Roleplay Endless World (RP Thread)

Recommended Posts

Many years ago, a young man by the name of Io was out and about, digging for gold. As he dug, he discovers a mystrious orb enaminating with power. Upon contact with the mysterious mineral, Io gained godlike powers and was gifted with slight immortallity. But at the same time, the orb knawed away at his light, causing him to become insane. Throughout the centuries, he has been living in secrecy while eliminating people who he views as worthless and inferior. In response to this bloodshed, an alliance called S.W.O.R.D. assembles and begins searching for powerful individuals to put an end to Io's wrath. A young man named Jynn Venas, undergoes extensive training and has been assigned to recruit more warriors to help him defeat Io, and to retrieve the mysterious orb. But unfortunately, Io has began growing a team to eliminate all humans (or any race with human-like intelligence) from the world. S.W.O.R.D has sent Jynn to search for the new recruits and return them to the S.W.O.R.D stronghold for further instructions.

(I'm just starting the RP thread, I'll post for my characters after work.)

As the sunlight arose upon the Everus household, a letter was delivered from the hands of a reaper to the hands of Veran...the main butler of the house. Of course...a reaper would not dare approach a manor where a demons prey lay. So the letter was brought to Veran from the hands of Wulfric, the werewolf-human servant Aya had watching over her manor.

Veran opened the letter as soon as it was given to him, it did not have the Queen's seal on it...so it must have been something only the reapers knew about. They seemed to know about everything.

"Dear Madam Aya Everus and Butler Veran Sterben,

The Shinigami Dispatch Association has noticed a threat to the human world. This threat would require not only your own, Lady Everus....but also the help of the demon you are contracted with. S.W.O.R.D. member Jynn Venas will be the main provider of information. That is all we know. Please do not contact the Queen about this...we will do that on our own time.

-Nikolai, Collection division."

Veran honestly was half-tempted just to crumble the paper up right there and throw it out the window. However with a sharp breath, Veran pivoted towards Aya's room, walking up the steps and down the hallway, approaching her door.

He knocked softly upon her door before entering, Aya had her pillow over her head and it seemed like she didn't want to get up at all. She just knew Veran was in there wanting to get her up.

"Aya...a letter came in from Nikolai." Veran spoke up to her.

That made Aya perk up some.

A letter? From a reaper??

She removed the pillow from her head and sat up, Veran handing the letter to her and stepping back to get her an outfit for the day.

As Aya read it, Veran could hear the crumbling of paper.

"They provide us with no good information whatsoever." Aya snapped, throwing the paper across the room.

She stood up and stretched.

"If this 'Jynn' person comes...he better come soon. Other than that, I will be living out my life normally." Aya said simply to Veran who had an outfit already put out for her.

"I think that is the only thing you can do right now." Veran advised before helping his master get dressed.

(Aya's outfit- https://s-media-cache-ak0.pinimg.com/originals/f2/db/11/f2db1113f30304eaa780a28686876ad7.jpg

I hope that was an okay opening post.)

Driving around the neighborhood in his Tesla, Jynn searches for S.W.O.R.D's new recruits. "Why must I actually go retrieve the recruits rather than just meet them at the facility?" Jynn was not one to intrude someone's property, regardless if it was for the sake of a mission or not. But he knew that it was important for him to find them. He reaches for the touchscreen on the dashboard and checks on his messages. He was searching for the two recruits Aya Elizabeth Everus and Veran Sterben. He is close to their home, and he has been informed that the seem to be "old-fashioned", whatever that meant. Thankfully, all the others have been informed to meet at the local park (hopefully this will help the rest of you start). Jynn then spots a large house and parks on the opposite side of the road in front of it. Getting out of his car, he cautiously walks to the gates. "Is this their home?"

"You're not the ONLY hero!"

"I knew you'd look better without the-"

"Hey, wake up! Wake up!"

"W-why?! I didn't deserve this!"

"I wish you could see me now..."

"..."

The rays of light kissed Seth's caramel skin, it's radiance only blunted by the soot of charcoal. As if jolted to life, Seth hit his head on his monitor; luckily it was anchored so it wouldn't break, but Seth's head didn't hurt any less from the impact of the hard edge of its base. A mark was left on his face by a small, cyllindrical contraption that he slept on for hours.

"Uggggghhh" Seth grumbled from the rude awakening. Seems like he fell asleep in his lab again - for the fourth friggin' time this week. It was nice to know, at least, that he wasn't attacked this time by flying sparks or a magnetic pack of nuts, bolts, screws, and paper clips.

No, instead his doorbell screeched in rapid succession, hitting Seth's earphones like a booming trombone. Peace and quiet, sayonara!

Seth dragged himself up to his storefront, merely twisting the door before a small girl bounded in.

"UUUNNNCLEEEEEE! Hi!" The redheaded girl, maybe nine or ten in pigtails and a small flowery blouse screeched, clearly bursting with excitement to see Seth.

"Alright, alright, settle down."

"Did you miss me? DIDYA MISS ME?" she asked, clinging to Seth's arm and grinning from ear to ear.

Seth smirked at her, then rolled his eyes and said "Nope!" He patted her head as she loosened her grip. Through the door, a man, older than Seth came through. The man was tall and beefy, his facial hair showing a bit of his age, yet maintained a youthful look. His eyebrows were full and bold, and his hair was gruff. It was in his eyes that he really showed as a more compassionate man.

"How's it going, Seth?" The man held his arm out towards Seth, greeting him with a firm handshake.

"Eh, could be worse." Seth shrugged.

"Workin' in your jammies, huh? I knew you'd be here." the man teased, pointing out Seth's tank top and sleeping shorts.

"Yeah, well that's how I am when you come before opening hours, Trey. Lisse sure is lively today." Seth said, pointing towards the girl, who was now scavenging behind his desk for some new projects.

"Hey, Lisse," Seth called to the girl, a smile plastered across his face. "wanna see something cool? It's something I've been working on for awhile now."

A rosy emotion of happiness overwhelmed Lisse. "Really?"

"Yeah, check it out!" Seth tapped a ring on his middle fingeron his right hand, explaining "See this? Seems like some normal sort of jewelry, huh? But when I do this..." Seth tapped it twice, then the ring sprang to life, unfolding into the hilt of a sword and falling into Seth's hand. A blue ray of energy shot out of the ring-hilt-thing, forming a long, humming blade.

"Now that's a katana!" Lisse exclaimed.

Seth chuckled a bit, but his small reprise of happiness was shaken by Trey's somber "Hey, Seth. Can I talk to you for a bit?"

Seth's blade sprang back into his small metal ring again, which he slid on his finger. He crouched down to Lisse, saying, "Go play! Just don't do anything stupid, alright?", then he walked over to Trey. "What's up, man?

Trey crossed his arms. "Hey, you know, you're just like a brother to me..."

"Yeah?" Seth furrowed his brow, confused.

"And, you know, I'd never lie to you, right?" Trey continued.

"So?"

"Just saying." Trey paused, then said "...Saying because I've been gone for a while. Scouting."

"You took Lisse with you?"

"No, I just picked her up from her aunt and uncle."

"Alright... go on..." Seth leaned against the wall, pursing his lips.

"There's someone out there. Something dark that's going on. It's a damn scary world, man." Trey looked down, upset.

"What's going on?"

"S.W.O.R.D. is going on. You've probably never heard of em. I'm a scout for them, and we've found some clues to a lot of questions we've been asking for years." Trey paced for a moment. "...It's just frightening to think of raising my baby girl in this kinda world. Which is why I need your help."

"Help with what?"

"Someone will fill you in on the details. For now, I need you to come with me, to S.W.O.R.D's headquarters. We need to... 'make up' for lost time."

"Alright." Seth didn't take a moment to hesitate. He turned to start getting ready.

"Oh yeah," Trey said "and get your ass dressed. You're gonna make me lose my promotional consideration if you meet em in your jammies."

"Before hours, dude! Before. Hours!" Seth shouted, arms waving. He laughed a bit at his friends' joke.

A short smile crept across Trey's face, but it faded as quickly as it came. "Well, the shop's closed for today. C'mon, I need you."

Hope, hope was something that had been taken away, hope is something that never got to finish playing out. Luke kept thinking of his past, all the memories he had of his ex, the love of his life who was taken away from him, his ex before that who turned evil, and the battle he once had to endure with all of his friends, friends who he has gotten out of touch with. He stood atop a branch on a tree in the park, remembering all of these things, what he thought was a happiness turned into a heartbreak. There really wasn't much for Luke left in the worlds, yet he still lived, and so he has to keep pressing on. Luke wasn't the type to stick around anyone any longer. He usually ended up helping and saving those who needed it, and then disappeared. But as of late, he has heard tales of people dying unexpectedly, and about a man who may be twice as bad as Kye was, which was very bad. This news to Luke brought back the memories of his past, and he decided then and there that he had to stop this man before more lives were torn apart, this meant he must meet up with S.W.O.R.D. and team up with them in order to protect the lives of many people.

Nurda appeared in the back of Jynn's car laying down like a cat, when he eyes popped up and she noticed that the car had stopped. "Oh, we're here?" Nurda asked aloud as she then hopped out of the car after opening the door and walked up next to Jynn. "Is this the home of those people, Jynn?" Nurda asked Jynn.

The house of Death was mysterious as it was wondrous. It had no walls, and yet clocks of all ages, types and sizes hung in the air, ticking down in their own rhythm. Sand clocks lined up next to one another on shelves. Some large, some small, some old looking, some looking brand new. There were so many, practically endless, and yet all had a name, all had a purpose. "Are those the new ones for this month?" Grim asked, walking over to the middle of the room with a cup of hot chocolate in his hands. Death opened a box, though small looking, containing hundreds of clocks inside. "Yes they are." Death spoke, his voice low yet powerful, speaking over the ticks of the clocks. He picked up a clock, unwrapping the bubble wrap of it to reveal the gleam of the polished wood. "Such beautiful lives. So much potential." Death said as he walked over to the nearest invisible wall to hang up the clock. "It is too bad that their lives will be so short." Grim's eyes narrowed. "I told you it doesn't have to end so soon. There is an organization by the name of S.W.O.R.D. that plans to put a stop to it before it begins. I intend to join their efforts." Grim said, walking over to the taller figure and offering him the cup of hot chocolate. Death gently took it, taking a sip from underneath his hood. "Led by the soul known as Jynn, correct?" Death spoke. "Yes." Grim insisted, leaning in and kissing his father on the cheek. "I'll get going now. I hope to catch him before he moves on to his next destination." Grim said, stepping away and walking out of the room. The Grim Reaper would try to save the souls from early demise...but he would need the help of the mortals themselves.

"Mister Veran!!!!" A screech was heard from the yard that came from Wulfric, Veran perking up as the werewolf boy bust into Aya's room without consent.

"What is it Wulfric, there is no need to scream." Aya scold him.

"Yes there is a need to scream!! Look outside!!!" Wulfric couldn't stop freaking out...and as Veran peaked out the window he could see why.

"What the **** is that." Veran cursed out loud.

Aya quickly made her way to the window and gasped.

"The reapers weren't kidding." she couldn't believe her eyes.

"Let's get out there. Now." Veran informed, pulling his gun and the two rushing down stairs.

"Be cautious....but friendly." Aya orded.
"Ja..." Veran muttered as the two walked casually out, approaching the vehicle with Jynn at their gate.

"Excuse me sir, are you here for something?" Veran asked, his gun cocked underneath his tailcoat, Aya standing behind him looking at the car.

What the hell did the reapers want them to do?

Jynn walks up to the gate with Nurda by his side. "I would have to assume so Nurda." As he reaches the gate, he notices a man walking up to them rather suspiciously. He also notices that he has one hand behind his back. "Nurda, keep calm. He might have a weapon behind him." Jynn then puts his hand on his revolver's sheath, but makes it look like he's merely resting his hand. The man then asks if Jynn needed something. "Kind of. Do know of anyone by the names of Aya Elizabeth Everus and Veran Sterben?" Jynn then notices Aya behind Veran, staring at Jynn's Tesla.

Aya stepped out from behind Veran as her butler placed his gun away.

"Lady Aya Everus. Nice to meet you. This is my butler, Veran Sterben." Veran opened the gate for the two.

"You frightened us a bit. Sorry for the rather rude approach." Veran bowed his head in apology.

"Are you the one called Jynn by any chance?" Aya then asked.

She approached the man a bit more.

"I would have imagined you coming in a great vehicle. You're just like a magician or something!" Aya smiled to Jynn.

Veran had his eyes on Nurda. These people were very, very strange.

Jynn nods to Aya. "Pleasure to meet you two." As Veran opens the gate, he apologizes to Jynn for his odd approach. "Oh it's quite alright. You're just doing your job. I have a few butlers back at home myself, so I understand your urge to protect your master. I must apologize myself for spooking you guys." It appears that Jynn is not the only one who has servants at home, but he never really needed them, since he does like to do some chores back at his house himself. Aya asks for his identity. "Yes ma'am, I am Jynn Venas, and this is Nurda, one of the other recruits." Aya then claims that Jynn is some sort of magician and acknowledges his car. It was at this point that Jynn understood what the director meant by these two being 'old-fashioned'. Jynn shakes his head and smiles. "No, unfortunately I'm not exactly a magician. But yes, this is a one of a kind vehicle. Not quite much demand for it these days. Thing costs seventy five grand ($75,000)." Jynn then pauses. Everyone was silent for a bit, which was turning awkward. "Well, we should start heading over to the S.W.O.R.D facility."

(Late post is late)

Nurda noticed something off when the two recrits first came out to meet her and Jynn. She sensed that one was holding a weapon, but she also sensed that Jynn was going to be able to handle the situation. When she heard what Aya said about the car, Nurda knew these people were more than old fashioned, Nurda could tell that these people were living in the past. When Jynn said that they should start heading to the HQ, Nurda nodded and said,"Right. As for the two of you, all will become clear in time. I was actually an early recruit, so I already know how confusing this must be, but once you learn, you will understand." Nurda said the last part to Aya and Veran.

"Nice to meet you Jynn...I hope to have a better understanding of what is going on when we go got his S.W.O.R.D. place..." Aya acted pretty distracted, Veran's gaze brining her back to reality.

"Thank you for coming so quickly. We received the letter this morning." Veran thanked Jynn.

"Will we be using this mode of transportation?" The Butler then asked, gesturing to the car.

Jynn nods. "I will do my best to explain everything I can when we arrive ma'am." He then faces Veran, who acknowledges Jynn's timing. "No problem sir. I wouldn't leave you guys hanging." The butler then asks if Jynn's car will be the transportation needed to get to the S.W.O.R.D headquarters. He nods. "Yes sir." Jynn could tell Veran is nervous about his car. "Not to worry. This is a specially designed vehicle meant for safety. I won't let anything happen to you guys." Jynn then gestures to Nurda to head back to the car. He then faces Veran and Aya. "You guys ready?"

"He is trustworthy. Father Time would have my head to involve souls from another time into one much modern than their own, but you must understand, that these consequences are nothing but ordinary." Grim's voice echoed across the air, speaking to the group of Veran, Aya, Jynn, and Nurda. A simple overlap in time around a spot. It wasn't very complicated, but it wasn't something that should be done in any other time than emergencies, and well, this was certainly an emergency. Grim slowly rose from a shadow on the floor, his scythe in his hands standing taller than him. He kept his hoodie on, having the shadow of it cover his eyes to avoid scaring them with them...or better to say, the lack of them. "You are the recruiter for S.W.O.R.D., are you not? It is nice to meet you Jynn." Grim said as he nodded at the rest of the group. "Nurda, Aya, Veran." He then turned his attention back at Jynn, smiling softly. "I wish to join you in your efforts, if you would allow me. I'm Grim, by the way." Grim said, trying to sound as friendly as possible.

(I promise, Lisse and Trey aren't permanent characters!)

Seth dressed into his favorite outfit, showing off his toned arms and the dragon tattoo that snaked across his right arm. He took a moment to gather a couple of his in-progress projects - what seemed like a shoulder guard, some type of dumbell, a blue and black artifact looking bracelet, and a flower among other things, placing them into his seemingly bottomless satchel. When he returned, he found Lisse and Trey talking. Lisse could barely make eye contact with her father, and Seth could tell she heard about them traveling.

"Are you gonna leave again, Dad?" Lisse asked, her head down in a somber mourn for her father's attention.

Trey paused for a moment. His daughter's innocence felt like holding water. It slipped away, no matter how hard he tried to cup it together in the precious temporary time they spent together. She continued to blossom, and Trey feared life without the girl who was most important to him. Trey swallowed, then crouched down to his daughter's eyes, raising her chin with his finger.

"Baby girl, there isn't a day when I don't think about you. I love you and I need you to be safe..." Trey paused, his eyes on the brink of tears. "...So I want you to come with me and your uncle to my job."

Lisse's eyes brightened like stars. She squeaked in delight "Really?", throwing her arms around her father. Trey embraced her, then kissed her hair.

I just hope I can see you grow up, Lisse...

Seth smirked to Trey. "Awww, man you're acting like the kids now!"

Trey bit back "Still old enough to be your uncle."

The automatic doors of Seth's shop swung open one last time, as the trio walked towards Trey's car. Its engine roared a roar that echoed throughout the dawn sky, zooming towards S.W.O.R.D., and towards the point that Seth's life would forever be changed.

Nurda was taken by surprise when she heard a voice and now saw a figure standing before the group named Grim. Nurda started to growl, "Jynn, don't trust this guy, this is THE Grim! It's the Grim that takes your soul, the reaper who doesn't care for anyone, but himself, the one that will take your soul no matter how much you beg him not to! I heard many tales of this man, all of them involve him takin people's souls away, not a one about kindness in his heart, because there isn't any!" Nurda said as she was misguided by rumors and tales of the Grim Reaper to not trust the figure before her. She summoned her keyblade and pointed it towards the reaper. "Leave us alone, at once, or you will regret it! You aren't taking our souls!" Nurda said as she readied her keyblade to attack Grim.

Luke was seen hopping off the tree and heading to the nearby HQ of S.W.O.R.D. Luke seemed to be still thinking to himself as he ran at cat like speed to the HQ. "This had better been worth it. And those people better not try to be friends with me, I can't take another heartbreak." Luke thought to himself while traveling over to the HQ.

Jynn is suprised by Grim's sudden appearance. "Yes, I am him." As Grim offered to join the group, Nurda suddenly becomes paranoid and explains all the rumors she has heard about the newcomer. As she raises her Keyblade at Grim, Jynn interjects and lowers her weapon. He was not one to judge too quickly, as he can see through Grim's intimidating aura. "Nurda, I think we should allow him in our efforts. We need all the help we can get." He then whispers to her. "But we'll keep a close eye on him while doing so, sound alright?" Jynn then faces Grim and walks towards him a little bit. "Pleased to meet you too Grim. The more, the merrier. But, I have some concerns. I'm sure you can understand why, Grim."

Nurda looked like when a cat got angry at its master for not letting it get its way. "Jynn, don't trust him! I know many people who lives got ruined by this dude!" Nurda thought under her breath. But she knew, Jynn was the type of guy to trust anybody, no matter what their background may be, which was annoying to her at times. She had known Jynn the longest, as she was one of the earlier recruits to S.W.O.R.D., so Jynn must also have known how mad this made Nurda, but Nurda couldn't stop Jynn, cause he always had his way of doing what he does. "Fine, Jynn, but don't expect me to like this idea. The reaper is nothing but bad news, if he comes anywhere near taking anyone's soul here, then he shall regret it." Nurda said back to Jynn. Nurda was nowhere near ready to trust this man, the man who many people and animals feared.

Grim couldn't help but to pout slightly at the reaction, but in all honesty, he expected no less. He was Grim, son of Death. The one responsible to help souls cross and remain at peace. It wasn't something he liked to do. To see people mourn over their loved ones from both sides always tugged at his non existent heart. But there was nothing he could do. Everyone was destined to die at some point. The most he could do was to postpone it until it couldn't be done no longer. Still, he was surprised the mortals had made up such a fearsome entity out of him. Even the Bogeyman sounded less scary at this point. "I know you don't trust me, and I understand. But not all of your popular rumors of me are true. I want to keep more souls from crossing over...seeing that humanity's life clock has currently been suddenly shortened out to mere months." Grim explained. He should have asked the Easter Bunny to come along. Maybe that would have put a good word for him. He walked closer to them, not afraid of the keyblade, merely wanting to make peace, and solve the problem before it became one. "Let us make haste then. We don't have all day." Grim suggested as he walked to the car and smiled at Nurda. "Meanwhile I can detangle what is truth and what is fiction when it comes to my rumors."

"So another being that has interest in souls would like to join us?" Veran kind of just gave himself away, Aya nudging him.

"Excuse me, should we get into the vehicle now?" Veran kind of pushed himself along followed by Aya.

"Jynn doesn't know you're a demon, don't give yourself away so suddenly. You just saw how that other girl almost attacked Grim." Aya warned her companion.

Jynn rolls his eyes after hearing Nurda's rant. He leans to her and directly reminds her of his thoughts. "I never said I TRUSTED him did I? I am allowing him to fight with us, with supervision." He then stands back upright and listens to Grim's explanations. Jynn understands the newcomer's claims, but he still feels that Grim should show that he means well. Grim and Veran then remind him that they need to start heading over to HQ. "Oh yes! Let's get going." As Jynn walks up to the car, he opens up the two back doors for the two, knowing that they are not familiar with cars. Jynn then sits in the driver's seat. "Make sure you two close the doors after you enter."

Nurda was still mad at Jynn, but this was normal in their relationship, half the time they would be friends, the other time they would disagree with each other, it was just something they did. Nurda walked up to the car and took the front seat, that way she didn't have to sit near the reaper. "Well, lets go then. We are burning daylight hours." Nurda said as she waited for Jynn to drive them to the HQ.

Grim tapped his scythe, having it slowly disappear into a portal of darkness on the floor for later. It was too big to fit inside the car. He would bring it back out when they reached the HQ. "Let's get to the HQ then, shall we?" Grim said cheerfully as he took a seat on the back of the car, quickly putting on his seat belt. Not that he needed it, really. "I can assure you that I can be trusted, but I will show myself worthy of such trust if needed to." Grim said, specifically to Nurda. "I don't take souls away because I like to do it. Only because it is my job." Grim reminded, just to make sure. It was a difficult job, which is why he was created for it. Sometimes souls were taken away so abruptly, or in ways that no one should ever be taken away, and it was Grim's duty to help them, and be their comfort before helping them beyond.

Veran closed the door behind him as instructed as he looked to Grim. Aya putting on the belt thing like Grim did.

"Veran put this on." Aya pointed it out, Veran following Aya's actions.

Grim was chatting about how he didn't like to take souls away and how it was his job. Grim probably knew Veran was a demon and it took everything in Veran's power not to just tear the shinigami into shreds right then in there. However, Veran had to keep Aya in mind. He could not display violence without Aya's permission. Whatever this Jynn guy was about to get them into...Veran hoped that him and Aya made the right choice coming into this.

Jynn becomes less suspicious when Grim confesses that collecting souls is not something he enjoys. After everyone is inside the vehicle and strapped in, Jynn starts the car. The engine quietly hums as he puts his foot on the pedal. As the vehicle accelerates, a phone ring sounds on the dashboard touchscreen. It was S.W.O.R.D's director, Enceladus. Jynn then answers the call. "Yes sir?" Then Enceladus's voice begins to speak. "Hello Jynn. Have you retrieved the two new recruits?" Jynn looks at the two of them from the mirror. He also takes a glance at Grim. "Yes. I have them in the car with me. Along with another new recruit. I'll talk more when I get to HQ. I'll see you in a few minutes." Jynn then taps on the "End Call" icon and ends the call.

A few minutes pass, and then the S.W.O.R.D facility comes into view. It was a large building, with a large sword logo.
