I really love this! I knew there would be some reason that Pokemon brought Pokemon Origins to the YouTube and Pokemon TV channels, and now I know about this, which seems to be a shorter version of that with new elements. I really am looking forward to these shorts, just wish it was longer though.

Well of course you can't KILL him off since the main Pokemon anime is very kid friendly lol .

I was actually liking him and the rest of the cast in XY until they dropped the ball in the Kalos League final...what the hell were they thinking.

I honestly liked him up until he least to a starer Pokemon when he clearly had more experience in Pokemon battles. Tat's when I knew that Ash will never become a Pokemon master.

(I know that there's already a thread for the trailer, but I thought that a nice organized discussion thread would be nice to have as well. This way, we can discuss the series as it comes out)

 

For anyone that didn't hear, Pokemon Generations is an upcoming animated series being uploaded on Pokemon's YouTube page. Much like Origins, it's going to be heavily focused on the Pokemon video games, although this is going to be a weekly series of short 3-5 minute episodes focusing on a particular event. By the looks of it, many of these will be entirely new stories based on side characters like Green or Looker. It starts on September 16th with two episodes being released, and then will be updated weekly until December 23. Source for this information is here. There's also a trailer, and someone already made a thread for that right here.

 

As someone that loved Origins and fell out of the main Pokemon anime due to a lack of interest in following the same old story every time, I'm incredibly excited for this. I just hope that The Pokemon Company will consider doing another season of Origins if this is popular! I thought this would be a really fun series to talk about with fellow Pokemon fans. With only two and a half days left until the first two episodes come up, this is a really exciting time to be a Pokemon fan! I've got all sorts of ideas and things I want to say about Generations, but I'll hold off to polish that up...

Damn it's only a short episode thing? Hopefully though it'll get super popular and prompt them to make an actual series, most notably the Origins Season 2.

I'm excited for this, although I hope they won't just sum up the entire story like they did in Origins. Considering it's only 5 minute episodes until December, I doubt it'll be an in depth story telling of the journey. It'll be extremely abridged.

It's already been said it won't be a story of a journey, it's individual short stories. The trailer shows Green vs Lance, Buck fighting Heatran, and things like that. It's just specific events that we never got to see take place in the games. It seems like Red and Green will be getting multiple episodes focusing on them, but they aren't the main protagonists.

I'd love to see more of the protagonists/rivals from the games appear. Gold vs Red is what I most want to see come out of this, but given the types of stories we've seen so far, I don't think that's going to come up.

N is in the poster, so I'm hoping that we'll see what he did after leaving at the end of B/W. I didn't think about anything else in-between those, though... Finding out what happened to Hilbert/Hilda would be interesting.

So I guess that a lot of those different clips from the trailer were all used in the first episode... Didn't see that coming, but I guess that means that Red won't get as much focus as we expected. Not a whole lot to say about the first episode; it was a pretty great tribute to each game, though. I loved the scene with the Woopers.

 

 

As for episode 2, this one was really cool to watch. It was fun getting to see the International Police in action. I think that's also the first time we've ever seen Looker act like a cool leader... I liked it, though. He's one of my favorite Pokemon characters, so I was happy to see him get some time in the spotlight so early. Also, it looks like this episode confirms that Generations isn't tied to Origins, since Giovanni was clearly still holding on to the ideals of Team Rocket.

 

 

I do really like the animation in these shorts. I'd love to see a full-length series like this.

To be fair, Pikachu's changed a lot over time, and tends to look different between the games, manga, etc. I really like this version of Pikachu, though.

Well I'm just used to Pikachu's look in the more recent seasons of the anime so yeah Haven't read any Pokemon mangas and have only played first three generations so far.

I'm more used to the games since I haven't watched the main anime in years, although even in the games and anime, it's changed a lot. Maybe one day they'll settle on a universal design.

I watched the videos and I was very impressed with the animation, the fighting, and the mature feeling of the storyline (Episode 2). It's not everyday where you see police working with pokemon.

 

My only gripe is that someone from the tech department or some sort factored up the quality of the videos when uploading or exporting it. 360p? Dafaq man. THIS IS 21st CENTURY. WHERE'S MY 1080p!?

 

Other than that, I can't wait for more of the videos.

The 1st episode alone > the main anime. I haven't enjoyed it this much since Origins, if not the anime back when I was a naive child. 2nd episode was interesting too, although the last thing Geovanni said sounded off compared to the games. Then again maybe Geo was tricking the player, who knows? Still great for such a short episode.

The animation was incredible... I'd love to see a full fight in this style. Story-wise, I liked seeing Green's perspective of the Elite Four challenge. This one was obviously in the Origins timeline, so seeing more of the differences between Red and Green was cool. Green telling Agatha to not compare him to Oak caught my attention, too... Guess he has some issues with the old man we never got to know about.

So ep 4 is out now. It seems to focus on Lance breaking into team rockets HQ, also Gold makes an apperacne but we never actually get to see his face, just like with Red in the pervious eps. I really hope one of these eposides focus on the world tournament in B/W 2. All the MC's battling
