Beyond Good and Evil (2003) Sonic Adventures 2 (2001) Deus Ex human revolution (2011) Naruto Storm 4 (2016) (was fun with friends and I know how the manga ended now LOL) AC1 untill 3 again (2007-2012) Kingdom Hearts 2 (2006 EU) Final Fantasy X HD remaster PS3 (2013) Games I still want to buy this year Final Fantasy XV: I have ignored all trailers since March and have been waiting almost 10 years (tell me something about it or post something in this discussion without spoiler tag I report you if it has to do after the event in March, except the anime and movie because I have seen them but don't talk about the game) The Last Guardian The Walking Dead S3 by TTG... Batman: Arkham Asylum Batman: Arkham City (so firetrucking good!! And quite a lot of extra content) Undertale (didn't expect that game to be so damn good ) To the moon (short, but epic. Enough said.) Shulk 8,623 Posted October 30, 2016 (edited) Just looking at games that came out this year, Dragon Quest VII: Fragments of the Forgotten Past is hands-down my favorite game of 2016 so far. I'm almost 30 hours in and I've just barely scratched the surface of what all there is to do in the game. The writing and translation are fantastic, there are a ton of options for classes and abilities, and it's just been a ton of fun to play. I haven't even finished it, but it's already one of my favorite 3DS games (Might even be my #1, excluding Xenoblade 3D). I hate counting remakes for my favorite game of a year, but I can make an exception for DQVII because it changed so much from the original. Runner-ups would be Lego Star Wars: The Force Awakens, Kirby Planet Robobot, Stardew Valley, and Fire Emblem Fates. I've also pre ordered XV and that's it for 2016 releases. I really just don't have the time to play them nor do I care, but XV is an exception. As for other games that I've completed this year for the very first time, Final Fantasy 8 and Final Fantasy 13 definitely come to mind, both are amazing games with great stories (8 especially) and really fun gameplay. Gameplay is the pinnacle of Assassin's Creed. Pokemon X (made me obsessed with Pokemon again ) Pokemon Omega Ruby Rise of the Tomb Raider (amazing game! And those graphics...) Setrex 1,031 Posted October 30, 2016 I haven't picked up many new games this year, but off the top of my head I enjoyed: - Gravity Rush Remastered - Pokken Tournament - Final Fantasy IX (Steam) - Hatsune Miku Project Diva X While also really enjoying my time with Xenoblade Chronicles X, Steins;Gate, Birth by Sleep Final Mix and Final Fantasy XIV over the summer. BlankShell 638 Posted October 31, 2016 I'm pretty picky about my games, so I haven't played much this year. Digimon Story: Cyber Sleuth probably takes the cake. Such a great raising Digimon system, plus surprisingly challenging turn-based battles and a clever story. ABZU was also a surprise favorite; I mean, I knew I'd like it, because it's Journey underwater, but still, sorta snuck up on me. Stories: The Path of Destiny is probably the last one I'll put on the list. I didn't get into it at first, but it's a great game to take in small chunks, since you can run through "stories" pretty quickly. Shout out to KHUX (yes I like playing it, fight me) and Persona 4: Dancing All Night, too. I'm absolute shite at rhythm games, so as a "game" goes I wouldn't class it as my favorite, but the story is way deeper than Arena/Ultimax and arguably Q.
