-playstation/ I'd say FF7 remake part 1 next December and KH3 in March 2018. Or it could be the other way around. Edited November 30, 2016 by Barry Bacon Allen

I didn't say he was gonna halt KH3 (if anything, he'd prioritize it like he did with FFVsXIII) 1.5 and 2.5 will be out in March. 2.8 will be out in January. Development for either KH3 or FFVII Remake part 1 will be wrapping up by the end of the year at least, so yes I do believe by next year, at least one of the two games will get released if not by early January. With the exception of 0.2 and Chi, the porting process takes significantly less resources and effort to perform, especially having been on the former 2 PlayStation consoles and PS4/Xbone's x86 capability. KH3 has dropped continuous bits of news and trailers. There's a lot of progress at least in the combat and graphics/physics engine, features that are developed and need finishing and polishing and so on. Final Fantasy VII Remake, Disc 1 at least will be talked about all next year now that FFXV is out, too unless he pulls a Vs. XIII. I didn't say that he's gonna release all those games in a year-in fact, I said that I think FFVII Remake will be another decade-long project thanks to his dedication towards Kingdom Hearts as opposed to other projects. I said that he wanted to release Disc 1 next year (likely very late) or the year after. I also didn't say he's just going to release 1.5,2.5, and 2.8 and go into a shell again for the rest of the year. I thought I read that here I gotta go back and look. I definitely expect a release year by then I mean they have to have one by now it would be plain ridiculous if they keep us in the dark I think I'll cry if I see another now and development :\.... but yes I'm super curious to see how far kh3 has come since 2015 E3. But I do remember nomura saying we're supposed to be getting a lot of kh3 news in 2017 so... anything can really happen at this point.
