I don't think it's needed tbh, if you want to say you like their profile then you can just post on their profile "Hey I like your profile!" Better to just have the illusion that either everybody likes you or doesn't care enough to dislike you than to have a counter indicating how little likes you have for just being on the site. I can see it being done for statuses, but I think if you like someone's profile you should just tell them.
