Ventuslover123 24 Posted October 8, 2016 I know Xion Haters would love this, but what if Xion never existed? Roxas left the organization because of Xion's demise, so if she never existed, would Roxas stayed with the organization and became evil? thats means that the Kingdom hearts 2 prologue would never had happened, he would never had met the twilight trio.. would his and Axel's friendship be different? AwesomeKHfan 1,250 Posted October 8, 2016 In my eyes Xion was living the story that Roxas should've had in 358/2 days... IMHO.
Saber Lily 1,543 Posted October 8, 2016 I think he would have been close to too late in leaving. He already felt uneasy about the Org in later days, and the treatment of Xion was one of the biggest...but if Xion wasn't alive then Saix would have directed his scorn somewhere else. The friendship might have lasted longer than it did. Otherwise, dunno...
Master Eraqus 1,340 Posted October 8, 2016 (edited) Let's see here. If Xion never existed: Roxas wouldn't have obtained the second Keyblade. Roxas wouldn't have been 'motivated' to leave the Organisation. He would have still been friends with Axel. Continuing from point #2, Sora wouldn't have woken up, unless Riku hunted him down or something. Continuing from point #2, Roxas would have continued to work for the Organisation, thus continue to collect hearts, create the Kingdom Hearts of men's hearts and have the Organisation obtain it. He'd be less likely to question things like who he is or where he came from, since learning Xion's creation set a spark to more questions for him, as well as her leaving multiple times. Saix would still be a jerk. Roxas would have probably died/disappeared from too much ice cream. DiZ would still be a Nobody racist. (EDIT: I initially made this as a joke, but now I realise that Roxas actually did change Ansem the Wise, unintentionally. To continue from point #10, Ansem learned that "a heart is so much more than any system" after seeing it when Roxas and Kairi "crossed paths." He even later apologises to Roxas, yet doubting he could hear him.) Continuing from point #4, Roxas wouldn't have met Namine, thus not coming into contact with Kairi. There wouldn't have been a conflict between Axel and Roxas due to Axel's actions to get Xion back to the Organisation. This further ties in to point #2 since this conflict pushed Roxas even further to leave the Organisation; fanning the flame that spread from Xion's spark from point #6. There's probably a lot more things I could list, but I think I got the main points out. Really, the major point to make was point #2. EDIT: Ha, and people say Xion is pointless and didn't do anything. Ah, they're funny. GrantKH 27 Posted October 8, 2016 Kingdom Hearts II didn't have Xion at all. Yet, it was still able to explain the time between Chain of Memories and II very well. As such, Xion is completely pointless (until Re:coded gave her an actual purpose).
KairiKeybasH 851 Posted October 8, 2016 If she didren´t existed things would have been very, very, very different and also many things would have been left unanwsered.
RikuFangirl2008 1,368 Posted October 8, 2016 Xenmas would've use samples of Sora's memories of Kairi for something else. I guess this would squash the deepest concept of Sora regaining his memories in a different angle. Cause it was REALLY important for Xion needed to go back to Sora or else Sora would wake up not remembering folks (which the whole thought of it really puts a painful wound in my heart, just thinking about it). Joker 1,560 Posted October 8, 2016 But Xion never did exist but seriously, a lot would of changed if she wasn't around. She was the main cause that pushed Roxas forward

Headphone Jack 1,147 Posted October 8, 2016 i'm pretty sure explaining the events of KH2 without Xion would be fairly easy. it's one of the things that just highlights how pointless of a game Days was. before i played Days, i assumed Roxas left because he realized he was being used and felt that going to Sora would give him some answers. as for why it took Namine a year to fix Sora's memories...well i assumed that doing so just took a lot of time. i mean naturally it would be a shorter process to take them apart and mess them up. Putting them back together in order seems like a delicate procedure. it's not exactly crazy to suggest it took her a year. if anything that added some weight to the scenario. she did enough damage to put Sora out of commission for a year. Days claims that Xion was basically intercepting the memories as Namine tried to fix them, which isn't the worst excuse. it's just a pointless one because, like i said, you can easily explain the events that led to KH2 without needing an entirely new character to set those events into motion. lots of the problems you might think would come from Xion never existing only exist because she was written to seem like a more important character than she really is. if you remove 358/2 Days from the series, i'm fairly certain nothing of importance is lost. VisitJoan 2,713 Posted October 8, 2016 If it hadn't been for Xion, I might not have been an Axel fan. Him caring about Xion is what made me like him because it showed he was becoming a decent person.

All of this, and the fact is that Kingdom Hearts 2 "works" without Xion's existence only because Roxas' time in Organization 13 is barely even alluded to in the game, an entire year goes by with this one character doing nothing for all we see at the time. KH2 It doesn't work in any way whatsoever without Xion, they just skipped over addressing Roxas' history much at all and thus his significance to the plot and as a character is all but nil. Without 358/2 Days and Xion Roxas is just this really brief prologue character that's simply just "there" with no real personality and no role other than to get absorbed by Sora at the end of the prologue. TheKeyofRose 282 Posted October 9, 2016 (edited) People say Xion essentially is pointless to the story and to that I say. And as said above with Xion or Roxas in 358 Roxas is really just...There as a character who makes sense to exist but at the same time has not all that much but a sad story behind him. palizinhas 102 Posted October 9, 2016 Hn... it's possible Riku would have tracked Roxas down and told him the truth about himself (being Sora's Nobody and Sora needing him back in order to wake up) but I'm not too sure Roxas would have handled finding that out well? I mean, for Xion it made her turn further against the Organization because they created her, so she saw what happened with Sora as her responsability. But Roxas was created BY Sora, and he'd have no reason to side with Riku and a guy he never met over the Org, especially when Axel is his only friend and someone who genuinely cares about him instead of wanting him to disappear in order to get their friend back. He may even have assumed that Riku was lying about the Organization's involvement, if Riku even went that far in his explanation (he didn't with Xion, at least from what was shown). Plus I don't think Roxas would have been sent to deal with the imposter even if Xion wasn't around, so Riku would likely not even know what he looked like (and he was only able to get to Xion after she left the Organization, and since Roxas couldn't figure out he was a Replica since he's not, he wouldn't have left, so maybe Riku wouldn't even find him). Oh, Saix's treatment of Xion came a lot from the fact that she was friends with Axel and he was jealous about that, and he took it out on her instead of Roxas because Xion wasn't even a Nobody. But without Xion in the picture, Roxas would probably have received a more bitter reaction from Saix. Not as hard as what Xion got, but worse than Roxas got in canon. Naminé also figured out Xion's interference in waking up Sora way before she figured out about Roxas, so maybe without Xion in the picture it would have taken longer for Naminé to realize they needed Roxas in order for Sora to wake up, which would delay Riku getting involved too.
