"Wait!"

 

Seth called too late. The figure disappeared into a doorway-like void.

 

Seth touched his fingertips to his head, trying to get ahold of his racing mind and to gather his thoughts. The void remained where the figure disappeared.

 

Seth knew... the only way to find answers was to follow it. He walked through the void, into a room of floating space. Beyond it led another "door" of darkness.... Seth inhaled, then started to walk through the next void, into a world he's never known.

Waves saw the figure of a man as the man walked through the corridor. "Who is he?" Waves asked himself. The guy seemed to have blonde hair, and seemed to be around his late teens. "Yeah, I know almost everyone on this world, and yet I don't know him. Who is this guy and what does he want?" Waves asked himself aloud as he still hid from the figure who was coming out of the corridor in the middle of one of the academy's hallways.

Seth stepped through the corridor, aghast at finding an "academy" at the other end.

 

"...Damn. School?"

 

He scratched the back of his head, as he thought of what he should do next. There was no way that guy came through the corridor through a school. He tried to turn back home, but the portal zipped closed, leaving Seth dumbfounded.

 

Seth slipped his hands in his pockets, oblivious to anyone watching him. He decided he'd explore the school before getting caught and told to leave — he might as well tell the headmaster or principal it wasn't his fault.

 

Then again... Who'd believe him? Wasn't the only way to travel to other worlds by gummi ships?

 

Seth let out a sigh, then walked around the grounds of the building. There was no one in the hall - not quite yet.

Waves heard what the man said, confused about why this guy seemed to not know where he was. Waves kept following Seth around, while trying to not get himself caught. "Hmm, this guy seems to know little of where he is, but how would that be if he caused the portal, unless he somehow came here on someone else's request? But who summoned him here?" Waves thought in his mind as he was hiding right near Seth still hightailing him. Suddenly though, Waves's phone went off cause it to ring where Seth could probably hear it. "Damn...." Waves said as he then tried to get his phone to shut up, probably to no avail.

A phone rang, which was possibly the most familiar feeling in this place out of nowhere. Seth couldn't believe he was being watched by someone incognito. How long had they seen him? Seth couldn't tell. He cocked his chin towards his right shoulder, looking behind him towards the direction of the sound.

 

"Need something?" Seth clenched his fists. He didn't have time to deal with another school jackass… but he did need help. Maybe he'd just get information and move on.

"Darn, he caught me." Waves thought. Waves then came out of hiding, with a serious look on his face. "I should be asking, do you need something? I know almost everyone on this planet, yet I don't know you, now why is that? Who sent you here, and what are you looking for?" Waves asked as he wanted some answers from Seth.

Seth stepped to face the boy.

 

"That's my line! Name's Seth." Luckily, Seth didn't find this guy to be a threat. He continued, "I just found this... space some guy made. Couldn't get a good look at his face" Seth said, demonstrating by waving his hand over his face. "Then when I stepped through I came here. Where am I?"

Waves let up on Seth. "Well this world is what we call the Keyblade Grounds. It's a place where keyblade wielders of the darkness come to learn how to use the keyblade and the order of the worlds. We also have a main town outside this academy and we have a huge castle behind this school. I am not really sure why you are here, but maybe you were meant to come here. Let me guess, you are a lost soul who needs some training?" Waves asked starting to sound nicer to this guy.

Seth nodded, and let out a sigh of relief. He didn't have to feel tense around this guy... A first for almost anyone really.

 

He held his chin, thinking about the whole situation that came like a whirlwind. "Ah.... That's what the man said too..." He whispered to himself. Then, to the boy: "I'm just a normal guy trying to live life." He threw his arms in his pockets, then said "I didn't catch your name. What was it again?"

Waves smiled as he then took a proud stance. "My name is Waves! As you can tell by that name, I enjoy the water, so that's probably has something to do with how I got that name. I am one of the well known people of this world, as I am a special case. But on the sounds of it, and the fact you were sent here, I can say that you are a special case as well, I don't think you are a normal guy." Waves said with a smile as he summoned his keyblade and held it in his hands while doing that Sora thing where he relaxes his hands behind his head.

Seth was glad to see another person out in this new world. He appreciated the fact that he found someone to have a sound conversation with. He almost cracked a smile but....

 

Seth flinched slightly after watching the darkness around Waves' hands form a keyblade. A frown crept along his face, but he tried to turn so that Waves wouldn't see.

 

"Uh... This is an academy right?" Seth looked left and right, then continued: "Where is everyone?"

Waves smiled. "Probably in class or training, it's the first day back at school. Everyone has their own things to do today then to just hang around the halls." Waves said as he then noticed the look Seth gave. "Oh, you just frowned for a second there. Let me guess, you don't have a keyblade, do you?" Waves asked as he looked at his keyblade and back to Seth.

The city of Twilight Town, it was a place in this universe that seemed to be unchanged location wise from its KH universe counterpart. The only real differences seemed to be new additions to areas, like more shops, and it was a place that was bigger because of the added locations, plus there was a large landscape outside of the town that was where Lumina and Noise appeared to be parked at. However, as Lumina and Noise were starting to get further into the town, they were going to be able to see a figure dressed in a sort White Mage outfit, but with their faced covered so you couldn't see their face and with gold on it instead of red. The figure just stood there with a staff, waiting for the two of them to get closer, whenever that may be.

[Twilight Town]

 

Lumina had finally made it into town after following the makeshift trail she had paved for herself from earlier. Her fox-like ears twitched to and fro as she enjoyed the ambient sounds of the town, picking up the random conversations from the inhabitants that called this beautiful place home. The scents and dazzling sights of the nearby shops caught her attention, but held short of giving in to her impulse as she remembered about Noise and why she invited her out in the first place. She turned to face her assistant with a warm smile. "Well here we are, Noise," she gently told her, "Do you have any idea where we should start?" Lumina had a very generic idea on where to start looking for clues for someone who has forgotten their identity, but was hoping that Noise had an innate sense on where to go.

 

As she looked around to take in the sights just a little bit more, a strange figure in the distance caught her attention. Lumina stared for a bit, then dismissed the robed person as just another stranger as she returned her gaze towards her servant. The idea of finally giving Noise the chance to find out her true identity and return her to where she belongs was both a terrifying and an exciting idea for Lumina. She eagerly awaited for their adventure to start, albeit wary of the stranger in the distance.

Hehe, finally made it! Umbra thought proudly as she entered the school grounds, a giant smile on her face.  ...but where is everyone? she continued thinking to herself as her grey eyes took in the beautiful, but empy landscape of the school courtyard.  Her grin vanished as she looked at the ground sadly.  Did I miss school again? the silverette wondered as she tapped and shifted her feet around, a nervous habit of hers.  There had been a few times where Umbra had accidently missed her classes because she was too busy gorging food at various restaurants on the Keyblade Grounds.

 

But seeing that the time only read 11:15, and that it was still bright out, that couldn't be the case.  Hm, I guess I'll just have to look for everyone; like a big game of hide-and-seek!  Smiling again, the cheerful teen took out her third donut and began munching on it as she started wandering around the academy.  But after twenty minutes and still seeing no one, Umbra got despondent.  Where is everyone?  Did they all go somewhere without me?  I didn't do anything wrong, did I?

 

Biting her lip, since she ate four of her donuts and didn't want to eat her last one, the silverette rounded a corner and spotted two men.  Wait, is that...  Edging closer, Umbra saw that she recognized one of them.

 

"WAVES!" she squealed happily as she bounded towards them, and would have hugged said Waves if she wasn't holding the box of dozens.  "I'm so happy I found you!  I couldn't find anyone else, and I was starting to get worried.  And-" she stopped herself as she saw that Waves had his keyblade out, and then looked up at the stranger.  "Um... what's going on?" she blinked, "And whose your new friend?"

Waves was taken by surprise by Umbra's sudden arrival. Waves knew that Umbra had a habit to just show up randomly at times, plus he also knew about her love for food, so he knew where she probably was up to now, and that she probably brought those boxes as treats to everyone else. "Umbra, this here is Seth, he sort of just arrived in this world. He doesn't really know why he is here, he was just sent here, and I can tell, he is not yet like you and I, he appears to be without a keyblade. I was about to tell him and show him to Master Zack, the master must know something of why this boy is here, and why he has the markings of a warrior, but appears without a keyblade. Everyone else should be in class or training, that's why no one is out in the halls or outside today. So, you are free to head to class, or you can come with us, either one." Waves then looked at Seth, "Seth, I believe if you'd come with me to see Master Zack, then we could probably figure out why you are here, and what we can do for you." Waves said with a smile as he then started to walk to front building where Master Zack's office is.

 

The figure in Twilight Town didn't move for a moment, and kept eyes on the girls. The figure clearly was watching them, though for what purpose was not clear. Though the figure suddenly disappeared, and reappeared behind a tree that was nearby the girls.

"Oh I see," the girl said and smiled at the new man. "Hi Seth, I'm Umbra!" she introduced herself, "And I'm a student here too, like Waves.  It's nice to meet you!"

 

When that was done, the silverette couldn't help but blush and try to hide herself behind the box as she asked, "Um, is it okay if I go with you guys?  You know what happened the last time I was late and brought food in, don't ya Waves?"  I really don't wanna run around the school again, and Master Zack won't be mad at me.

Seth shrugged at Waves' question about his keyblade. "I never needed one, really, ya know?"

 

Before he could continue, a girl bounded out from... somewhere! After being introduced by Waves, Seth simply replied "Hey." with a nod towards her. "Umbra." he repeated the girl's name, as if trying to get it memorized.

 

Waves suggested they go to somebody by the name of Master Zack... Seth wondered if he knew who the mysterious figure was that led him here. Seth was cautious, but... He trusted Waves. Umbra decided to join in, too, blushing rather cutely for a glimpse of a moment. Seth cracked a bit of a smile, and said to the pair "Yeah, let's go."

 

Umbra's box of food remimded Seth of how hungry he was, and how much he loved to freakin' eat. Restraining himself from asking directly, Seth looked towards and asked Umbra "What kinda sweets are those?"

It didn't take long for Wave's group to get over to the office of Master Zack. Once they reached right outside the office, Waves looked at the group. "Well, this is the office, Seth. Hopefully the master can give you some answers you seek." Waves said as he went first into the office room.

 

Master Zack was sitting behind a computer in his chair, when Waves walked in. "Ah Waves, what is it now?" Zack asked. He could tell something was up, as Zack was always good at reading Waves. Waves looked at the master. "Zack, there's a man who is about to walk in here, he says was sent here, and he doesn't seem to have a keyblade, we were wondering if you knew anything about him and why he has the makings to be a warrior, but doesn't have a keyblade?" Waves asked, as Zack popped his head up. "Oh, so the new recruit has arrived? About time, only took him long enough." Zack said as he got up from his seat to meet Seth. Waves looked confused, "Recruit? You didn't say anything about a recruit earlier to me! Why?" Waves asked as he was confused by the master's words. "Ah, there's a reason for that. This recruit is special, and he is someone who might be surprised by your situation, so I just thought I would inform you both at the same time, but clearly you two met before I knew about it. That makes things more interesting." Master Zack said as he clearly knew all along about Seth.

Umbra smiled gratefully at the two men, happy that she could go with them instead of going to class and likely end up being punished because of her tardiness.  Still holding the box of sweets, the silverette followed the two with a carefree skip, smiling all the while.  Soon, they arrived at Master Zack's office, and Waves decided to go in first and inform said Master.  As the other two waited, the new man, Seth, asked Umbra, "What kinda sweets are those?" 

 

"Oh, they're donuts!" she replied cheerfully, "I bought them from Millie & Myro's Bakery.  They make the best sweets in the whole universe!  And the people who work there are really nice; they let me stay for a whole hour!  And they only charged me 12,000 munny for all of these!  Well anyway, would you like one?  Trust me, you won't regret it!"

"Uh... yeah." Seth took a donut from the box Umbra excitedly flung open; one that looked a bit like it had yellow crumbs and a white frosting caught Seth's eye. Biting into it gave him a sensation - it was a mouthful of apple pie mixed with some vibrant flavor in the donut! Seth was impressed - and a bit inspired - by the flavor. Whenever he came upon good food, he had to mark it in his memory.

 

"Thanks." Seth looked more at the donut than at Umbra saying that, a bit unsettled yet happy at the hospitality of Waves and Umbra, but a quick glance showed she was pretty happy.

 

With Waves already in the room, Seth looked to Umbra, and with a bit of a smile, suggested "Let's head in." He held the door and nodded for her to head in, then followed into the office of Master Zack.

 

Seth leaned against the wall, gathered a breath closing his eyes to inhale, then exhale. Seth looked towards Master Zack sharply, with open ears.

Master Zack smiled to Seth and Umbra as they came into the room. "Ah, Umbra, good to see you. And you just be Seth, the boy who grew up in the wrong world. It's very nice to meet you." Master Zack said as he then looked at the group. "Well now that you are all here, let's get down to business. You see, there is something that you all should know about, something that is happening in a world far off from here." Master Zack said as Waves was confused, "What? What is happening, Master?" Waves asked. Master Zack suddenly made a vision appear before the group in what was like a hologram but was in a purple foggy cloud. The vision suddenly showed a battle, one that took place on an unknown world, but the world was different from the world shown when the story began. The battle was people of the darkness losing their lives to people of light. "This is happening right as we speak. This battle is just one of many that have already taken place, and more battles are on the way. That is why I sent you here, Seth, we need all the help we can get, but we mustn't let anyone know at the same time as to not raise suspicion, that is why I have been looking for just the right people to go outside of this world and help protect the balance of the worlds and help stop this war. So I need you, Waves, Seth, and even you Umbra to help, so are you willing to help us, the Masters, protect the worlds?" Master Zack asked as he looked at the group.

Aemeth was seen in the gym, trying to figure out which Keyblade technique he could practice. He was sitting on a chair, thinking long and hard. He had been doing this for a while, as it was hard for him to decide sometimes. He was wanting to hurry up and do whatever popped up in his head. "Let's see... Should I fight an illusion this time to help keep track of illusions? Or should I try something different?" Thought Aemeth, mentally thinking to himself in his mind.

Umbra just smiled in agreement and followed Seth into Master Zack's office.  Said master also smiled at the duo and gave a greeting.  Hehe~ I was right!  Master Zack's not mad at me at all; he's so nice!  Still grinning, the girl went over to the side where some chairs were so she could put the box of donuts down and eat her last one, since it seemed that the conversation was about Seth and it didn't involve her.  But when she was about to take a bite, Master Zack said something about the worlds.

 

Hm, this is really important, isn't it? Umbra thought.  Grin disappearing, she walked back over and stood with the two boys as Master Zack showed them a hologram he summoned up.  The silverette's eyes widened and her face grew pale as she watched the scene in the hologram unfold.  W-what?  This is happening right now?  She hugged her stomach tightly as she watched the carnage before her; she felt like she was going to throw up.  All those people, fellow Dark weilders are being slaughtered by those of Light!  Its just like before...

 

Resisting the urge to cry, Umbra looked at Master Zack once the hologram disappeared.  He explained how all the worlds were in danger from the Light, and how he hoped the three of them, as well as some others, could travel to other worlds and protect them from the Light.  When he asked them if they were willing, Umbra blinked away the tears and stood up straight.  "Yes Master Zack; I will do whatever it takes to protect these worlds," she replied, her tone and face devoid of her usual cheer as she stared at him with resolve and determination.  I will not let this tragedy happen again!

Seth looked to Waves and Umbra, who each seemed concerned in their own way about the vision Master Zack showed the trio. Umbra seemed emotionally distraught at the image at first, and a glance to her watery eyes struck a sadness in him. 

 

Seth hadn't felt 

 

Seth turned to Master Zack, closing his eyes for a moment. It seemed... unfortunate to seen so many slain, definitely resembling his own powers.... but he couldn't feel crap for people he didn't know. Seth balled his hand in a fist and clenched his teeth, and his heart felt heavy...

 

"Sorry, but I just can't do that." Seth began to choke out, staring at the ground in anger. "Not now... But you wouldn't understand..." Seth looked the Master in the face. "No one can understand! All they've done is demand from me!" Seth shook his head.

 

Stop! 

The memories rushed through his head. Seth tried to keep it together, but... 

 

Quit it! Please, help me!

 

A single tear fell down Seth's cheek, no matter how hard he tried to stand. His legs felt wobbly for a moment. With a cracked voice, he told the Master "Fine. If it's the only way I can survive here, just..." Seth turned away from the Master, Umbra and Waves.
